I love this TV

I did a ton of research on new 4K TVs before buying this Vizio M Series. I have to say this screen is absolutely stunning. When you consider the feature set, it stands up against the best tv's at more than double the price.
I was considering the cheaper E series, but decided to go a little more and get the M Series. I am very, very impressed. The overall clarity of the pictures is far better than my old screen. The contrast is superb.
It even connects nicely with my Sony surround sound and blue ray player, which I was definitely worried about before my purchase. No problem. I turn on my blue ray, and my TV and surround sound are all on and ready for me to watch a movie.
Some people may say this is not a TV cause it doesn't have a tuner. I use an antenna. I already had a tuner box cause my old TV was made before the digital conversion. No big deal. A converter box is $50. The savings compared to other brands, it's worth it to not include the tuner.
Oh and the SmartCast is really neat. I've only played with it a little, but content once streamed, let's you go about using your tablet while streaming to the TV. It's really great. The one thing I've always hated about my tablet is it would stop playing youtube or such if I didn't stay on youtube. Sometimes I just want the audio. I've got to hook up the Digital Audio out to my surround sound and test this more, but in my testing, it worked very well once all setup.
This particular model is a bit hard to find in stores, they have it on display, but no stores near me had it. I opted for the free delivery and Best Buy was very good with the delivery service. They even let me reschedule for a day earlier with very short notice.

Will the Vizio M55-D0 tablet remote work on the M55-E0 TV since it has google Smartcast?

shouldn't be a problem. any tablet that can load the vizio smartcast app will work with the M55-E0

I have an older android tablet that I use. I was concerned cause some apps (looking at you HULU) don't run on my old tablet. But Vizio's smartcast loaded without problem. It works very well too with the M55-E0

What is the difference between the Vizio M55 eo tv and the m55do model.

I believe
The M55-E0 is the 2017 model. Has 32 local dimming zones. I have this model and it is excellent contrast.
The M55-D0 is a 2016 model. According to my research the 2016 model had 64 local dimming zones.

According to a review site, the 2017 model scored a 7.0 on local dimming (on a scale of 10)
The 2016 model scored a 8.0 on local dimming. I'm not sure most of us mere mortals could determine the difference.

Does this have to soap opera look when watching cable? if so, does it have a way to disable that effect?

I do not notice any kind of distortion, We watch very little broadcast TV, mostly the local news. Butt the clarity of the picture is excellent.
