A must have in my every day bag.

Best Buy has offered a variety of white label branded accessories for your big ech purchases at the store. They tend to offer everything you can use for your mobile devices; from cases to cables. So, I was surprised to see this charging cable organizer. It offers the ability to hold both the MagSafe charger for your phone and an Apple Watch Charger as well.
In the box you’ll find the Best Buy Essentials Apple MagSafe & Watch Charger Organizer and some basic warranty documentation. The item is made of a soft, yet tough, plastic casing with a molded strap that can be used to store the organizer while folded. You’ll need to provide your own Apple MagSafe and Watch charging cables, as the organizer does not include them. Given that I’m going to use this for travel, I already dedicated cables that would normally be stored loosely in my laptop bag.
You simply maneuver the charging cables through the openings on either side, and simply slide in the chargers in place. They don’t require any adhesive, as the molded plastic does a great job holding them in place. If you ever need to replace them, you can easily bend and pull the chargers out without any hassle or excessive force required. I will say the small molded flap would often give me trouble when trying to keep it secured. It did require some additional adjustments to get the pin in place, but once it was on, it held on even with a stuffed travel bag.
The larger square space around either charger is a hollowed out section for you to wind the excess cable into. It also allows you to only unroll enough cable for the plug nearby on your night or charging stands. You just tuck in the USB cable in and fold up the organizer to store it in your bag. It worked best with 3 to 6 foot OEM style cables, with the USB C being an easier fit. It did’t require me to use any additional velcro ties to keep the cables in place, as the small opening does an exemplary job keeping the cable stored in place.
Overall, this has become an everyday item in my everyday bag. It’s made pulling out my chargers easy once I was checked into the lounge or hotel during my business & leisure travel.

Denon is really best known for their line of home audio products, designed to give you optimal sound with some of the best receivers available. I went into this with the same expectations, a quality pair of headphones, with amazing sound, minimal audio quality loss, and superb usability. I can honestly say, they didn’t disappoint!
In the box, you’ll find the Denon charging case, the two ear buds within, a charging cable, various sizes of tips, and some basic documentation. In order to maximize your use, I’d highly recommend installing the Denon app, which is free in your compatible app store. Pairing with your device is as easy as putting the ear buds on, and following the voice guidance, you’re directed to find them discoverable via Bluetooth. I found the initial pairing process was easy, and the ear buds were immediately recognized and paired with my iPhone in a matter of seconds.
Without performing any of the app calibrations, I was pleasantly surprised with the audio quality and bass response. However, once you’ve opened the app, you’ll find that you can customize the audio using a feature which measures the sound in your ears. You’ll hear a variety of tones, some low and some high, that allow the ear buds to calibrate to your hearing to provide the best audio quality available. This took a minute or two, but once it was done, it provided a personalized EQ like setting which really brings the audio to a whole new level of awesome. After I performed the initial calibration, I rarely ever adjusted the audio for any type of content moving forward. I even turned off the EQ built into the settings on my iPhone and relied only on the Denon applied settings for sound.
Listening to a variety of content, I was blown away with just how clear the audio was. The Denon’s even provided better sound than my previous earbuds when using noise cancelling. Taking these on a flight, I did notice that most sound was filtered out, and while it’s not as great as earphones that cover the entire ear, they easily outperformed my previous headphones as the go-to for travel. The included case also charges them when not in use, and does an admirable job of keeping them charged for most of the day.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the audio experience and the easy to use app to set everything from taps to holds to control volume, call answering, and play/pause. The bass is probably some of the best I’ve heard from “pro” level ear buds, and is probably the highlight of the audio journey I took wearing these during my travel. The bluetooth connectivity is also excellent, and I noticed I didn’t lose connection at all during use (compared to others I’ve used prior). Denon really delivered with this one, and I’m hopeful you’ll give them a shot over 1st party headphones for your device.

Easy setup, clear picture, even at night!

