Best center I've ever had
on September 8, 2010

I'm upgrading my old system that had Boston speakers and a Denon 1707 to a DefTec based system with a Pioneer Elite VSX-32. I chose the CLR2002 for my center after hearing it in the mag room under different situations, including music and movies. This is one of the best center channels I've heard in a long time for under $700. The voices are very clear from the children's higher pitched voices to very deep male voices. Musically, this speaker performs very well and should have no problem reproducing just about anything you can throw at it. 80Hz seems to be a good crossover point to my SuperCube 2, along with the SM350's I have paired with this center. If you are wanting a great sound at a good price, this is the speaker to have. It is a little on the large side but fits in my stand just fine, and as other have said, the "sock" is a bit annoying, but worth putting up with for the sound this thing creates.
This speaker can also be "bi-amped" (google it for a full explanation and the benefits), which is nice to see in this price range.
What's great about it: Bi-ampable, great sound, aesthetically pleasing
What's not so great: Heavy, size, the "sock"

Great Modem
on April 29, 2009

Ok, I have to start off by saying make sure your cable provider offers DOCSIS 3.0 or will during the expected lifespan of this modem. While it will work in DOCSIS 1.1 and 2.0 modes, it really shines in DOCSIS 3.0 systems.
When I ordered my modem from online it stated that it would be back ordered for 1-2 weeks, but 6 days after placing my order it showed up on my doorstep, so right there we are on a great start. I took it out of the box, removed my old SB5100 and put in the SB6120. I then called Comcast (my cable ISP) and had them change the MAC address on my account. It restarted and I was online, 10 minutes tops on the phone. While I do not live in a DOCSIS 3.0 area yet, they are upgrading my area next month so I will then write a review once its on DOCSIS 3.0 and I can really open the taps to get some speed.
I have had this modem in place for 1 week already and it has been great, no lock-ups or random restarting. Its just solid as a rock, like my old SB5100. I use this modem on the business class 22/5 as the 50/10 is not available to me yet, but when it is I will get that to really test the modem. I have a gigabit firewall hooked up to this modem and its reporting I have a gigabit connection from the modem to my firewall, then gigabit to my network. This means I have a ton of room to grow, so I can't wait till Comcast really explores the options of this modem.
Bottom line: If you need a new modem or are in the market to buy a modem, get this one. Don't bother with an older DOCSIS 2.0 modem, spend the little extra and get this, look at it as an investment in future proofing your setup. The only recommendation to this is make sure your not using a cheap router as they cannot handle the speeds that this thing can deliver. Get at least an 802.11N based router, your old 802.11G or b router will not do it.
I will post a second review when I get DOCSIS 3.0 in my area to give a full picture of what this modem can really do.
What's great about it: Simple to setup, reliable, works, gigabit WAN ethernet port
What's not so great: it wasn't free

Great movie

This is a really good movie, but put into 1080p in a home theater done right, and there are very few movies that are CG that can even compare. With the clarity of HD DVD and a 60" 1080p screen, you can really appreciate the ammount of cg that went into this movie, and tom hanks just looks awsome.
So, grab the kibs and the wife, crank the stereo and watch a good family movie. Easliy a movie that everyone can enjoy.

Awsome drive

I have two of these in my gaming computer, and they help it run to its max potential. Very fast drives, not very hot, and not loud at all. I can barley hear them when the case is open. I can't hear them when the case is closed, and my computer is not a loud jet engine like some gaming machines. I have a pretty quite PC case, and these are not loud. I would recommend one for everybody that wants great speed.

Wonderful unit

I upgraded to this unit after I outgrew the 8-port gigabit switch I had. This unit runs great, and has lots of room for me to grow. I would recommend this to anyone that needs more than 8 ports for their home/office and need them to be GigaBit. One thing to keep in mind though, because it is gigabit and does have 24 ports on it, it does have a pretty powerful CPU. As a result it does have a fan, but this device belongs in a server room or telco closet anyways, not on your desk. Its not really loud, but its got a high pitch fan, where as a PC has a larger lower pitched fan. Just something to consider.
