Krissy124715's Reviews

This release from the first-run syndication fantasy series Legend of the Seeker includes all 22 episodes from the show's second season. Based on the Sword of Truth series of novels by author Terry Goodkind, the series takes place in a fantasy world, where modern technology hasn't developed - but magic has. However, under the iron fist of the dictator Darken Rahl, people are forbidden to use magic, and have been taught to fear it. The only one who can free the world's people from a lifetime under the thumb of a tyrant is a single man; a caviler woodsman with a destiny greater than he can imagine. His name is Richard Cypher and despite his humble beginnings, he has utilized the tutelage of a quirky wizard named Zed to help foster an uprising, to become the hero spoken of in the prophecies of old who will unite his people for a common cause. He is known as the Seeker.

Wishing there were more seasons

I love this show. It isn't or should I say wasn't like anything else on T.V. It isn't a crime drama, vampire show, a soap, talk show, an ever evil reality show, teen drama, or dumb sitcom. It was action, adventure, fantasy! A show to get lost in, to escape for one hour. It was funny, sad, interesting, light and dark, great chemistry with the actors, and yes for those romantics out there, there is even romance. There was sword fighting and good versus evil. It didn't fit the cookie cutter shows on T.V. so it couldn't stay, so I will now be content with two seasons on DVD and iTunes to fill my adventure hour.
No the series wasn't like the book and I am glad it made the series unpredictable. So if you love the books be aware it isn't the same. Just be open minded and know they are two separate things.
What's great about it: It wasn't like anything on TV
What's not so great: There won't be any more seasons
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love how they have gonzo telling the story like he is Charles Dickens. My family and I watch the movie every Christmas Eve and the soundtrack is on my ipod. It is a great family movie and a great honest twist on an old story and lesson. I've even watched when it hasn't been Christmas. I
What's great about it: I have seen many versions of the christmas carol. This is the most entertaining and fun.
What's not so great: I can't think of anything other than it is hard to find on DVD
I would recommend this to a friend!
