Will Not Work During "Peak Hours"

I bought the Arlo Q camera with high expectations based on features and free 7 day video cloud storage. I spent 15 minutes setting it up and all seemed fine. However, when I subsequently tried to view the camera live and set up an activity zone I could not access the camera. After many attempts I simply gave up and called Netgear Arlo support, who told me the problem was on their end. They said they did not have the bandwith to handle the feeds from everyone's cameras, and that I could expect the cameras to not work every day during "peak hours". Well, peak hours now seems to extend to much of the day.
These cameras do not have local storage, so if someone breaks into my house during these hours, I guess I'll have nothing to show police. Not good for a security setup.
Returned.

Easy, Quick Setup

Purchased my Arlo Q today from another vendor. I had it up and running in 15 minutes linked with a Netgear Nighthawk r7000 router. Smooth setup without any hitches. Great videos. The sound is so, so, and I am unable to to talk remotely. But what else would you expect from such a small device and you do not need great sound since it is a security device rather than a communication device. I already have the Arlo Q accessible from my computer, cell phone and tablet. I returned the last Canary today that was the third Canary in a row I could not get to link up to my network so I had great hopes for my new Arlo Q and it appears to be all I expected. So far my only concern is the bright blue light on the front of the camera. I may cover it up with a small piece of white medical tape so it will not longer draw the attention of an burglar.

How to turn off "Status Light"

Just go to Settings - My Devices - Status Light - toggle off. It's that easy.
