If all you need to do is carry a camera body and a small telephoto or consumer lens, this bag will do that. Doesn't add a ton of protection nor does it have a bunch of extra features

Great Lens Upgrade for Prosumer

Overall a great lens. It is a nice step up from the standard kit lenses and provides really nice image capabilities. The one downside is indoors or low light level performance. In bright sun and outdoors the lens is fast and accurate. F4 makes indoors shooting a little more difficult without external strobe or strong light source.
On the plus side it is significantly lighter that the 70-200 f2.8 lens. If you shoot indoors, sports, or want to add a TC, the f2.8 lens is the right one. If you want great glass, shoot in good lighting, want nice bokeh, then this lens is a fantastic value.

Advanced Pro/Semi-Pro "Medium Format"

Simply an amazing camera with stunning image capture capabilities. This is a medium format competitor in a standard pro body. The size of the images boarders on the much larger and more expensive medium format cameras. The detail resolution outshines most other sensors on the market. In order to really see this detail, pro level lenses are required. When using lower grade lenses the quality of the glass is clearly visible. This only applies when pixel peeping but if your buying this camera plan on buying higher end lenses.

I have a Nikon D5100. Looking to take shots of paintball action. What lens?

I have a Nikon D5100. Looking to take shots of paintball action. What lens?

Looking to take pics of paintball action and dot know what lens would work. I'd be behind a mesh net and the actions would be done on a length no bigger than football field. Would a 18-200 work? I'm not a professional..so I don't need to spend thousands on a lens. Just want to be able to capture action in good quality. Or a 70/200, 70/300?
The 70-200 f4 is a great lens. In bright light, it focuses fast and accurately. depending on how close you want to be to the action, you might want more reach but with a DX sensor this gives you the equivalent of 300mm. The 70-300 is significantly slower focus and is a variable f-stop lens. This means the further you zoom, the less light is available to the sensor.

Both are great lenses and I have shot birds in flight with both lenses so you can capture rapid action.
