Excellent album behind Camp

Childish Gambino; actor, writer, comedian and rapper/producer extraordinaire. I have been following Mr. Donald Glovers music since his free album Culdesac back in 2010 and also on one of my favorite shows "Community", and its just been a fun ride following his progression as an artist. First of all, his debut album "Camp" was one of my favorite albums of 2011, CG has a sharp ear for beats as well as an incredible wit when it comes to clever punchlines, in which I'm sure is credited to his knack for comedy writing. Last year he released a free mixtape online entitled "Royalty" which was a complete overhaul of Childish Gambino's artistic sound when compared to his earlier work. This mixtape featured an abundance of underground/mainstream artists ranging from the legendary RZA, Bun B and Ghostface Killah to up and coming successes such as Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q and Chance the Rapper, and even folk artist Beck and old mentor Tina Fey...Those who are familiar to CG's earlier work are well aware that Childish Gambino does not normally feature other artists on any of his projects, usually handling all the rap verses and hooks himself, so this mixtape was a bit of a head scratcher. Not to mention, his rapping style was dumbed down to fit the uninspiring and bland production that was present on Royalty
After Royalty, I was a bit skeptical of how Childish Gambino's second album would fair against his previous catalog of music. Luckily for me, "Because the Internet" is not like Royalty, and neither is it like any of his previous albums. BTI, is an album that shows the growth of an artist with a vision. BTI is a conceptual affair that coincides with CG's life covering a variety of topics such as women, insecurities, blatancy, fame, and even drugs; but packaged in a confusing yet cohesive way. There are a total of 19 tracks, technically 16 if you exclude the short interludes, that flow seamlessly with one another.
The production on the album is very experimental, and at first may confuse old fans. This is not the same Gambino we are used to hearing. This is an in-depth Gambino that delves into a more honest human being that (instead of being insecure about race and acceptance like on CAMP) is learning accept himself as human being but looking for a bigger purpose. There are songs on this album that tie in with the 'internet' concept such as "Worldstar" & "Earth: The Oldest Cumputer", but the song titles aren't necessarily a means of tying in the narrative. Each song is just a single part of the bigger picture, and only when listened in chronological order can be understood. There are only a few songs that are more accessible such as "Sweatpants" which features a classic punchline Gambino flowing quick and in your face, and "3005" which is an easy radio single thanks to the catchy beat and hook, however the lyrics are much more depressing than they appear.
What I am impressed with mostly on this album is Gambino's growth in music. He mixes many genres within all the songs including Jazz, Funk, R&B, Rock, Techno and even a little bit of industrial sounds. What's amazing is that neither of the songs sound out of place on the album. Songs like "The Worst Guys" and "Telegraph Ave." in my opinion showcase some of the best instrumentals Gambino has ever rapped on. And even "Pink Toes" feat. Jhene Aiko sounds sweet, but features experimental textures. There is a lot of songs on here that must be heard numerous times to fully capture and appreciate the detailed nuances. The only complaint I really have with the album is the middle section of the album which at times can be very slow, and sometimes can be a real grind trying to listen trough. But all in all, Because the Internet is not just your average Hip Hop album, it is a musical experience. I highly recommend this album to any music lover that appreciates experimental music, but be warned that this album is not for everyone. If you're just a casual Hop Hop lover that just likes to hear banging beats and corny Lil Wayne punchlines, this album is not for you.

I purchased another year of Xbox Live when it was on sale for 29.99. I couldn't be more satisfied to extend this service instead of using a credit card and buying it for 60 bucks.

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter like you've never seen. Just ask the judges from E3 2011, where the Irrational Games title won more than 75 editorial awards, including Game Critics Award's Best of Show.Set in 1912, players assume the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the flying city of Columbia on a rescue mission. His target? Elizabeth, imprisoned since childhood. During their daring escape, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond — one that lets Booker augment his own abilities with her world-altering control over the environment. Together, they fight from high-speed Sky-Lines, in the streets and houses of Columbia, on giant zeppelins and in the clouds, all while learning to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities and immersing players in a story that is not only steeped in profound thrills and surprises, but also invests its characters with what IGN called "emotional ties (that) will continue to set the bar in gaming."