If you’ve owned the Arlo line of security products, you’re probably used to needing a hub to setup your camera system. So, I was surprised to see that Arlo now offered an “Essential” camera which only required use of the Arlo App and your WiFi connection. In the box you’ll find the camera, a USB charging cable, a wall plate, and the screw on mount. Charging the battery was a simple as simple as uncovering the protective flap on the bottom and plugging it in. My camera took about an hour to charge before it was ready to go.
To mount the camera, you’ll need to use a wall plate, which allows you to screw into the wall. It’s fairly straight-forward to install, and the manual does a good job explaining how to place it. The mount itself will require you to screw it into the camera using a Philips screwdriver, and then it essentially snaps into place with the wall plate. It’s important to note that the Essential camera can only be mounted from the rear of the camera, so keep this in mind when deciding on placement. In my case, I mounted this outside of my residence overlooking an area where I park my vehicles.
The 2K resolution does offer more clarity than the standard Full HD cameras, and while not 4K, is very clear for objects that are closer to the camera. The camera can also illuminate it’s immediate area when used for night time playback or when capturing motion. While this does offer color night vision, I found that I often had to toggle off the built in spotlight to capture it clearly. The camera would then toggle it back on, leading to a basic night vision picture. I’m not sure if this was due to the environment, or just a default of the camera. The 130 degree field of view offers nice coverage area.
The motion detection does a great job triggering the spotlight and starting a recording. You can also set up activity zones to set where the camera triggers motion alerts. There is built in 2 way audio, and does require the person to be a bit closer to the camera to hear you clearly if it’s a louder environment. However, the Emergency Siren (which can be set to trigger or enabled in the app) is LOUD, even waking me up in the middle of the night, since it’s right outside my window. There is almost no way this wouldn’t scare someone if they weren’t expecting it. Given this is their essential line of cameras, you won’t have much for local storage, so keep that in mind if you’re wanting an “all-in-one” solution without a subscription for some features.
Overall, I was satisfied with the ease of set up and the clips it’s captured so far. The motion hasn’t skipped a beat, and does a good job ignoring smaller movements (like a bug flying by) compared to my previous Arlo camera. It’s also nice not being limited by a hub, but I do miss being able to store my recordings locally without it.

Excellent sound from a small form factor!

The Sennheiser audio family has a reputation for providing some of the best sound devices available for both professional and consumer. They offer a wide range of audio products, with everything from headphones, speakers, and are now introducing the AMBEO line of soundbars for TV. They offer three different variants of this soundbar, with this one being sans subwoofer as the “Mini” model.
In the box you’ll find the soundbar, power cable, a remote, and some warranty material. Unboxing the soundbar is met with a nice premium wrap around the speaker, helping to keep it clean until you remove it from the box. There is only an HDMI which supports ARC and USB port. It features bluetooth connectivity and supports Apple AirPlay 2. Using WiFi, you can also enable voice assistants like Amazon Alexa (which is what I opted to use) and Google Home. Given the size of the soundbar, I was surprised that it offered Dolby Atmos, DTS-X, MPEG-H Audio, and also includes 360 Reality Audio (a codec I’m not terribly familiar with). The remote offers most of the buttons you’ll likely need; such as volume, source, night mode, voice enhanced audio, and various EQ settings for movies and music. Personally, I kept mine on “Adaptive” sound, which allowed the speaker to adjust based on the content I was playing.
For such a small form factor, It boasts 7.1.4 surround sound allowing for more immersive sound from just the AMBEO Mini alone. This particular model supports the use of a subwoofer, which can be purchased separately. Setting up the sound bar is fairly simple using a free “Smart Control” App which allows you to take advantage of additional audio EQ options and enhancements. The soundbar also supports TIDAL, Spotify, and even has Chromecast built-in for those with Android based devices.
The sound can be calibrated once you’ve set up the Mini using the app, and even allows you to adjust the center channel audio. After a quick firmware update, I was up and running in a matter of minutes, with only an HDMI cable connection required on my TV. I was surprised to see that my Apple TV immediately detected the ability to play Atmos when watching movies in my library. The sound is full, the bass is surprisingly enjoyable, and the mid and high tones come in clearer than my previous soundbar. The night mode does a great job balancing the audio for those late night viewing parties, all without the sudden loud booms during an action flick. The smaller form factor made this a great fit for my bedroom media chest, and given the full sound I didn’t bother picking up the subwoofer.
Overall, I’m happy to report that Sennheiser really delivers with the AMBEO Soundbar Mini. The small form factor allows it to fit in almost any listening environment, it produces sound you’d expect from a much larger soundbar, and the bass was plenty for my listening enjoyment. This is a solid buy!

