These sound fantastic and the active noise cancelling is as good as the Bose. I usually use wired headphones but these will definitely be my travel headphones going forward.

These are fantastic headphones. After owning these, it is easy to see why they are so highly recommended. If you have a mostly quiet environment and a headphone amp these will suit you well. They have a very open sound stage and sound great with most genres of music. Sometimes I have to take them off to make sure my speakers aren't playing. If you're considering these, they're definitely worth getting. You won't be disappointed unless you already have something at this level or higher (HD 650, hifiman he-400, etc.) Because of these, I'm done buying headphones until I can afford to drop at least $1000 on a set.

If you're looking at these you probably already have a good idea of how well they perform. Just want to add my opinion to assure anyone thinking about these that they are great for the money. I would go so far as to say that they're about as good as you'll get for closed back, over ear headphones under $300. Great sound for the money!

I usually don't write reviews for albums but I wanted to get the rating up for Biophilia. Another review states that it's "very Bjork." Umm.. Yeah. You should know what to expect then. I usually have to be in a specific mood to get into Bjork. Well today that mood struck. I listened to this album, for the first time, on my 7.2 system and it was fantastic. I mostly listen to music in stereo but this album lends itself very well to surround sound. I enjoyed it so much that I just purchased the live CD/Blu-ray combo through Best Buy. Highly recommended... If you enjoy Bjork.

I'll keep this short as you can do much more extensive research around the Internet and get much better information from the experts.
I love these headphones. They have replaced my Audio Technica M50X as my go-to closed back headphones. Sadly, my beloved AT's have been relegated to secondary TV headphones. My Sennheiser HD600s are still the gold standard for critical listening. Especially since they are open back and have an exceptional soundstage. However, when I don't want to fuss with my amp and reducing all ambient noise, (you hear everything while wearing the Sennheisers) I use the Sony's.
One of my favorite aspects of these headphones is the build quality. They just feel premium. The joints are smooth, the earpads feel great, and they are very comfortable for long periods of time. They come with two cables but I only use the basic one. I never use headphones while I'm out and about so I have no need for an in-line mic.
Again, as far as sound quality goes, I'll leave that to the golden eared individuals who can tell you much more than I can. However, I will say that I love listening to these. They're just fun. The bass is plentiful and punchy, without being over-exaggerated. The highs never seem to be too harsh. The sound is very enjoyable all around.
I'm extremely glad that I purchased these and recommend them to anyone looking for a great set of over ear closed-back headphones.

I am currently using this receiver to power two MartinLogan Motion 60xt tower speakers, a Motion 50 center, and four Motion FX surrounds. It can easily push these power hungry speakers to comfortably high levels without overheating or clipping. I highly recommend this receiver.
