On the surface it's a good enough looking TV, but there's notable lag within the Roku software. Lag noticed when scrolling through Netflix, and Hulu. The TV will freeze, hang up and just get stuck on a black-looking screen until you either unplug it or perform the soft reset using the remote and it does this a lot. The most underwhelming Roku product is probably the Roku Stick because it's slow, and doesn't have much zip to it. Now think of that Roku stick powering your TV. That's what you're buying, so don't buy it. Roku's shouldn't be powering TV, and because of the issues I've had I'd hardly consider this a SmarTV.

Great accessory for the Surface Pro 4, does exactly what I needed it to do as in Cast my display. It does transfer sound, I tried using both iTunes and playing a movie and Windows 10 does have the setting to choose which display will be live when using the MiniDisplay cable. It's alot a lot cleaner than having to use a MiniDisplay to HDMI Adapter.

Is this compatible with a macbook pro from 2011?
I just wanted to double check that this is compatible with my older macbook pro from 2011.

I'm gonna say yes. Your MacBook Pro has a Thunderbolt port which essentially is the same as MiniDisplay. You can use MiniDisplay cables with Thunderbolt because they are backwards compatible, however you can't use Thunderbolt cables with MiniDisplay.
