A very excellent Bluetooth speaker.

If you're looking for a really good Bluetooth speaker and still on the fence about which one to buy don't be. Get off of that fence and buy this one. When you buy a speaker this small you have to give up a little of something or in some cases a lot of something. This speaker will not shake the walls. Don't even shop for small Bluetooth speakers if you need that kind of performance. They make Bluetooth speakers that will shake the walls but you're moving up to a much bigger speaker set and about $500 just to join the club. The MegaBoom is well worth the money compared to similarly priced units that don't sound anywhere as good. I did some pretty intensive comparison shopping. I looked at Harmon kardon, Bose, fugoo, monster and a few other brands. I kept coming back to the MegaBoom. So one day I just bought it. I bought it from bestbuy and they only had a demo display that wouldn't allow me to connect to,it to test drive it for real. So I just bought it to play with it since I couldn't do it in the store. It was the only unit that was like that. All the others I could connect to and play my personal library through them. Lucky for Best Buy I enjoyed the performance of it and I didn't return it 30 minutes later. It's small footprint takes up little space and can also be hung on a hook. It fills the room with rich sound and quite a bit of bass. A suprising amount of bass from such a compact package. So buy the MegaBoom with confidence

Everything I didn't know I wanted.

I originally purchased a Kenwood unit for my truck but I had issues during installation. I returned that unit in exchange for this one. Installation went down smoothly. The unit sounds and looks great. The Bluetooth picks up my phone almost immediately when you turn the ignition. The handsfree phone works well and sound is clear although the sound quality cant be customized. The sound quality can be customized for the other modes. I really like this unit because it's simpler than the Kenwood I bought at first. The Kenwood had a nicer customizable display, a wide range of display colors, a door that covers the cd opening to keep dust out and the sound quality could be adjusted in every mode. It was an awesome looking piece but it wouldn't show you the time while playing in any mode and it was a complicated process to scroll through it's many menus to get anything done which would pose a problem while driving. All this is why I am so happy with this Alpine unit. It's simpler in its interface making it easier to use and it does everything I want without all the fanfare. And. Alpine has great customer service.
