Simple to Hookup and work for Shield, Mac/PC, iPad

This is an easy to use device. Simply hook up an OTA antenna, ethernet to router, power cable and download the software to the pc/mac to scan/save the OTA channels. I use it mainly to view live HD OTA channels on the Nvidia Shield, Mac/PC, and/or iPad. To view on the iPad there is the free VLC app that does work but some shows give an error and won't display- likely due to DRM protection. Overall, it's a solid device and works beautifully with Nvidia shield and PC/Mac. It can also be used as Plex DVR but requires the plex pass that cost extra.

Performs identical to 2015 model but lacks ports

To clarify this has same internal specifications (CPU/Ram) as the previous 2015 16gb release and functions the same. The shield TV itself is reduced in size but at a cost of removing the micro-USB, and microSD slot. On the front the IR-receiver is also removed. The remote is different too, it is now made of plastic, uses a coin battery that must be replaced, and does not have the 3.5mm headphone jack for private listening. The controller has been updated for ergonomics, google voice commands, and increased battery life due to BT connection. Overall, the Shield TV functions the same but is a re-launch to get the controller bundle out and save Nvidia in manufacturing cost by reducing the inputs of the 16gb and making the remote plastic. The 2015 Nvidia Shield TVs will get an OTA firmware update so both would have identical performance/firmware/software. If you have the old Shield TV then it's not necessary to get this. This does have a new controller but the Shield TV/Remote is a downgrade as it lacks the inputs and aluminum remote.

Not an upgrade in sound over previous gen

I was excited to try this but was disappointed that the sound quality is not as good as the X and X2 even with the EQ adjustments. These don't have have that sparkly treble from the previous gens. The fitment is superior but it lacks the highs found in the previous gens. The bass feels more controlled and tight but the treble in these sound veiled and tinny compared to the X and X2. So not much of an upgrade in my opinion. The drivers are smaller 5.8mm in these vs 6.1mm and they realized its not on par to the SQ of previous gens hence the need for customizable EQs which don't solve the inferior drivers. Stick with the previous gen.

Excellent Device for TECH gadget lovers

The update to Watch OS 3.1 dramatically increased the battery life to a minimum of 2 days of full usage on the series 1. Prior to that it was about one day and even less with the series 0. This is a great albeit unnecessary item, I say that because it is not essential. Everything this watch does you can just about do your phone (minus heart rate). But those who enjoy tech gadgets will LOVE this device. This has a built in pedometer, heart rate sensor, and an updated dual-core processor which is significantly faster than the original series watch. It does lack GPS, water resistance, and the brighter display of the series 2. But if you always have your phone with you then it will utilize the phone's GPS such as when using the Nike Run Club app. As for as the difference in brightness - there was never an issues with brightness with the original watch so this was just another marketing ploy by apple to beef up the series 2 differences. As for as the water resistance it will only benefit you if use this when swimming. What I do like about the watch is the notifications and being able to quickly see weather, text, emails, timers, physical activity stats, and scores. When using it while driving it does come in handy when someone calls because you can directly answer, listen, and speak to the watch. I wouldn't do it walking on the street but I find it very convenient especially for those who drive a lot. There is also integrated navigation and it works by vibrating to alert you when a turn or change is to made. It is also easier to glance at the watch then to pick up the phone and read texts so it does make driving a little safer. Text messaging uses voice dictation and is somewhat accurate albeit does not work that well in a loud environment or with background voices. The only issues I have with the watch is that sometimes text messages do not sync with the phone or fail to send. Accessing your daily activity stats through the Health app on the phone is also not as good as the FITBIT app- so there is some improvement needed there. Overall with OS 3.1, it is a much improved device then when the first original watch was released. If you're a fan of tech gadgets and Apple then this is a DEFINITE BUY.

I purchased strictly for PS VUE and can confirm it works great including 60FPS and lag-free (almost as good as PS4) guide navigation. It is drastically improved in speed over the 2nd gen fire stick ($40) which had too much navigation lag and capped at 30FPS. The Fire TV is much faster and worth the extra money as it also includes 4K and a gigabit ethernet port. It does lack VUDU and Google Play so not all apps are available and will not likely be available due to Amazon Prime proprietary service. Overall it functions great and is very FAST!

For most apps and the Amazon prime tv service it works fine. But if you want this strictly for PS VUE then look else where. There is simply too much lag in navigation and using the guide for the true PS VUE experience. It still works but is very slow in operating and navigating. PS VUE is also capped at 30FPS which is noticeable if you watch sports as the video quality is not as smooth compared to the PS4. I would suggest the newest FIRE TV, or NVIDIA SHIELD but that cost $90 and $200, respectively. I would only recommend this if you're not using it for PS VUE.

Very FAST and Preferred Media Player

I have a PS4, Roku 2, Apple TV 4th gen, Nexus Player and this device. This is by far the FASTEST in accessing and streaming content. With the addition of the Plex Server I can finally get rid of using my high energy PC as a server. This uses about 4watts at idle compared to my pc's 50-100watts. The shield itself works great but does occasionally have bugs and glitches such as freezing/controller disconnects/apps stopping etc. It is by no means perfect. I use it mainly as a Plex Server which does work fine for about 90% of the time. Sometimes I'll try to access the server with another device and the server will be missing. It can easily play and stream Blu Ray rips (30gb size) at original quality. To expand the storage you have to add a USB 3.0 External or MicroSD Card as an internal storage. It has 4k and wireless AC MIMO so both specs are up to date. The controller itself is bulky but surprising is very easy to use for navigating and volume controller. I did buy the remote but returned it because it constantly kept disconnecting. Overall, this is a solid purchase but does have bugs. I do wish the price was at about $150 and came with both remote and controller. I hope future updates address the freezing and stability issues.

Use the Netflix gift card to watch your favorite TV shows and movies on any internet-connected device instantly. Watch as much as you want, whenever you want. It's fast. It's easy. It's a better way to watch.

Once you redeem on Netflix you have to use the service. Can't pause or save it for later. BB offers discounts so better to buy it here.

Fast and responsive. Everything works as expected. Beautiful accurate true tone display. Very slim with superb battery life. Switched from iPad Mini 2 and this one is much faster and snappier. Web pages load quicker and the tablet is much more responsive.

Remove, clean, and replace them if your battery comes doa. It's a common issue.
