Previously, I purchased the Netgear X6, but I returned it for the Netgear X-8. Prior to purchasing the Netgear X6 & X-8, my son would complain about buffering issues on his iPhone or iPad while watching Netflix or YouTube in his room. The Netgear X-6 fixed that issue, but when Netgear released the X-8, I was willing to pay $100 more because of the specs. With the Netgear X-8, I streamed Netflix, Hulu plus, HBO NOW, and YouTube in HD simultaneously on a X-box one, three iPads, and three iPhones in my son's room. There wasn't any buffering issues w/ any device (Note: the max speed from my ISP is 24 Mbps). The Netgear X-8 performs likes a beast, and it doesn't look cheap.

Bose Sounlink II...A-OKAY!!!

I recently purchased the Bose Soundlink 2, and it is absolutely phenomenal!! If you can adjust your EQ on your device, then it will blow you away. Obviously, if you're listening to Pandora or In-tune radio, it will sound flat because the EQ settings will automatically shut off when one goes on internet radio. Listening to any genre of music is amazing! Rock sounds excellent, R&B and hip- hop has the boomin' bass, New Age is relaxing! I have Monster's Beatbox by dr. Dre, and I love it; however, Bose soundlink 2 is compact and portable. It's almost half the size of an iPad. You deserve to get this!!
What's great about it: speaker sound, portable, blue-tooth connectivity, and battery life.
What's not so great: I can't complain. The Bose Soundlink II is a solid buy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

In my honest opinion, the X6 is a fine router, but with the X-8, I really didn't see the difference in performance; however, the X8 will soon have a firmware update for MU-MIMO which might be a big difference if you have a device implemented w/ that kind of technology (e.g. iPad Air, iPhone 6s or iPhones 6s plus). I have the X8 mounted on the wall, and while others have stated that the X8 gets hot to the touch; I've noticed to it to be a little bit warm, but not hot. And like the X6, I had to reboot the X8 every now and then. With all that said, I still think it's worth the upgrade. You can add more clients or devices compared to the X6, and I It doesn't feel as or look as cheap as the X6. The X8 is slightly heavier and well packaged, but. I think it's top of the box that makes it feel heavy when you make pick it up at the store, lol.

RANGE?

I have wifi in the house and need to use in garage also . . . sometimes I cannot get signal out there unless the door is open. Is this the best solution. I have a VsionNet router which is the one from my DSL provider and it is new - I could not find one that worked other than the VisionNet - also I am Mac Based (desktop). Thank you.
I have At&t Uverse, and their modem/router isn't that great. My son's room is 25 feet away from modem, and he couldn't get a signal. I purchased the Nighthawk X-8, and he now stream hid video or movies sour any issues. I tested the Nighthawk X-8 in my son's room, this time I used 4 iPhones, 4 iPads, and a Ps4 streaming Netflix, HBO now, and YouTube in HD quality. Not one device degrade in quality, nor buffer at all, and I am limited to 24Mbps from my ISP. You can install the Netgear on your iPhone or iPad. If you have any questions, you can go to Netgear's website. Then go to support, and chat with them.
