Absolutely love this lens. I originally bought this lens for my wife's camera several years ago, and it was the only lens she would use for most occasions. Then the lens suffered an impact on a ride at Disneyland and it lost its ability to focus accurately at long ranges. We sadly made do without the lens for a year, and that's when we realized how much we appreciated it. After that year, I finally gave in and bought the lens again just before another vacation trip, and it was worth every penny, twice.
With its wide range, from close-ups to long range 300mm telephoto, you're always ready. Not needing to switch out lens is the single best feature of this lens. I'm certain photography purest don't mind carrying around a bag of lens, but for the fast moving family, this lens is a keeper. Plus, the vibration reduction really makes a difference on some of those shots where the photographer is moving more than the subject.
