I spent several days researching heart rate monitors. I bought this one because it was truly waterproof. However, I had some reservations about the vivosmart 3 based on reviewers who noted the heart rate monitor was way off. Those reviewers were exactly right. I knew I was in trouble when I took it out of the box, put it on, and it said my sitting resting heart rate was 99 bpm. I put on my polar heart monitor with the chest strap for comparison and the vivosmart recorded 108 bpm while the polar heart rate monitor recorded 84 bpm while I was walking. That's just insane. I also agree with reviewers that the screen is fuzzy and not crisp at all as is shown in the pictures. Such a disappointment. I had high hopes with reservations based on other reviews I had seen. I've had this 24 hours and it's going back.