A standout entry level PC

Alienware is often one of the first brands me and my family think of when we’re looking for an “off-the-shelf” gaming PC. This is one of their higher entry level systems, with a nicely paired Intel Core i7 13th generation processor (the 13700F) and Nvidia RTX 4060Ti. I will note, the 4060Ti in this system is the lower 8 GB version of the card, but will play most games at the highest settings when set at 1080 resolution.
In the box you’ll find the R16 PC, a power cable, a basic keyboard & mouse, a WiFi antenna, some Alienware branded stickers, and some basic warranty docs. The PC has 3 USB A, a USB Type C, and a headphone jack on the front panel, under the clever Alienware logo power button. There is also a side glass panel, allowing you to view the inside and the lighted Fan, and the Alienware radiator cooled processor. It comes preconfigured with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, a 1 Terabyte SSD, with room for another M.2 SSD expansion. I did find that 1TB SSD seems to be about the right minimum to start, but if you’re a gamer I’d recommend a fast external or adding another SSD for expanded storage.
The PC comes preinstalled with Windows 11, and didn’t have a ton of pre-installed bloatware. You will have the Alienware software, which can be used to check support options, and even configure the lighting. This PC’s gaming sweet spot is 1080p to 1440p for those 80 to 100+ FPS gameplay. Anything over that and you’ll notice a drop to the 30 to 50 fps on some of the AAA games; although if you’re playing an RPG you might just be happy with the higher resolution and lower frame rates. My primary games of choice are MMO’s, and I found 1440P offered the best balance of frame rate and performance. The card also supports Ray Tracing, although you may notice a slight performance hit when using it on higher resolutions.
The included keyboard and mouse don’t really feel like the best gaming components, but they’ll do the job effectively until you’re ready to upgrade to something a bit nicer. The RGB lighting on the case and the LED Fan are a nice touch, and really standout when looking at the minimalist case design. The PC stayed cool regardless of game I was playing, and it played most every game at max settings when using 1440p resolution. You’ll also be happy if you’re a movie or audiophile, as the rear IO offers an optical output and additional outputs for surround sound. The PC also comes pre-installed with WiFi, and the included Antenna simply screws into the two points on the back of the PC. The graphics card has an HDMI port and 3 DisplayPorts for use with multiple monitors.
Overall, this a great entry level gaming PC, offering the lighting, clear side panel, and performance of the 4060ti with a Core i7 Processor able to play the newest games. The included Xbox GamePass trial gives you something to play from the start, and I found the updates to be fairly minimal compared to my last PC purchase. I’d recommend installing some additional storage for the added game install space; especially if you have a large game library!

My favorite PS5 Headset

The Sony INZONE H5 headset is probably one of the best headsets you can pair with your PlayStation 5. This is a great improvement over the previous Sony headset, with much clearer highs and miss, while delivering deeper lows for an immersive gameplay experience overall.
In the box, you’ll find the Headset with attached microphone, a charging cable, a USB receiver with a toggle for PS5 & PC use, a headphone cable, and some basic documentation. To work with your PlayStation 5, make sure the PS5 is toggled on the USB Receiver, and plug it into any available USB A plug on your console. The connection is instantaneous, with the mic arm placement enabling mute when positioned up. The microphone is clear, at least from what I’ve heard from my friends when playing online, the stereo sound is better than my previous Sony headset, and the noise reduction made sure my dog wasn’t overpowering my online party chats.
There is a button to adjust the volume of game and chat to find the right balance for you. I personally prefer the party chat volume over gameplay, since I’m usually on an first person shooter, playing team death matches with my friends online. On the other earphone you’ll find the USB C port for charging, and the volume roller. The headband has comfortable padding, allowing you to take advantage of long life battery for longer gameplay, without the headset fatigue found with others. I should point out, the claim of 10 minutes charge for 3 hours of gameplay, is surprisingly accurate. I actually got about 3 1/2 hours of game-time from a 10 minute charge
The Sony INZONE H5 also work with the same USB receiver, while plugged into an available USB A port on your PC and the selector switch set to PC. It’s plug and play, and didn’t require any additional drivers when I used it the first time. There is also a headphone jack to connect to any standard 3.5” headphone output. When used on PC, the microphone will work for chat apps or for your online broadcast using your preferred streaming platform without any issues. The mute function works the same way, with the boom mic positioned up and back.
Overall, the INZONE H5’s do a better job than most others on the market, and are an excellent option for those wanting a Sony audio solution, designed with their PS5 in mind.

The best smart vac I've used!

