Enjoy your favorite tracks with this Philips DS3205/37 speaker that features Lightning connectivity for charging and playing music from your Apple iPhone 5 or compatible iPod® or iPhone device. A 3.5mm audio input offers flexible use.
Pros: The sound quality is great for such a small form factor. The design is modern. It has a nice weight to it. It functions great as a speaker.
Cons: It ONLY works to playback music from your iTunes library , or, it can also work as an alarm clock by downloading "DockStudio" by Philips from the app store (Which is not noted on the box nor in the documentation, I figured this out on my own).
Don't plan on using ANY of the many relaxing sound apps, internet radio apps, or any other app for that matter with this speaker dock. If you try to, no sound comes out from the speakers, Only music plays through the built-in iPhone music library, or through their downloadable app mentioned above.
Funny caveat, I did some tinkering to see if I could find a workaround to the no sound from other iPhone apps issue and did discover that while the music was playing, I switched to another app "Star Wars Pinball" and at that point, I could hear the sound effects from the game over the music. I tried pausing the music and then going back to the game, thinking that maybe having the music app running in the background it would fix the issue; WRONG. No sound from the app while the music was paused.
So, the potential for the audio from all apps to come through the speakers is there, but Philips, for some unknown reason, decided not to implement it straight out of the gate. It's a shame really, because this speaker system really does sound great for it's price range.
I had the Bose sound dock for my iPhone 4 and it had no issues working with any of the apps I threw at it.
It's really a missed opportunity on Philips part. If it had this functionality built in or activated (which according to my testing, the potential exists) I would have given it a 5 out of 5 stars.
Sadly, I can only give it 3 out of 5, for great sound quality, but that's it. I'm going to recommend it if you're only going to use it as a straight up speaker to play music, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
What's great about it: Sound quality, Form factor, Size
What's not so great: Does not produce sound from any app, other than music app.
Keep your iPhone 5 or 5s secure with this LifeProof 1301-01 case that features a sealed design that protects against water, dust, shocks and impact. The ultraslim design adds just 1/16" as measured from the center of the phone and weighs less than 1 oz.
NOBODY can hear you when you speak to them. You have to hold the phone so close to your face for the person on the other end to hear you that it's ridiculous. Sad, because otherwise, its a sharp case, but to use on your iPhone... COMPLETE FAIL!
What's great about it: Protection, waterproofing
What's not so great: IT'S UNUSABLE AS A PHONE CASE BECAUSE...
I saw this in the theatres 3 TIMES when it was released. Truly a magical journey. The storyline is very interesting, and the use of 3D is not superfluous. It truly adds to the wonder that this film exudes.
I would honestly say, that this is the BEST use of 3D since Avatar. A definite movie to add to your collection, I will revisit this one time and again.
Film buffs will love the subject matter.
What's great about it: Storyline, acting, cinematography, use of 3D
