It works but has an annoying whine that will drive you nuts in a quiet environment. I'll be looking for something else. My last Targus was great but failed in less than two years.

After 12 years with a troublesome refrigerator we decided to look at a new appliance. Since there were only two of us in the household, capacity didn't really matter. We were looking for the latest technology that would be energy efficient and trouble free.
The unit was delivered on June 1, 2014. All seemed good for about two weeks when the ice maker would not dispense ice. The chute was clogged. I emptied it. The next day the same thing happened. I referred to the owners manual that suggested we lower the freezer temperature. Went from zero degrees to minus 3 degrees. That didn't help. Lowered to minus 6 degrees. That seemed to work but the ice wanted to clump together. The ice maker is on the door. The ice clumping made me suspicious of the temperature in the freezer. I went out and purchased 6 dial refrigerator/freezer thermometers and put three in the freezer and three in the refrigerator. The next morning the freezer temperature was plus 14 degrees and the refrigerator was plus 46 degrees. Contacted Samsung. Suggested unplugging the refrigerator for a few minutes and then plugging it in. Sort of the old "reboot" the electronics trick. That didn't help. Set the refrigerator side to 34 degrees. The temperature wouldn't budge and go lower. Set the unit to power cool. That brought it down to plus 37 degrees but I had to turn off the power cool for fear of freezing the items in the refrigerator side. In the meantime, the temperature in the freezer was now going down to minus 14 degrees and would slowly creep up to plus 10 degrees. Then one evening we heard a sound similar to a muffled motor boat sound coming from the rear of the unit. It sounded like a weed wacker at idle was my next thought. Contacted Samsung. The suggestion was to have a service call made. I completed on online form. The service request form required me to scan my original invoice into my laptop and transfer it into Samsung's service request. I received a service request ticket number at that point. The next morning the weed wacker noise went away. I waited for a response. The response was in the form of an email. The email stated: 1. Defrost the Fridge for 2 hours. Make sure to remove all of the foods inside of the fridge. 2. Physical damage or any damage is not cover by the warranty. Y/N. 3. Set the unit into Serviceable position. Y/N. 4. If there is no manufacture's defect, customer will be paying for the service center's evaluation and trip charge. Y/N 5. Alternate phone number. Send us another service request including the troubleshooting you performed and we will get back to you again. This ticket will be close since your going to create another service request.
That was some email and I wanted to have someone come and take the thing away and drop ship it to the Samsung CEO's front door. I responded not to nicely to the email as you can imagine. After five days another email followed and stated that they would be sending someone to my home to look at the refrigerator. Two days later a tech came, looked at it and said that the issue could be with the main circuit board.
So now I wait for the tech to return with a new circuit board. I will update this review a few days after the circuit board is replaced. In the meantime I cannot recommend this unit.
What's great about it: Looks Good
What's not so great: Temperatures, support

SAMSUNGED PART II
July 27, 2014
Update!
The Samsung tech came to install two(2) new circuit boards on Friday, July25, 2014. He set the Freezer temp to "0" F and the refrigerator to "37" F degrees. After two full days, I see the following differences:
1. Refrigerator - 36 to 38 F.
2. Freezer - Minus 2 F to Minus 16F.
This is better but still not right. This can't be energy efficient.
Looks like another call to Samsung is forthcoming.

Could Be A Lemon 2 Follow-up
August 21, 2014
This is my third statement regarding this Samsung refrigerator.
Well, here we are in the 3rd week in August and the Samsunged refrigerator is being looked at again. I have seen freezer readings at 18 below zero and at plus 8 degrees. I have seen the fridge side stay at plus 46 degrees for hours. The tech had replaced two circuit boards in July. That didn't help. It only shifted the freezer temperature fluctuation from minus 14 to plus twelve to minus eighteen to plus ten. The other side of this fridge wouldn't cool to set point. Now it likes to hang at plus 46 degrees for hours before cooling to the set point of plus 38 degrees.
Stay tunes folks for another comment update one way or another. In the meantime, I hope you look the other way when it comes to Samsung refrigerators.

Could and Is A Lemon Part 3
August 21, 2014
Okay, the Samsung tech just left. He asked us to take all of the food out of the freezer so he could remove the shelves and drawers for the purpose of removing the back inside cover. A noise was coming that section. Pulled all of the stuff out of the freezer and put it into a very large cooler. He took the cover off, looked at a fan motor, spun it a few times and reinstalled the cover. He stated that there could have been a small piece of ice frozen to the motor fan. I never saw a small piece of ice. Then he put all the hardware back in and called Samsung tech support. he pulled the fridge away from the wall and removed a cover where the circuit boards are. Tech support had the service tech check a few items. The service tech then put the cover back on and pushed the fridge back in place. He then proceeded to call his office and ordered a new front control and an ice maker. He then turned the ice maker off and said to leave it off until he returns with the new parts "NEXT WEEK". He left and we put the food back in the freezer. I then had to go to a store and buy ice cube trays so that we could have ice cubes until next week. Of course the freezer temp will still be out of control at plus 10 degrees to minus 18 degrees and the fridge part will still hang around 46 degrees for hours. Some energy savings.
Stay tuned for the continuation of this "PATHETIC REFRIGERATOR".

The Lemon Strikes Again
August 28, 2014
Okay Folks, the saga continues. The Samsung Tech ordered and installed a new front control panel and an ice maker. The refrigerator freezer can now go all the way to or as far as the thermometer has a scale. It goes to minus 20 F and is trying to go further. The fresh food side stays around +46 degrees F and tries to go lower but can't. We cannot put fresh food or meats or poultry in the fresh food side due to the elevated temperature. It needs to be at +40 degrees F or less. We are eating out a lot and buying frozen dinners. Leftovers are non-existent. After a 30 minute discussion with Samsung I asked that this unit be removed and my money be refunded. Stay tuned for another update

FINAL LEMON
September 2, 2014
After 3-1/2 months of online chats, telephone calls and 4 service visits, I received word today September 2, 2014 that Samsung will have me trash this refrigerator and return the purchase price to me within the next 4 weeks after completing documents, taking pictures of the cord cut in two and removing the Model/Serial Number from the interior. Now the hunt begins for another refrigerator. I wish all of you folks good luck if you have this unit. Mine didn't perform as expected.
