I bought two of these for my kids to build their first gaming pc's. Checked reviews/benchmarks all over the place and for the money there is no better cpu for the task of gaming. Anything that will outperform it will cost you 1.5-3X as much money.
It does not have hyper-threading; however, for gaming this is NOT a problem. Hyper-Threading has very little impact on gaming. (In my personal opinioin, a processor with four or more cores has next to no need for hyper-threading each core. It wouldn't bother me if you could "one-click" enable/disable hyper-threading, but you can't. You have to disable it in the system BIOS (mostly because after boot, operating systems like Windows will get very angry if processors simply disappear.....
Great for overclockers (though I don't let my kids do any overclocking.) This is simply based on all the reviews I have found.
What's great about it: FAST, No Hyper-Threading, Unlocked Core Multiplier, etc.
What's not so great: No complaints...

Fully modular power supplies are easier to install, but cost a fair bit more than these. I bought parts for my two kids to build their own machines (I.T. guy here...) These power supplies have been installed on two gaming machines (single graphics GPU) for 3 months without issue.
Note : If you are going to run the latest and greatest graphics cards GTX680/690, I would probably suggest 750W+.
What's great about it: Output is stable, budget price for a brand name.
What's not so great: Ease of Install...

GREAT Headphones!!!

How Often Used:Daily
Great headphones. Sound quality is amazing. Handles a very wide frequency range. Highs are crisp, lows sound clean. A bit pricier than I'd like, but I think they were worth it.
I use these for monitoring my musical instruments. (Electronic drums and a bit of electric guitar. (Mostly drums## Best sounding headphones I've ever owned. #And I've had some pretty nice headphohnes...)
I looked at the Bose noise cancelling model that's about $100 more. Sound quality was equivalent, but you were paying almost the full $100 on sound cancellation. #Electronic noise cancellation, ... so they did do their job VERY VERY well.) The problem was that I use my headphones at fairly high volume most of the time, and while I trust Bose for sound quality, I don't trust them for durability at high volume...
These were also more comfortable than the Bose model I tried on...
What's great about it: Durability, sound, comfort
What's not so great: Pricey, shorter cord than my previous headphones...

Using in my primary gaming machine. No RAID, ... just one drive. In FPS (First person shooter) games, map load times are reduced to almost nill. (Even in Battlefield 3, load times are only a few seconds, as opposed to 30-45 seconds with the 150GB WD Raptor drives I was using before.
Reads and writes at just about 500MB/sec (real world, and before it's had a lot of file system reads/writes/deletes, which are known to slow down SSD's drastically.
Important note : This is the first Intel SSD with a chipset from a 3rd party. It has the SF-2281 (Sandforce) chipset; HOWEVER, ... it had a proprietary Intel firmware that appears to solve the BSOD issues that have plagued that chipset.
Obviously, the price is a bit to take on, ... but it's well worth every penny... Honesly considering switching out the primary drives in my other machines for these.. Startup time for Win7U has been reduced by about 80% with this SSD over what I had and that's with all my software installed...
What's great about it: Speed, reliability..
What's not so great: Same as all other good SSD's,.... pricey...

Good gameplay, Multi-player problems "already..."
on November 10, 2010
Posted by: JeffIllinois
from Peoria, IL
Got this on release day, and played most of the evening. MW2 had several issues early on that Black Ops is bringing back to the table. Multi-player in parties has been improved to allow party chat; HOWEVER, it has the exact same problem with allowing parties to start a match without players getting kicked out of the match and party.. (And sometimes the whole room disappears.)
They also haven't fixed the Host Migration problem they had with MW2. (If the host leaves, it is supposed to migrate to a different users machine and then continue, but that only works about 50% of the time. The rest of the time, it fails completely, taking you back to the main menu, and losing any "match bonus" points you would have received at the end of the match, had it finished out.
The graphics are quite nice. (At least on 360.) There are definite improvements over MW2 when it comes to effects. Explosions look more realistic than they did in MW2.
Some of the issues that really annoyed players in MW2 have also been fixed, which really seems to be bugging people who took advantage of the previous issues. (Example : The "Noob Tube" has been fixed so that while a direct hit will usually kill, it likely won't take out 3-4 guys at the same time anymore... Noob Tubes were a HUGE exploit in MW2. Named such, because they were typically used most by "New Players," or people with VERY limited skill sets for console gaming...
Weapons damage has obviously been changed in Black Ops as opposed to MW2, making some weapons more powerful, and others less. Some are still pretty ridiculous. Sniper Rifles that will kill you if you're hit in the toe, Sub-Machine guns that do next to no damage unless you're hit by 6-8 rounds., etc... Shot guns that kill from too far away, and are 10 times more likely to get "One Shot, One Kill" than a MAC10 from the same distance firing 4-6 rounds to anywhere but the head...
What's great about it: Graphics. Most Weaponry, new Killstreak rewards
What's not so great: Multi-player "Noob weapons," Multi-Player Match Making/Party Use

So far, I'm pretty happy with this one.. Unfortunately, too many good games came out at the same time, and I've been pretty well addicted to Warhawk, so this one hasn't gotten much play. It's another great 1st person shooter, and the game play rivals all the previous COD series games. I can't complain at all.

