I certainly recommend this film, but it still felt a bit childish. Not childlike - nothing wrong with childlike, especially considering this film. But somehow, even though it's animated, the (voice) acting of several actors came off very unnatural and overdone.

See this movie! It is a Must if you want to be able to have an intelligent conversation about race today. (Spoiler: ours is far from a "post-racial" society.)

Excellent acting, set design/graphics, etc. I never read the books so I can't comment on that aspect of it, but the film blew me away. Can't wait for the next one.

I'm not a huge fan of the type of comedy that Owen Wilson usually gets up to, so I was really pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. It's fun and hilarious and sweet, no potshots at millennials or mean jokes at all. Definitely recommend it very highly.
