While this is a good device, it is stuck in a boot loop and nothing I've tried has fixed it. Samsung is clueless and refuses to stand behind it.
According to Google, this model getting stuck at the "Samsung" boot screen is quite common.
Samsung has proven that they are incapable of engineering quality products as of late.Its probably best to just stay away from them.

Wonky configuration, quality problems

The good: This is a great laptop. Very attractive. The keyboard is nice for extended typing, and you get a lot for the money. Very good (and accurate) screen, which is important for me as I work in film.
Unfortunately, the ultra low voltage i7's integrated graphics just arent enough to drive the 4k resolution well. Windows shudder when minimizing and maximizing and I've seen the CPU usage spike to 80-90% simply scrolling through a webpage. The CPU's graphics core also was unable to go into an idle state, as simply handling screen composition had it running on all cylinders. It's passmark score had it in the 14th percentile for 2d rendering, and 7th for 3d -- not okay for an i7 build at this price. As a result, the battery life and graphic performance was garbage out of the box -- I had to change the desktop resolution to 2K to get anything decent and speed things up. The BIOS also doesnt have the option to use just the dedicated GPU -- you are at the mercy of nVidia's Optimus, which doesn's always choose the best GPU for the job.
Additionally, the fan sometimes has fits where it runs full speed even at a complete idle (system updates and firmware downloads have not fixed this. Power saving mode was used to discourage fan use also). This can easily drop the battery life at light load to only 4 hours, which is bad because I take this from work to school to a film set in one day. I see people complaining about this online, and every update that has been issued by Lenovo doesnt seem to solve anybodies problems (as of this review), including mine.
Also, after noticing some creaky screen opening issues, I discovered that the right hinge's upper-left screw is missing right out of the box. It just wasn't there -- or if it was, it came out during normal use in a matter of 4 days. Not cool.
Despite the good (and there are good things, for sure), I get the impression that Lenovo isn't paying enough attention to what they're doing for me to feel confident in this product, and I dont feel like I can trust this to hold up, even if I got a replacement. It will be returned in the coming few days. Also, having to drop the resolution for battery life and acceptable performance are simply things that the consumer shouldn't have to worry with.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is 2016... one would expect a wireless headset manufacturer to support aptX instead of A2DP. There is virtually no high end with these things, and the audio quality sounds like listening to a low bitrate audio stream. This is sufficient for calls only... listening to music with these is barely acceptible. The design is nice, the quality is nice, the battery life is phenomenal... but the audio quality simply isn't there.

Amazing speaker with no real drawbacks

If your budget can support a 300 dollar bluetooth speaker, i can't recommend this enough. The sound quality is amazing and very balanced across different frequencies and timbres thanks to what sounds like some clever digital signal processing, and its fully water proof up to 3 feet for 30 minutes! Battery life is also amazing, though not the highest in its class (but who cares. 20 hours. Lol). I have no complaints about the sound. Very solid and represented accross the spectrum. It feels exceedingsolid and tough as well.. i have no concerns with using it in real world conditions.
Rounding out the feature set is the UE app for ios and android that can turn it into an alarm, pair it with a second megaboom, and adjust the equalizer. I cannot elucidate how amazing it is to set this as an alarm because when ot goes off, you can just grab it and take it to the shower without missing a beat.
All in all, an amazing level up to the UE Boom. Its a faithful upscale and if your in the market for a tough, element-proof bluetooth speaker that sounds great, this is going to be the best choice at the writing of this review.
I only wish it cost a little less, but thats the price you pay for awesome.

I was reading pretty solid reviews for this particular speaker and was excited about purchasing. Upon receiving, I was impressed with the aesthetics of the speaker and 20+ hours battery but ultimately, I have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed in sound quality. My genre of preferences is typically Top 40, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Reggae, Alternative, and a bit of Rock and Roll. In the speaker's defense, I am a bass-head, which is a huge selling point for me especially for the price of this system (300 bucks), and it sorely lacks performance in bass. Speakers struggle to capture fullness of bass at low and high volumes and average around mid-volume. Picking up deep low bass notes--very flat to say the least and also non-existent. On the brighter side of things, it's loud if nothing else. Not the most crisp and full sound pushed out, but it is loud especially around 4-6ft away. The farther away, the sound quality diminishes. Overall, in my opinion of course, you can keep all the pleasantries--the weatherproof-ness, 20+hour battery, dual bluetooth hookup, speakerphone. Give me great sound quality and clarity; this speaker just doesn't deliver that for $300. Returning UE Megaboom for either Sony SRS-S5 or S7 or Bose Soundlink Mini

I found that the bass was great for a unit this size out of the box without using the equalizer, but it wasn't outstanding until i tweaked it.
try downloading the UE Megaboom app and adjusting the equalizer.
I found that the 'cramped spaced' preset smoothed out the middle-lows enough for the passive radiaors to react to the real bass below 150hz instead of the middle bass.

