Powerline networking and hard cables weren't an option for us and we've been suffering with a so-so Netgear wireless router for about 3 years now. Finally, I decided it was time to step up to something better and this unit exceeded my expectations.
After about 15 minutes of setup I swapped it in for the old router and, in my office, which is literally on the other side of our house, my data rate went from about 12-14mbps to 127mbps. More importantly, the 1 to 3 second dropouts, where I was getting no data rate at all, are gone.
Pros: - Easy setup (just make sure you're really connected to your ISP before you run it) - Very powerful (no signal strength issues here) - Fast enough to serve at least three high load connections simultaneously
Cons: - Expensive for a dual-band unit
Bottom Line: If, like me, you had a persistent issue with uneven bandwidth and spotty connections, this may be the solution you've been looking for.

How many MBPS does it get
In theory, the AC3100 will go all the way up to 2167 mbps, but in a real-world application you should expect 100 to 200 mbps. In a far less than ideal setup I'm getting a rock solid 127 mbps which is about 5x over my previous router.