The Shark Detect Pro is one of the newest and most tech-filled smart vacuums to hit the market in years. It boasts a self-emptying feature that can go up to 60 days without needing attention, automatically adjusting its height to transition seamlessly across different flooring types. Equipped with LIDAR technology, it captures more dirt from your floors and expertly avoids potential obstacles in its path.
The box comprises the robot vacuum, a large base for charging and self-emptying, an odor neutralizer filter, and two supplementary side brushes. The base incorporates a pre-installed waste basket that can be removed for content emptying. The "Odor Puck" requires installation, is user-replaceable, and can be easily put in place with a simple twist. To access scheduling and various targeted features, you'll need to install a complimentary app.
The App provides you with an overall view of what the Robot Vac is doing at any given moment, whether it's mapping your space or going through one of the scheduled cycles. My flooring consists of tile, engineered wood, laminate, and several area rugs. The Shark Vacuum excellently navigates between surfaces, even lifting itself onto each area rug without getting stuck. It was also remarkable to observe the Shark vacuum avoiding objects like the dog's water bowl, unlike its predecessor that spilled water before redirecting.
You'll notice the LIDAR doing its job to scan the area and even hear the vacuum motor kick up a notch to capture whatever it deems a dirt threat. The app allows you to trigger the vacuum to begin cleaning on demand and adjust the scheduling. Having small dogs, I found myself emptying the bin at least once a week due to their shedding, but discovered it wasn't nearly as full as expected. The self-emptying feature alone saves you from having to empty it daily, while the odor neutralizer has done a great job keeping the smell to an absolute minimum.
Overall, I'm really happy with my Shark Detect Pro robot vacuum! It hasn't been stuck once, includes the self-emptying feature and odor neutralizer, and has almost eliminated the need for me to sweep. With its ability to effortlessly transition between different floor types and an impressive capacity to pick up pet hair, this device has become an essential tool for keeping my home free from pet hair. The app's scheduling feature and targeted cleaning does a great job ensuring my space is consistently clean. If you're a fellow pet owner looking for a smart vac that doesn't clog regularly, invest in the Shark Detect Pro.

Great webcam for the at home working professional!

Logitech has been known for their vast line of PC accessories for decades, and has been one of the best selling webcam manufacturers having released various HD webcams for both consumer & business. With the shift to “distributed working,” many professionals are now either traveling for work, or working from home more often. Having a standard built in webcam often leads to blurry or overly processed images that leave a lot to be desired.
Welcome the Logitech Brio 100 to the chat! In the box you’ll find the camera with attached (non-replicable) USB A cable, a privacy cover installed, and a simple warranty guide. The camera is plug & play, offers full HD resolution, and also includes a small LED light to let you know when it’s on. It works on both PC & Mac and doesn’t require any additional software to function
If you’d like to tweak the picture for the camera, you’ll need to install the Logitech Options+ software, which is free from Logitech directly. As of now, there are still some features “coming soon,” such as change to the auto-exposure, shutter speed, ISO, and eventually you’ll be able to adjust the low-light compensation. The app allows you to toggle the auto white balance (on by default), adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness. For those users that require it, you can also toggle between 50hz and 60hz (60 is default). You also have the benefit of using your Logi account to back up your device settings. The attached stand makes it easy to setup on your desk, or mounted above your monitor. I will say this lacks the threading on the stand, so you won’t be able to use some of those fancier camera mounts. However, hanging over my desktop monitor and on my laptop worked without issue, not once shifting around when I would bump into my desk.
This device has worked for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and for those that use it for work Meta’s Workplace Chat application, all without any issues. When you first power the camera on with any of those apps, you’ll notice the camera image adjust automatically to the lighting environment. I did notice that in lower light settings, the camera would automatically adjust the picture to enhance the brightness. This worked well when I had a small key light on, but you’ll notice near black out if you’re in a dark environment. The microphone works extremely well, with others even commenting how clear I sound during conference calls. It worked so well, I made it the default mic, instead of using my headset mic.
Overall, the camera offers a great value, given the 1080P resolution, clear microphone, and the privacy slide attachment allowing you to block the camera when not in use. The small form factor makes this easy to stow and go in your every day carry back with your laptop, and the included cable is long enough for most applications. I do wish this offered a USB C option, as my laptop lacks a USB A port, but this was easy to rectify with a USB hub and/or a USB A to C adapter. This is a solid choice for the working professional!