Dr. Aiden Krone is a former professor of Applied Physics at MIT, notorious for his unrivaled brilliance and obsession with Thermodynamics, Advanced Propulsion and Quantum Electrodynamics (QED). Despite his increasing tendencies to demand control and secrecy, he became the founder and lead physicist of a classified Time Travel research program. Over a decade later, Krone's program had successfully developed the world's first time-traveling suit technology. However, as the program's equally secretive decision-makers demanded this technology be adapted for military applications, Krone's feelings of self-entitlement and anger grew. He secretly desired a new existence, a new world where his scientific endeavors could be shaped and experienced without outside interference. The combination of Krone's mind and his suit technology gave him the ability to create and control another existence — an existence where a man of science could finally operate without restrictions and do so within a place where science itself was properly respected — regardless of the effects on humanity. It is now up to you to trace Krone's last known appearances and stop his tyrannical rule over Alpha District. In a twisted world where scientific accomplishments reign, it's up to you to don the Beta Suit and master time to become the ultimate weapon.

The controls for this game a pretty good, ... work the way you need them to. The AI is pretty good, (Once the bad guys see you, they come find you.) The graphics are VERY good. (Though many scenes are a bit darker than you would like in a FPS.)
The disadvantage to this game is that much of the time, you don't know what is going to happen next until it happens the first time, and if you aren't prepared to use the "timeshift" to reverse or slow down time, ... your basically dead, and you try it again until you get it right..
What's great about it: Control decent, AI is pretty good, graphics excellant
What's not so great: Try, try, try again...

I was obsessed with Tiger Woods 05', and this one is even better. Graphics are better, game play is a bit more fun. It is a bit more difficult than 05' because your putting is much like your chipping was on 05, with grids showing you how much roll in different directions, but no tigervision, and no putting helper (how much to left or right, and no how much forward or back to make a put) also, more reliant on how much of your stroke you use (based on controller) than 05' was. Still very fun, and I still give it 5 stars!
What's great about it: Online comparison play, fun multiplayer modes
What's not so great: Online cheaters (EA is dealing with this best they can)

Ported from PS2????

Ok, .. the actual racing in the game is relatively fun (but no more fun than any of the previous NFS games.) However, the graphics were not impressive at ALL for a PS3 game. I haven't looked this one up, but based on what I see in the game, ... it appears it might be a direct "port" from the PS2 version of the game.
All in all, ... A waist of money (Even at $30, which I think is what I paid for it.)
What's great about it: The "racing" parts are fun, ... but that's about it.
What's not so great: Graphics, redundant game play.

Fun game play "for a while"
on November 14, 2007
Posted by: JeffIllinois
from Peoria, IL
A friend of mine let me borrow this one, because he was bored with it. I've played it for several hours, and while it was a lot of fun in the beginning, it seems to get old more quickly than most racing style games. The control is good, and graphics are very decent, just the game experience itself gets slightly redundant. Assuming the game was enjoyable for 6 hours, ... that's $10/hr, which is still slightly cheaper than going to the movies. And I may re-visit it again in the future, and buy my own copy when it ends up as a "PS3 Greatest Hits" game in 2-3 years.
What's great about it: Enjoyable control experience
What's not so great: Gets old after a while.

Not your fault, but being loud should be expected.
April 19, 2013
1. Matsui doesn't make hard drives. Not sure who gave you that info, but your Mac more than likely has a Seagate or Western Digital Caviar drive. (Probably Seagate, though.)
2. This drive is a RE4 (Raid Edition) "ENTERPRISE" drive. They are not designed for home use, and when compared to the noise comming from the cooling fans in most of our servers, these drives are "quiet." They just aren't quiet enough to be in a home computer environment. From quietest to loudest you have the WD AV-GP, Caviar Blue, Caviar Green, WD Black and then the RE4's.
3. There is nothing about installing a hard drive that is worth $100. It is one of the easiest parts you can install in your computer. With the invent of "youtube" and other sources, you can easily find step by step instructions or videos on how to install your hard drive. Once you've done it once, ... you'll never waste $100 on installation again...

