This is the best display I have ever seen in my 15+ years of PC/console gaming. I've owned Dell, Viewsonic, Samsung, ASUS plus some pretty decent Sony CRT's in my earlier gaming days. My son's 8yr old Samsung LCD finally quit, so I decided to upgrade my rig and hand him my ASUS VE278 which I was totally happy with.
I did my research and initially got the Benq XL2720Z but after a weekend of tweaking the colors, I tossed in the towel. While it's a good monitor, the colors were just not worth the price tag. So I did more research and found one of the best selling monitors at Best Buy and Amazon.
Don't let the 5ms response time keep you away from purchasing this. Displaylag.com rates this above other 1ms monitors including the Benq. Nowadays, I game alot on the PS4 but still play BF4 on the PC. If you're a console gamer then this resolution and 60hz is all you need. I'm perfectly happy with playing BF4 on the PC with these specs. The colors pop out at me which pleases me more than getting above 60fps which my graphics card can easily do. My eyes cant tell the difference between 60 and 100fps but can tell properly represented colors which is why I'll stick with ASUS any day.

Immerse yourself in rich, robust sound thanks to the DTS Headphone:X 7.1 channel surround sound and DTS surround sound modes that enhance your games, music and movies. I upgraded from the Stealth 500p and am very happy. The Elite's are a very good build quality. I find that the buttons are not easily pushed if you grasp the ear cans around the perimeter. Just takes a little concentration. Presets are a nice option and updating the firmware was a breeze. Mic works without a hitch which was my main concern. I have a very low voice that does not project well but friends hear me loud and clear. I tried a pair of A50's right before I got these and am not disappointed. Sounds seem slightly muffled on the Astros but are nice and crisp on the Elites. There's actually a preset that reminded me of how the Astros sound but I obviously skipped over that setting. Hopefully I get my hoodie before the fall. Don't really care about the plates.

Which is better for gamming, this one or BENQ RL2455?
Bought my nephew a tower now want to find a good cheap monitor
The ASUS is better. 27 inch screen rich colors and faster than the benq.

Matte or glossy screen?
Does this monitor have a glossy screen with rich color or is it a matte screen?
