Took them out into the Arizona sun and a very large sunspot was easily seen and resolved. A bit tricky to line up the small exit pupil, thought they were defective at first as I was getting all black. TIP: Get one eyepiece on the sun and then adjust width until the second one comes into view.

Arrived with dents in multiple locations. No evidence of damage on the box or inside packaging. Very well packaged in fact. My assessment would say it was put in the box damaged. Not the fault of Best Buy. Having to haul this back to a store however negates the benefit of shopping online and ship to home. Returned for refund.

Like quite a few other reviews on Amazon, Bluetooth would not reliably connect and stay connected. I happen to have a Sony Xperia Z5. Also the app has no temp graph capability nor can it alert for high and low set points like the non-Bluetooth RF model can. Also you cannot toggle between probes on the temp display/transmitter. Only interaction other than power is C/F select and bluetooth on/off.
Don't waste your time with this. Get the legacy RF Maverick thermometer.
I will be returning this at the earliest opportunity.

Forget arguments about 4K, and hardware specs ... how about actual side by side picture quality evaluation? I purchased a Shield and connected it to my 65" Panasonic plasma and even my wife could tell the reduced picture quality vs. our Apple TV 3rd gen. Test video was Smithsonian Channel, Air America - Vermont. That program is high quality 1080 HD content. The Shield is a cool device, but forget about it if you have any sort of critical eye towards picture quality. Google a bit and you will find other people finding the same thing with Netflix 4K Shield vs. Native Netflix player in their TV.

I am so glad Best Buy also sells (online) a starter kit for the LED strips. I initially thought I would have to buy one of the two 'bulb' styles offered in store when my main intent was to have strip lights above the kitchen cabinets. They are awesome!

You can't use the device without creating an account with Breathometer with your personal information and being logged in. All results are saved on their servers. The fine print in the terms and conditions also stipulates that there is NO WAY to delete the data once it is on their system!
Lastly even though they prominently show the Google Play Store logo on the package, leading you to believe it works with Android phones, it only works with a couple Samsung phones and the new Nexus phone. My 1 year old Sony Xperia phone and my wife's Nexus 7 tablet are not supported.
VERY MISLEADING product. No reply from Breathometer customer support on my concerns after one week.
Best Buy was very gracious in accepting it back as part of their customer satisfaction return policy.

When you use your tv's USB for power it will take a bit over 1minute to start up.

Bought the white lightning cable version, LED's stopped working the next day. Tried several charging wall adapters. No luck. Was pretty cool while it worked. Fortunately it is still within Best Buy holiday return/exchange period.

I bought this scanner because of the really good reviews: it can do a great job on docs, three dimensional objects, with provisions for negs and slides. The inclusion of Photoshop Elements 9 is a tremendous asset and makes this scanner a fantastic deal, in my opinion. BUT, not thinking of anything negative about updating my new iMac to Mavericks OS X, I did so and I immediately lost the scanner function. Now I can't use the features that make this a great scanner but rather must use the Mac Image Capture feature which is okay but not what I wanted. Epson says they are "working on the driver update" but that means a wait of unspecified time.

I just upgraded from the Samsung note 3 to the Xperia z3v and I am in love. Everything from my 3D smart TV to my nfc speaker is Sony branded in our home. Btw, the speaker connects with one tap even if the nfc feature on my phone is off. (my note had nfc but the dang thing would always have issues connecting) The 21 megapixel camera is amazing and I love how the camera button on the side focuses on soft press and capture on hard press just like any digital camera would. The biggest value for me is that it is waterproof. Great phone all around.

Previous phone was a Nexus One (yes, had it for a long time)... I'm accustom to Google's intuitive Android interface and the Xperia Z3c is very user friendly.
Having purchased the Xperia Z Tablet when it first came out, I was already familiar and very pleased with the layout, function and performance... The Z3 compact was exactly what I was looking for in a phone - full featured, powerful processing and quality build - but MUST be a reasonable size for pocket carry and typical phone use (I can't stand the brick sized phones).
The Xperia Z3 Compact is super fast performing, perfect size and lightweight - Sony hit the mark in those regards!
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars are the following:
* Power button is in a very odd place - just above mid way on the right edge. This makes it very awkward when using car mount (which squeezes phone from each side to hold in place) and is just plain annoying when turning phone off and on
*Dedicated camera button on lower right edge. This is useless for me and often gets pushed inadvertently - bringing up the camera with long press (typically by mistake).
*Ear bud jack on the left top edge... what the heck??? 2015 and people still use wired ear buds? Isn't everything Bluetooth now?
*the phone size is great - and the slick, sleek look and feel is cool... but it's very slippery - definitely get a cover of some sort (for protection and for better grip) - I have ordered a gel type cover, but sadly it wasn't from Best Buy (they don't sell Z3c accessories).
Had Sony placed the power button in the left side of top edge, the volume rocker switch on the top 2/3 left edge and omitted the ear bud jack and camera button, it would be perfect!
Aside from those minor flaws - this phone is outstanding! I was tempted to buy it when it first appeared here on BB - but thankfully I waited a week and it was on sale for $450 (great price for this phone)... even at full price of $530 it's a great buy for a phone of this caliber.
I won't get into the technical specs (you can review those) and all the geek stuff (there's a bunch to rave about)... but I will say this phone hit the mark with size, style, performance and function! I highly recommend it.

I've been very pleased with this phone. I upgrade from a mid-tier to a flagship and there is a world of difference. If you are a fan of phones that fit in your pocket, especially on a byop plan, you can't do any better. Nearly half the price of it's two biggest competitor, the galaxy alpha and iPhone 6, it matches them in every category that counts and beats them outright in many of them.

I got to thinking that making an evaluation on one channel like Smithsonian might be unfair. So I installed Ultraflix .... yes I know it's UHD but the Shield will output UHD as 1080HD, and WOW the picture is great. Also watching ESPN3 right now hockey 1080HD and it looks better than anything DirecTV puts out.
All I can say is the content on Smithsonian Shield vs. Apple TV was quite a difference but maybe Smithsonian adjusts the stream based on the device you are accessing with ... just a theory.
But the Shield is a KEEPER!

It's a shame sony doesn't market well in the states but I've been using sony phones for awhile and they operate like no other. The z5 compact has all the bells and whistles as the flagship phones, only downside is the screen is 720 but honestly you can't really tell. Do yourself a favor if your looking for a phone that can handle everything you throw at it then this is for you!!

This has an excellent picture and was easy to set up. My complaints are minor,but real. For all practical purposes the enclosed owners manual is not very helpful. I'm hard of hearing and use a transmitter/headset for sound. The sound output from this set is not readily discernable and the manual is no help--It IS there.

Retracting WUXGA comment. The device I had it connected to for output was altering the signal. This splitter when direct connected to computer HDMI out, will pass up to 1900x1200.

Living in the country i have limited cell service, buying this was a last ditch effort with verizon because i was about to switch to AT&T. (ended up doing this anyway and having great 4G service at my house with AT&T) I had about 1 bar of 3G before and had 3 sometimes 4 bars of 3G with the booster. Not really worth the money in my case, Make sure to follow the installation instructions on placements when putting the antenna up or it wont work at all xD

Since you state limited cell service ... that would imply no towers nearby. You have to have a nearby cell tower for this thing to connect to. You'd be better served with something like an AT&T Microcell.

It says free delivery, who does the delivery
Mine shipped direct from Danby via UPS. Was double boxed, box was perfect shape but item inside had dents in it. Poor manufacturing QC on Danby's part.