You may have simply need to make changes in your BIOS. You probably should have spoken with an I.T. professional. (Not a kid working in an electronics store.. An actual pro..) I probably could have helped you solve this over the phone.....................
P.S. Compatibility issues really aren't something to wrong a bad review over... It's not the products fault that your computer wouldn't accept it, ... or that you didn't know how to set it up...

Could have been a great mouse
By Regelos
After a bunch of research I settled on this mouse since I want to buy something local and easy. I loved the mouse for about the first few days I used it and I encountered a charge problem. This mouse will only charge itself 10% of the time and on multiple computers will only do it after a restart, and even then inconsistently. I contacted support(within 4 days of purchasing) and I was told to go buy a new rechargeable battery, which just offended me because for 150 bucks on a mouse they should send me the part that was broken for free. After buying a new rechargeable battery it didn't fix the problem and since support takes multiple days to respond (I'm up to weeks now on my last response.) No go I've now decided to eat the 150 bucks and just replace it.
I will not buy another razer product again there support borders on rude and are completely non-helpful.

Just an FYI - USB 3.0 chipsets are not universally supported and usually don't have legacy kb/mouse support in bios either. On top of that, ... neither the mouse or keyboard send huge amounts of data in short spans, so you shouldn't have any need for them to be on USB3.0 anyway..

Without knowing the model of your device, it's hard to say. But my first guess would be "probably." If this is a projection TV, you may be in luck. Prices on projection TV bulbs have come down a lot.

Samsung "smart" 4K TVs, are the remotes IR ?

Specifically the Samsung UN55HU8550FXZA, does the remote send IR, so I can program my system remote to control the TV (at least for the standard features)? Having to use another remote is a deal breaker.
Unless stated specifically that a device uses RF (Radio Frequency) technology for the remote, you should assume that they are always IR (Infrared.)

There is a specific HDMI cable for the LG47 LE5400 because I am having problem?

I just bought a new TV, LG 47 LE5400, I connected the HDMI cable and when I change the channels they go in black , statics and then the imagine. I already changed HDMI, Cable box and moved the TV where i have the second TV LG 42(not problem with the 42 works well) and does the same. But when i put the component cable that comes with the cable box works well. Returned it, got the second TV same model and still does the same, before i return it and get different brand I give another chance.
Yes and no... There are different revisions of HDMI cables which specify data throughput, and sheilding requirements to avoid interference.

For a cable box, ... I would expect that it's unlikely to require the latest and greatest, and likely and HDMI cable should do the trick.. I would question whether the HDMI cable has a defect, or perhaps the TV does...

is there s router that i can use my usb modem in

I assume you are talking about an aircard provided by a cellular company. The answer to that would be "no." Equipment that does specific tasks such as that are typically three to five times more expensive than other similar equipment... How to setup a router

I want to have internet connection for my ps3, but i want to know how to set up a wireless router.
i have dsl.
WHich wireless router is compatible for my ps3 and my desktop, windows vista
Pretty much all of them... You would typically use wired (ethernet) connection to the computer, and use wireless for the PS3.... If you can't use a wired connection to the PC, you'll need a wireless card for that.

I believe the wireless in the PS3 is 802.11g, so you would not need to use an 802.11n router (more expensive) unless you have other devices that use "Wireless N."

is it possible to sync sony 55 led lcd tv remote with ps3 for blu ray?

No.....

PS3 remotes are not Infrared, like television remotes.. Instead, they use Bluetooth. (Like your cell phone communicates with a wireless headset, or the audio system in your car.) There are bluetooth remotes available for the PS3, or you can purchase a dongle for the PS3 that allows you to use infrared, but you then have to have a remote that is compatible with that third party device.. (Which usually means using a decent/high end universal remote...)

Monster Cables HDMI Cables Prevent Mounting Flat Panel Correctly

I recently purchased a Panasonic TC-P58VT25 plasma HDTV. I decided to mount and install myself. The Magnolia store employee recommended a Sanus VLT-15B1 mount. I attached the mount to the wall but the TV is unable to completely be in the upright position because the Monster HDMI cables stick out from the back of the TV and hit the wall.

So, is this mount compatible with this TV or is there something special that must be done to the wall so the mount/TV can rotate to the upright position?
Welcome to Panasonic/Matsushita..... They don't think like the rest of us... The television should have been designed so that the cables pretrude from the bottom or side of the telvision, rather than sticking straight out the back....

How do I convert NTSC to Pal?

Computer......

On local devices (components) you would need to spend a great deal of money to convert NTSC to PAL... it's not worth it, in most cases... A PC/Computer can be used at far less expense, using capture hardware and conversion utilities..
