I would say that this is the best bluray player in market now. I have SAMSUNG BDJ-7500 & SONY BDP-S7200. Sony players are know to have freezing issues with Amazon Video and also takes about 2 minutes to get full HD. But this player is not so. No more freezing at all. Takes around 30 seconds to get full HD. Improved in every aspect. I use VUDU & NETLFIX also and the quality is very good compared to my other Samsung & Sony players. It is highly recommended to all.

This is an excellent bluray and streaming device. Bluray quality is fantastic both 2D & 3D. Excellent sound too. I am very much impressed with streaming capabilities. I use it for netflix, vudu & amazon video. All have excellent picture and sound quality. For amazon, it takes about 20 seconds to show up HD. For others, it is an isntant HD

I have a home theater setup with 200 inch screen for which I was looking for a pretty good player. I tried Sony BDP-S7200 first and it was good but not like awesome particularly with streaming services. On a big screen like that, I could find missing quality. Then I bought this and it is really a charm in everything. My streaming services are VUDU, NETFLIX & AMAZON. Only for AMAZON, it takes about 30 seconds to buffer and then full HD shows up. As for VUDU & NETFLIX, it is instant HD. The 3D picture is also very bright with no ghosting. Even the sound seems pretty good.
I highly recommend this to everyone.

First good part, the picture and sound quality are pretty awesome which is as expected. There is very good improvement even on the streaming services like netflix, amazon etc. Amazon video takes about 30 seconds to display HD quality as it buffers until then.
But I would like to highlight the negative part. I use VUDU a lot. But this player has issues connecting to VUDU. Contacted both VUDU and Samsung for this. No solution found yet. VUDU was fine on my previous Samsung bluray player. Coming to the remote, I agree with the first reviewer. It is small and always end up pressing unwanted keys. Not only that, it has to pointed almost direct to the player which is very bad. Other Samsung players remotes were much better. This player needs kind of line of sight to work.
Otherwise, it is a pretty awesome player

This is an excellent upscaling player whether it is a bluray, DVD or streaming. I test all and the result is stunning. The streaming in particular is very good. Amazon instant is the only app that takes about 1 minute to get HD quality. All other apps like Netflix, VUDU etc it is instant HD. As for the sound, there is lot of improvement. I used to have SONY BDP-S6200 and it is a truly worth upgrade.
For those who are interested in 3D, there is no more ghosting with this player. S6200 has very little ghosting when you use subtitles. But this player does not have any.

3D Quality: One must have this bluray player to get immersed into the 3D world. I used to have SAMSUNG 3D player and SONY easily surpasses the picture quality
2D Quality: 2D quality is also the best I have ever seen. Colors, contract, brightness etc are perfectly apt. In the video settings, if you select BRIGHT ROOM, the picture becomes brighter. Same applies to 3D also. This option can be selected during the playback using OPTIONS button on the remote.
NETFLIX: If one has this subscription, you will be simply amazed to see the picture quality. In less than 10 seconds, buffering goes off and shows HD quality. One surprising option I see is 3D category. In Samsung, I never saw this category. In Sony, 3D buffering is also less than 10 seconds and after that the HD comes with stunning bluray quality 3D effects.
I have tested all this on my home theater which has screen size of 200 inches. Even at this huge screen size, picture quality never became an issue on this player, whether it is bluray or streaming.
Coming to other features, as the specs mention it has quick loading becos of dual processor. 2D to 3D is also reasonably good. DVD upscale is noticable.
I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

What are the differences between this model and last year's BDP-S6500? In some websites it says the BDP-S6700 has 3D and in others it doesn't. Thanks.
S6700 has 3D.
I used to have S6500 also and S6700 has much better picture quality paticularly in streaming services.

Is this able to play true 4K Disks?
Is this player able to play true 4K discs, or is it only capable of up-converting DVD's and Blu Ray discs to 4K?

Can it support and play Dolby Atmos discs (all the rest of my home theater can produce Dolby Atmos: AVR with firm wire and Atmos enable speakers)

Can`t seem to stream amazon instant video or netflix in 4k on this player?
is anyone else having this issue that has it besides me i have a 4k tv and i am using hdmi 2.0 cables on it but only shows 1080p and my internet is fast enough ti stream 4k.
I don't have any issues with amazon video or netflix. I have not tried 4K as I dont have it. But streaming is good

Do I need to purchase separate cable to connect from blu-ray player to tv before I could use it, or does it already come with it?
You have to buy the cable (HDMI) to connect player to the TV.

UHD Upscaling
I have a 4K player and will be buying a 4K TV soon. I am wondering if there is a significant upgrade in picture quality when playing DVDs with UHD. I make posters for my Zazzle store of public domain movies, some of which are only on DVD. So if you have an opinion on UHD with regard to DVDs I will appreciate your thoughts. TY