I got the Lenovo 710 i7 15" from Best buy . This was my first Laptop purchase since i am mostly a desktop guy.
the computer itself was very nice and worked totally fine and i loved but then i noticed the that top screen or top part of the lid when closed was not aligning properly with the bottom part. It was slight off to the right so i went ahead to return and exchange it and then did again the 3rd time...
seemed like all the 3 i got from best buy had same proble,m. The third one i got i opened it even without going out of the store. I showed it to 3 different employees all 3 times and no one was aware of it and had any idea of it.
I just talked to a lenovo specialist and she had no idea of it and wanted to me to send her so they can look at it since it was under warranty. I do not want my new laptop which btw i dont have it since i already returned to go to their service center and get it opened and then they try to fix that hinges or what ever that issue, I dont want my brand new laptop to be opened when i even havent set it up yet.
Overall disappointed no one knows any thing about it . Finny thing is that the hinges are in correct place and not stick out ackwardly or anything and yet when it closes it is crooked to the right and the edes of the top and bottom dont meet up
if anyone has encountered this please do help. Lenovo rep cant help.

Not only does my screen not close evenly, but the top-left hinge screw on the right hinge is MISSING. Simply isnt there straight out of the box.

I purchased this laptop after thanks giving. I was looking for some laptop which can handle moderate graphics, ease of managing media over DLNA server, as well as multitasking.
I use my laptop as central device to use all the electronic devices in my house through DLNA server over wi-fi. I stream movies to multiple TV's and other devices. I am currently using 4 year old Dell 2nd generation Core I5 with solid state drive and 4 GB DDR2 RAM and integrated graphics card with 1 GB shared video memory. this one was doing great till it fell from my hand (which lead to only 2 cores performing, and 2 GB RAM crashed) however if I limit to 1-2 devices in good wi-fi network and keep cooling fan on it still does good job.
while testing the streaming from this laptop I played a 4K movie simultaneously in my laptop and streamed the same movie to the Sony 4K TV. Both my laptop and TV could not play the video smoothly. Then I stopped the TV and played only on the laptop it would still not play smoothly, then I changed to multiple videos even from you tube. it could not handle any thing at 4K quality with out slowing the movie.
The 4K screen is hyped up Full HD sceen the picture quality is worse than MacBook pro retina display.
The NVIDIA GPU just would not start working, I was on phone and chatting with the online support for entire day with out any success.

Basic daily routine work like surfing on internet checking emails etc functions were also not feeling smooth, and it was hanging up with out even adding single file to the computer.

Its not just you, I had the same issues with performance. I also suspect that they could have used a better CPU if they chose a 4K screen.
Something that I did as a temporary fix was lowing my screen resolution to 2K -- it still looks decent and the battery and performance have dramatically improved.

I bought this after reading many positive reviews. However, I had a bad experience with my purchase. My lap top has yellow tint and had to use maximum brightness to view the picture some what better. I exchanged it with another one, but the exchanged one further worsened my experience. The display again has a lot of yellow tint and the hinge alignment went off on one side.on the second day of use,the laptop
behaved wielder and there were a lot of white and yellow lines and the display was gone. The sound was terrible. I returned it. The laptop in display at Best Buy had a very good display and the sound was good. May be the laptops sold in Lebanon NH and VT locations were bad.. not sure. But had to travel 200 miles in all with this purchase.( buying, exchange and return travel miles together)

The color you refer to is just a perception. The screen is actually a very accurate display (which is why I bought it -- i work in film). I think a lot of people arent used to it due to today's over-saturated panels.

I'm experiencing lag when using Google Chrome, is there a way to prevent this?
That depends on the type of lag -- internet related or performance related.
I have had no issues with the WifI ... but the integrated graphics can strain to run the 4k display.
Riught click the chrome shortcut and tell it to run with the high performance GPU -- or if battery life is of concern, drop your desktop screen resolution to 2K. It still looks good, but performs much better.

Does the SD card slide completely in to the slot or does it stick out?
I've read reports that it sticks out about 1/4 of an inch. I have not used one with it yet

No -- this chip is permanently attached to the motherboard, along with the CPU.

This model: 80V50009US is listed as having 3840 x 2560 (UHD) on a product comparison chart made by this website (BestBuy). However, on BestBuy's and Lenovo's product detail pages it's said to only have 3840 x 2160 (UHD). What's the deal??

Will this drive a 4K external monitor or two 1080p external monitors. I'm considering an office setup with one configuration or the other. Also, is there a good docking station that would work well with either configuration?
It probably would, but make sure your office apps will run under the Nvidia GPU -- it should be under the nvidia control panel.
The integrated graphics arent enough to reliably run the built in panel, so anything beyond the most basic setup will need the dedicated GPU

It has a universal button that will work with Siri or Google Now on android devices.
