Like Watching a Live Stage Show

The first shows we tuned in were the latest episode of AMC's "H E double L on Wheels" (can you believe that BestBuy won't let me spell the actual name?) and an episode of "Bloodline" on Netflix. We were immediately wowed by the striking realism of the images, due mostly to the depth created by Vizio's precise display of side-by-side lights and darks, what I guess an artist might call chiaroscuro. Sports are great too. Our old TV was a 60" Sony Grand Wega (720p, 1080i). The VIzio upscaling to 2160p gives an even sharper image.
One negative which I hope will be corrected soon, concerns the inability to view DolbyVision feeds from Amazon. It seems that Amazon and Google have yet to agree on terms for an Amazon Google Casting app, so in the meantime you have to use an intermediate source like our Sony WiFi-capable Blue Ray player to watch something streamed from Amazon since Vizio's Google Tablet must have a casting app on it in order to stream a source through it to the TV.

Have used this for six months now and no manufacturing defects. I like the temperature probe to get roasts done to perfection. Also like the warming drawer to keep food warm while other things cook and the cooktop warming center to get coffee mugs warmed up (I can never remember to turn them off though). The bridge element is great for griddles and the 3-element burner does boil fast. But I must agree with other reviewers that the timer alarm is much too quiet to be heard unless you're right there in the kitchen. Also the time of day display is much too small to be read from the dining room table. And if you wear reading glasses like me you'll need them to determine which sector of the control knob applies to the portion of the 3-element burner or bridge unit you are using. A word of advice: you must read the user's manual to use the oven because the procedure for selecting cooking type, setting the cooking temp and optionally the cooking time, is not that straight forward. Neither is using the special features. You may be used to a conventional oven where turning the knob from off to bake or broil is all you do to turn on the oven. Not so with this model. To begin with there is no knob. There is a touch sensitive display and you must first select the cooking type: bake, roast, convected bake, convected roast or broil, then set the temperature with the 0-9 number pad, and only then touch start oven. Setting a cooking time after which the oven automatically shuts itself off complicates things even further. To muddy the waters even more there are two other timers that do not turn off the oven when they sound the oh-so-quiet alarm. When you finally get the oven turned on, it displays the current temperature while it's preheating and then beeps when it reaches your set point. The display defaults to 175 degrees until it gets hotter than that. All that said, do experiment with convection roast or bake as things cook quicker and/or require a lower temperature. Do I like the divided oven feature? Not really. It sounds cool, and complicates the setup even, more but we pulled the divider out a few months ago to make room for a roast and never put it back.

How far apart are the legs I need to know if i have to change any furniture

They're almost at the ends of the unit, so you'll need a very wide stand.

The legs are out at the far corners of the set. Can they be adjusted toward center for shorter display stands?

No. you must buy a wider stand.

Does this model (NE58F9710WS) have the divider to convert to two separate ovens like the chef's collection model? And if so what is the difference?

Yes, it has the divider. I don't know how it differs from the chef's model, but it lets you set a separate temp for the upper and lower portions but within a limited range. It also complicates the setup procedure before the beast will do what it thinks you want to do.

Locking controls?

Is it possible to lock the range top controls (not just the oven) to prevent them from being turned on if bumped, walked on by cat, etc.?
No. You bump you pay.

How often should the oven cooling fan run?

On my range the oven cooling fan seems to run about every other time that I use my oven. I am on my 4th unit, the other 3 (all the same model) were inconsistent in the cooling fan also, as well as all of them having other issues, which is why I am on my 4th range.
It runs when you use convected cooking and also whenever it wants to cool down the oven after the oven turns off, which is just about all the time. Ignore it.
