Stream 4K media, Facetime with friends, and enjoy lag free gaming simultaneously. This tri-band D-Link router sends the clearest, fastest signal to each of your devices, based on which tasks you’re doing, so you won’t have to worry about a slow or interrupted connection.

Red Tarantula is great

This red tarantula looking router not only looks great, but it is very easy to set up with any browser. Worked immediately upon plugging it in and password setup took a couple of minutes. Range is great and manages many devices without any loss of speed.
Only issue is for ongoing management, you must upgrade Java and most browsers have it locked due to security risk, so you must do a workaround.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Enhance your home network with this ARRIS SURFboard eXtreme SBG6782 cable modem and router, which delivers up to 1750 Mbps Wi-Fi speeds and up to 343 Mbps download speeds for reliable operation. The 3x3 MIMO antennas offer a range of more than 450'.

Is this compatible with AT&T which was recently bought out by Frontier in CT

I have only high speed internet with Frontier which used to be AT&T. I stream Netflix on 2 different devices. Will this be compatible with my provider and will it stop freezing on one device during streaming?
It should be compatible, as all cable modems have an ethernet outlet.

This unit is so fast, that if your video freezes on any of your units connected, it is not due to the D-Link router, but to your internet download speed. Check your speed running www.speedtest.net and see if you are getting what your provider is promising you.

Bear in mind that WiFi speed is a function of the quality of the router (This is the best) and the distance from the router to your devices, so if this unit is in the basement and you are on the third floor, speed will suffer significantly. Place this unit in a central location for maximum coverage. Mine is in one end of the apartment and reaches at high speed to the kitchen 20 mts away.

what modem do I need

As this is a new breed of router are there any necessary modems that need to be used.
Can you advise us on the best one to use with this model and your other models eg the 5300.
The modem you need depends on the internet service you have, if you have coaxial cable (TV thick round cable) or DSL (phone line), then a cable or DSL modem is appropriate. First check with your service provider. Many times your provider gives you a modem, some charge a monthly fee and you are better off buying one.

Any modem that converts your incoming signal (DSL or coaxial cable) into a ethernet cable signal (similar to phone cable but wider) will work with this router. From your modem you run a cable (supplied with this unit) into the incoming plug of this router and you are all set.