Logitech has been a leader of gaming accessories for PC and Game Consoles for some time now. Over the last decade alone, I’ve owned at least 5 other Logitech gaming keyboards for the various generations of PC’s I’ve built. The Logitech G PRO X TKL LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Keyboard is a portable, ten-keyless, premium mechanical keyboard. It’s compatible with both PC and Mac, and allows for an impressive lagless connection over USB, using the Lightspeed wireless connectivity, and Bluetooth. These impressive ways to connect make this perfect for those who want to perhaps use the keyboard for your Gaming PC with Lightspeed, and then use it on the go with your Gaming Laptop over bluetooth.
In the box, you’ll find a premium storage case, the enclosed keyboard wrapped in a premium like protective padding, a USB A to C cable, the Lightspeed USB adapter, and a USB C adapter that can be used to connect to the included USB cable. This allows for placement of the LIGHTSPEED adapter closer to your keyboard. The bonus of doing so, means you can also use the same cable to charge the keyboard while using it.
The Logitech G HUB software is used to program the various features. I found this worked on both Windows and MacOS (current generation M2 MacBook Pro). You have a variety of programmable options, such as lighting effects, creation of custom macros via assignments, and saving to on-board memory (to name a few). The variety of preset lighting effects offer enough variety, that I barely made it through customizing my own. I was happiest with the lighting and color wave effects. The keyboard also features a volume wheel, and the F Keys on Mac impressively mirrored the F Keys of the Mac keyboard; allowing, for instance, brightness controls. You can also customize the keys to perform other keypresses, and even assign macros for use in games.
The keys are responsive, allowing for no lag gameplay, while offering a satisfying key press that doesn’t require a lot of pressure. I found the keyboard to be quickly responsive during FPS and MMORPG games, allowing me to feel more confident playing with each key pressing win. You can tell Logitech is aiming for the “Pro” gamer, while also making this an easy pick for a new gamer all the same. The feel of the keyboard is high quality, with a metal top casing and a solid 50-ish hours of battery life. I was easily able to use the keyboard over multiple gaming day sessions before the breathing effect I set came on. Even when charging, you can simply plug it straight in using the included USB cable, and keep on gaming.
Am I happy with this Logitech Keyboard? Absolutely, it’s now my primary gaming keyboard for my gaming PC, and I’ve already taken it on a work trip with my gaming laptop. If you’re just looking for an easy to use, plug & play keyboard, this is a great choice with a potential for more. New gamer, and advanced gamers alike, will love this keyboard.

Great Mounts for your GoPro!

Insignia has been known for making valuable accessories for many of the purchases you make at Best Buy. Whether it’s for your TV, your gaming console, and even your cameras, they’re known for offering the best bang for your buck of any white label brands found in retail stores. So, I was happy to try out the GoPro Accessory kit for my GoPro Hero 10. I use my GoPro mostly for my own vlogging, and to showcase my vehicle with video taken while attached to my car.
This particular accessory kit comes with a variety of useful items, including a Chest Strap, a handheld tripod (which extends like most selfie sticks), a head strap for those 1st person style shots, a floating handle for those of you who want to use this in or near bodies of water, and a suction cup mount. All of this can be unwrapped from their plastic bags, and placed in the included case. The included case has some velcro attachments which can be used to organize the items, and also has two thumb screws for the various mounts included in the box.
While I’m using a GoPro 10, this will work with a variety of GoPro models (and other action cameras), as long as they support similar mounting hardware. Setting up the GoPro on each of the mounts can be down using either the quick release buckles that are included, or the tripod mounts with the included thumb screws. They have a glossy look and feel, and the straps for the chest & head offer the ability to tighten the fit when worn.
I was also pleasantly surprised with how well the suction cup mount worked on my Car. The previous kit I used (an off-brand online purchase), didn’t do the best job staying on the car. So, I already had some tether wire handy to place it on my vehicle. During my use, I found the suction cup held on better than my previous kits, and never once fell off while driving lower highway speeds. The thumb tighten points were also easy to mount the camera in position, and didn’t shift at all during the drives I used them on.
Overall, I think this is an excellent accessory kit for any GoPro user out there, and even those picking up their first one at Best Buy. The carrying case, easy to use mounts, and the variety of the accessories included is a huge value add. This is any easy buy recommendation.

Can they work independently? Is there a microphone in each piece so you can just switch between the 2 to gain the most amount of battery time?
Yes, they can work independently. However, the battery time was approx 5 to 6 hours with non-stop noise cancelling use before I had to charge them. Even so, about 10 minutes in the case gave me another 1 to 2 hours of use without issue.

How comfortable are they? Do they feel like they're going to fall out with rigorous exercise (running) or do they have a secure fit a majority of the time?
Took these on a run outside, on a treadmill, on a bike ride, lifting at the gym, and never once fell out.

I can’t understand why it can’t be connected to Ps4. Any idea out here?
This is actually a limitation from Sony Computer Entertainment, in regards to the PlayStation 4. They only allow pairing of officially PlayStation licensed headphones designed for use on the console. Even though these were designed by Sony, they weren't designed for use with the console. There are various 3rd party dongles you can purchase to use unsupported bluetooth headphones, if this is what you're trying to do.

You can use either speaker mode, or ear bud mode. There is a toggle button on the device to select either sound option. If you're in ear bud mode, it shuts the speaker off. You just wear it the same way, no need to re-adjust the way it's sitting for speaker mode.

You can, using the included optical cable. It's best to connect it to your TV if you have multiple sources (e.g. gaming consoles, DVD, Bluray players, etc.).
