I purcahse this lens because of the price difference between the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 w/o VR. This lens has great image quality and the the vc is awesome. But, the VC does need time too "warm up" when in use. When shooting, if you don't feel that "jolt" that indicates the vc is working, expect a blurry picture is hand held below 1/60 shutter speed. I usually fire off a pic beforehand to get the vc "warn', then its great afterwards. If the 24-70 is your be all or go to lens. I would get the Nikon w/o VR instead. The Nikon with VR is an overprice awful lens. If you need a lens for low light, then I recommend the Tamron

I love this camera and got it at a great price. The camera takes great pictures but some times the corners are soft. I use it for portraits and head shots and it performs great with the 85 1.8 and 70-200 2.8(Sigma). The body is small for a full frame but its a great start if you want to shoot FF. Crops are great for sports/wildlife, but FF is so superior in portraits, weddings and head-shots.

This is the most prolific professional lens used by pro Nikon users. Very sharp and excellent color. Obviously, this person doesn't shoot professionals with the very idiotic review presented.

What is being done about the over heating problem with the 4K
There are several ways you can get around the over heating problem. Disengage the image stabilization, open up the lcd screen, use a fan. But you have to wonder that you paid 3k for a camera that overheats, when you could have purchased a panasonic GX8 and saved 2200 USD.

Lense compatility
Can I use my lens from my old NON Mirror lens with a Sony a7Rll Mirrorless cameras ?
Yes, with an adapter. I suggest using Canon glass with sony mirrorless cameras. I have not found a Nikon adapter that works well. IMO.
