Grainy picture with new blu-ray player

I purchased these HDMI cords which I thought would be a good value with 2 in the pack. However, the picture of the movies I attempted to watch with it was grainy, I had to use an older more expensive cord I already had.

I purchased in mid-December and so far I'm not totally sold on the Blu-ray player. When I initially played my 1st Blu-ray the picture was grainy. The regular DVDs play better than the blu-rays. In all fairness maybe I need to invest in a more expensive HDMI cord, but for now I see no greater difference between this and the regular DVD player.

I expected this movie to be better than it was. It took a total of 3 attempts before I made it through the entire movie. In all fairness, it could have been that I was tired the first time I tried to watch it and it did not capture my attention. But if it were excellent it probably should have. The idea of two worlds one up and one down (haves and have nots) seemed enticing until I watched it. I do see where some people could really like it as other reviews I saw were more in favor of it.
