Now that iMacs don't come with optical drive, I've been looking for a drive to to upload my CDs and personal DVDs to the the Mac. Since I have several mini DVDs I needed a tray or top loading external drive. I stumbled upon this Pioneer model, which not only met my basic requirements but also added blu ray writer capabilities and is USB 3.0, which most and even Apple's SuperDrivive are not, for slightly more. It was worth it.
