5 star event - 1 star Best Buy listing

Warnng! This is not a three disc set even if Best Buy has been listing it as such for several weeks. I contacted the local store GM days ago, an Asst Mgr days ago, called 888 Best Buy in whatever country, even contacted Building D in Richland corp office on Feb 3 2017 and this is still listed as a three disc set. There isn't a three disc set anywhere in the world for this release. One disc, that's it!

Disc Replacement Program

Written June 25, 2016 (with another error on another Star Trek release).
A few days ago, CBS Paramount released a statement regarding the disc replacement program due to the editing error (of the wrong video) that was on the restored master of the directors version recently released - and on your blu-ray.
Shipping date to be announced, but expect it in July 2016.
Here's the statement / information:
It has come to our attention that there is a slight master assembly error on the recent Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan – Director’s Cut Blu-ray release.
Fans who would like a replacement should contact our customer service department at:
wrathofkhanreturns@tce.com
wrath of khan returns at tce dot com
or call 1-844-898-4365.
The corrected product will be shipped free of charge.
It is always our intention to distribute the highest quality product and we apologize for any inconvenience this error has caused.
* It doesn't state this but I suspect the phone number is only answered between 9 AM to 5 PM pacific time Monday thru Friday.
At least, that was the usual information in one of their many statements like this in the past.

FOX Season 8 Disc Replacement Program

In response to complaints, Fox is fixing an issue with the black levels on The X-Files: Complete Season 8.
This problem affects all episodes in the set.
FOX has stated they’re replacing the entire season set discs, expected ship date in March 2016.

There is missing footage during the episode, THE MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS, on disc 3 of the widescreen version of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
- on both the Remastered Collection and Definitive Collection.
The issue is being fixed and consumers can get a replacement disc by emailing USHEConsumerRelations@visionmediamgmt.com.
Consumers should include:
1 - "Battlestar Galactica Classic Collection: BD" in the subject line of their email,
2 - the following text in the body of the email, "I would like to receive a replacement disc for (Disc 3, Episode "The Magnificent Warriors")."
Within 24-48 hours, consumers will get a response asking for their mailing address in the United States or Canada.
Shortly thereafter, they will receive a postage-paid envelope for them to mail in their disc with the missing footage from THE MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS.
2-3 weeks later they will receive a replacement disc with the complete episode.
Thanks to tvshowsondvd.com for their 6-4-15 posting.
In my opinion, regarding video quality.
1 - Full Screen version (found on the other release) - very good but not excellent.
2 - Widescreen version - below average (and it appears as if was re-mastered by someone other than those who re-mastered the full screen version).
I wouldn't say this is worth it above a $20 price tag, nor would I recommend this widescreen version based on picture quality.
If this is updated in the future, it will be posted under comments as Best Buy doesn't allow these reviews to be edited once posted.

This high flying release from the classic 60's TV series Batmantarring Adam West includes all 120 episodes of the show, following the titular hero through many exciting, sometimes psychedelic and always tongue-in-cheek adventures battling the likes of Catwoman, the Penguin, and the Joker.

Missing program content discovered and Warner Bros Home Entertainment issued the following statement yesterday:
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) will provide fans with replacement discs and digital repairs to the few minor technical issues
identified in its recent release of Batman: The Complete Television Series.
Amounting to less than five minutes of footage within the 50-plus hours of entertainment, the issues encompass one 60-second dropped
scene in the episode entitled "Marsha's Scheme of Diamonds"; a brief piece of rarely-heard William Dozier narration that originally opened the pilot episode, "Hi Diddle Riddle"; and an assembly of villain tags from the end of assorted episodes.
"The restoration process of this footage - spanning 48 years and two major studios - has been a super heroic task, and we deeply regret
even the smallest of glitches occurring in that process," said Rosemary Markson, Senior Vice President, TV Brand Management & Retail
Marketing, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
"We recognize our obligation to the fans of this landmark series, and we have worked diligently to identify all issues and provide
resolutions as quickly as possible."
To resolve these issues for consumers purchasing Batman: The Complete Television Series, WBHE will make available complete replacement discs for the discs that originally included the episodes "Marsha's Scheme of Diamonds" and "Hi Diddle Riddle."
The villain tags will be re-issued as an assembled string on one of the aforementioned discs and, as an added bonus, WBHE has acquired
rights and legal clearances to both a Bat-vehicle teaser that originally aired as part of the second season-opening "Shoot A Crooked
Arrow" episode, and one of the original promotional tags that aired on the original showing of the "The Duo Defy" episode.
Additionally, all fixes will be made to all Digital HD versions of Batman: The Complete Television Series.
To obtain the replacement discs, consumers who have purchased Batman: The Complete Television Series are directed to www.warnerbros.com/help/customer-service.
Worldwide demand for the Limited Edition box set of Batman: The Complete Television Series has been tremendous, resulting in widespread retailer sellouts and rapidly dwindling inventories heading into the holiday season.
To fulfill consumer interest, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced a new streamlined Blu-ray™ box set that includes all 120 episodes and matching enhanced content from the limited edition set, but without the added premium items or Digital HD copy.
Purchasers of this set will also need to utilize the customer service website to obtain replacement discs.