I am a big fan of both BioShock 1 and 2 and Infinite is a remarkable new entry into the series. The graphics are incredibly clear and the environment is so very different from the original duet, set in a lofty Quantum Mechanics driven city in the skies against the original Libertarian underwater refuge. The enemies as well as the weapons are original and distinctive in many regards, from the mechanical Patriot robot warriors and "Handymen" to the variety of magical tonic driven powers reminiscent, while not mere repetition, of the original games. One of the most defining features of this game is that it is not simply combat driven as most games are today; the story and the atmosphere equally play into the motivations for playing it. The society of Columbia is a brilliant work of alternative historical fiction, grounded as it is in real social issues of turn of the century America. Even while the country was at the height of humanist optimism, it was also built on the shoulders of the oppressed masses of immigrants and descendants of the slaves. The stark rhetoric of the prophetic quasi-Christian movement at the heart of the society is thus set in savage contrast with the injustices and rampant racism against the wage-slaves that propel the industrialized city. The result is that you will enjoy the sections where there is no combat just as much as the fight scenes. At times it feels like going to some sort of warped Disney exhibit and is really chilling in its brilliant exposure of the racist tendencies in historic American culture. I won't say much about the actual story-line as I don't want to ruin it to new players, but it is a gripping and engaging story line that pulls you right through to the end.
My one complaint is that the game severely limits how much you can save. The checkpoints sometimes are close together, but at other times it is shocking how long you have to go before another savepoint. This can get quite annoying at moments and my wife in particular complained about this feature, particularly considering that this was a big change from the original games. At least it is not an issue of having to reload the checkpoint when you die, instead you are resurrected and a monetary fine is taken for the respawn, but it is annoying that sometimes you have to play for a long time before it will save which is annoying at times. But in the larger scheme this is a small caveat to an otherwise incredible journey that will entertain and excite a wide variety of gamers.

What's great about it: Story. graphics, and gameplay
What's not so great: Limited save points and a somewhat short story

Every episode of the Emmy award winning drama series Friday Night Lights is collected on this set. The series tells the story of high-school football coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) who leads a Texas school's gridiron gang, and is subject to much pressure from the town and the families of his players.

One of the best TV show in recent years

It is sad that this show had to end. I started to watch this show on a limb because I remember someone talking about it when it first aired. I came in late but I do not regret watching it. It has one of the most realistic and moving plots (except that murder story line) ever made and the actors executed the characters emotions and conflicts perfectly. While the football scenes and shots eventually showed somewhat declining quality of play (but that's just me because I love the sport's hard hitting action) they really made the most of the sport's excitement and drama, balancing it with the more vital and important stories for the characters.
I love how they've packaged all the seasons into one neat collection with stills from the shows greatest moments.
My Best Buy number: 557866340
What's great about it: Passion and emotion the characters bring - relatabled
What's not so great: Shot angles, some weak football scenes

Decent game, worst Gears yet

I've played all the previous Gears of War games and enjoyed them all completely. I was hyped for this but it was a let down. It is a great game by itself but if you compare to it the other Gears games, it falls short.
With Judgment, something just feels stale. The single player campaign is short, and the story itself is lackluster. All you basically do is pick up a different gun and kill enemies in different ways in order to earn stars and other things based on different conditions. I liked the Declassified missions in theory but how the developers implemented it took away from the story and made it feel clunky but I still had fun during the short play through.
The multiplayer is fun to a certain extent, and it was actually better than the main campaign, which disappoints me because I consider multiplayer to be an added bonus not something to outshine the single player experience. They changed some elements which made Gears unique but now you can only carry two guns, no longer use the D-pad to switch guns, etc. However, they did do something right with the Overrun mode. I am currently addicted to playing that solely.
If you like a shooter with an under average storyline and a main goal to pick up different guns and kill, kill, kill, this is the game for you. If you're looking for more, maybe wait 'till the price drops.
All in all, it is a decent game, but definitely not worth brand new game price. I really hope this doesn't mean that Gears of War will become like many other games that keep getting released just to have a game and have very little value added to them. It will be very disappointing to know another series has done that.

What's great about it: More Gears
What's not so great: Changed elements of the game

Good debut album
on April 15, 2013

First and foremost, I will start off by saying this is the best album I've heard in a while that keep things strictly East Coast. I've been a Papoose fan for years and I must say I waiting for years for this album. I only gave it 4 stars because there is a song that I thought could have been better "What's My Name", but it grew on me after I listened to it for a while. I do not agree with all of the reviews about the album sounding outdated. True hip hop albums that have the potential of being classics are never really outdated, look at "Reasonable Doubt", look at "Ready To Die", and "Illmatic" those are albums that never get old, and they sound better than most of the hip hop albums that come out now that is suppose to be up-to-date in so many words. This Album came out on the same day as Lil Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being II which is new and includes the new school type production, 'Auto Tunes' and all of the garbage gimmicks that entered the hip hop world over the last 4-5 years and this albums blows that out of the water hands down. You can't even compare the concepts nor the material. Also, I will admit Pap does have the ability to put out and even better album in the future but this album is music to my ears and I can't stop listening to it. I am the type of person that don't even listen to the radio or even know about too many of these new artist that come out now talking about Molly's and all that BS. The last few artist albums that I heard and like is Meek Mill, and Kendrick Lamar. Those two young brothers have talent, but most of these other young dudes lack originally and is constantly disrespecting the art form of hip hop, they are simply rapping just to get paid with not much to say. Coming from someone that grew up when hip hop meant something, and to be an MC you had to have something meaningful to say.....
My Best Buy number: 557866340
What's great about it: Finally get debut album, overall nice album
What's not so great: Long album delay, some weak songs
