A must if you have multiple batteries! Sure, you can charge your batteries inside your camera but I would rather use a dedicated battery charger instead of having the GoPros components subjected to current just to charge the battery. Just seems like extra wear on the GoPro internals that doesnt need to happen. The ONLY real complaint I have is sometimes a battery will reach full charge but the status light won't change from yellow to green automatically but if you pull the battery out and put it back in the light will turn green if the battery is fully charged. Just a little quirk. It happens with all 5 of my batteries for my GoPro Hero 4.

I bought this power pack as it was on sale and it was highly recommended by Best Buy staff. I was however a little skeptical as this model wasn't listed on the manufacturers website. I am not sure if it is made specifically for Best Buy or what but so far I haven't had any issues. I am a Motovlogger and use the pack to charge my camera, phones or charge 2 GoPro batteries in the GoPro battery charger tucked away in my backpack with no issues. I've been able to charge my phone twice and I can usually charge at least one if not two GoPro batteries as well on a single charge. Overall I'm satisfied with the battery pack. The ONLY complaint I have is how it's charged. You HAVE to plug it into a 120V outlet like you would find in your house. You can't charge the battery pack via USB like some of the higher end models so I gave it 4 stars.