Movie 4 replacement program from Anchor Bay

For those who are interested in the disc replacement program, here's the info from Anchor Bay and Scream Factory (released the week ending 10-18-14#.
On behalf of Anchor Bay and Scream Factory, we want to thank everyone that has purchased the Halloween Complete Collection.
We hope you are enjoying it and all the work that went into bringing it to you, the fans.
Unfortunately there is an audio sync issue with Halloween 4 that has always existed on that film with every release.
We attempted to fix one of the problems prior to this release but in doing so, it created sync issues elsewhere in the film, which has now come to light.
For the past two weeks we have been working to fix the problems that have arisen and we have been able to fix the sync issues at the 46 minute mark.
We will be issuing a replacement disc to anyone that has been affected.
If you were affected by a Halloween 4 sync issue and would like a replacement disc sent to you, please follow these instructions:
In order to receive a replacement with the first batch being sent, send an e-mail to ABEHalloween4@Starz.com no later than October 31, 2014.
Include the following:

This collection includes all 25 episodes from the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the classic space adventure featuring Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, Captain of the Starship Enterprise, and his loyal crew as they attempt to keep the peace among the stars. All episodes have been digitally remastered for 7.1 sound and 1080p high definition visual effects.

CBS / Paramount flooded with complaints...

Finally, it's here in hi def.
However, CBS / Paramount has been receiving tons of complaints due to audio mix problems (vocals not centered but front left and right as well, also 7.1 tinny sounding on Haven with no 2.0 audio track on the disc for Haven) and audio sync problems in other areas.
You can't beat the deal with Best Buy and getting in with the additional $10 promotion. Eventually, these should get a disc replacement program going, so don't worry if you decide to buy this set. Just keep informed for when a disc replacement program begins so you can get disc 1, 6 for sure and probably disc 2 as well replaced when the time comes.
Pay attention to the CBS / Paramount home page news section in weeks to come!
What's great about it: Video and new remastered special effects
What's not so great: Audio problems with several episodes

i don't know what those 3 star and down guys were watching, this is a classic. robocop is one of the best cyborg movies around. there is action throughout the whole movie, what more could you ask for. you will enjoy this movie especially if your not some up tight critic of everything. there are not to many extras big deal. if that is what you look for in a movie then your not a movie fan.

25 gb single layer, MPEG2 @ 21 MBPS... that's why the 3 or less stars.
Standard DVD is about a third (or more) in video bit rate and not as dark in various segments, etc.
Not worth the cash to upgrade so MGM can get themselves out of financial trouble, as in return, they do not give us remastered anything!
It's about the quality, dude!

This is an update from my review as Best Buy doesn't allow edits of reviews written and CBS / Paramount has since begun the disc replacement program.
If you were concerned about your purchase and requested replacement discs by contacting CBS / Paramount (in care of Deluxe Media Management from Valencia, CA#, they began sending out the replacement discs about 8-29 or 8-30.
However, you should be made aware of another disc problem and CBS responded without telling anyone that they added another to the replacement program as many #including my own daily calls and e-mails# have continued to request that CBS / Paramount pay attention to additional problems.
What you'll receive: disc 1, disc 3, disc 4 and disc 5.
If you do not receive all four discs or haven't contacted CBS / Paramount yet, the contact number is 877-DELUXE6 #877-335-8936) between 8am to 6pm Pacific, Monday-Friday.
Enjoy the season 1 blu-ray as this review would now get 4 stars - if I could change it / edit my review that I am posting this comment to.

The fulfillment process for the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) replacement discs and digital repairs on
Batman: The Complete Television Series is in its initial stages, the first being the actual fixes and production of the discs.
Once this initial phase is completed, discs will be distributed.
To ensure you will receive replacement discs, consumers are directed to www.shipment-service.com/batman66 or to call
800-891-1311 to register and initiate the process.
If you have already sent an email to Customer Service, we have received your email and you will be contacted to complete the
registration process by early 2015.
The worldwide demand for Batman: The Complete Television Series is extremely high, and this process is being expedited as quickly as possible.
However, there are necessary steps to be taken, and a large number of fans to accommodate.
Please be patient.

FYI about the full screen version...

Available in the U.K. is the full screen only version that includes the tv version pilot, the episodes un-edited and Galactica 1980. If you price shop carefully and buy from a company you can trust, 25.00 pounds plus the 3.08 international shipping will cost you about $46.39 U.S. dollars once converted. It is region free and will play on any Blu-ray player in the U.S. The picture quality seems to match that of the Definitive Collection full screen version released in the U.S. No one knows if this will ever be released in the U.S. in this original full screen version only, but once I discovered how bad the widescreen version video quality was, this was the only other way to go to get just the original full screen version.
