Expected to bring in both big box office and Oscar nominations (it did neither), White Oleander is the kind of film that generally goes further on home video than in the theaters. The DVD is a mix, though, as the image, framed at 1.85:1 and anamorphic (there is a full-frame version also available) lacks good detail. It's soft, but not a horrible distraction, since the actual transfer is nearly perfect. Colors are somewhat muted, though possibly intentional for effect. As for the 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack, it's nothing to get to excited about. Surrounds are basically nonexistent, though dialogue is clear and distinguishable. Fortunately, giving it some life, the bass does go into effect at very appropriate times, creating a deep sonic result. Though far from a special edition, Warner has included a number of extras. First off is a scene-specific commentary track from director Peter Kosminsky, producer John Wells, and author Janet Fitch. Next is a standard Hollywood PR piece, entitled "The Journey of White Oleander," which means you get as many scenes from the film as actual interviews. It doesn't amount to a whole lot. In addition to this is another brief featurette, called (excitingly enough) "The Making of White Oleander." There's little variation between these two though, and seems odd to need both. Also included are six deleted scenes, along with some cast and crew information, and the theatrical trailer.
This is one of my favorite movies. I read the book after watching it and actually found that the movie is so well done, I preferred the movie over the book - usually people say movies do not compare to the books. I feel the things in the book that were left out of the movie were appropriately left out.
I enjoy the way Jillian Michaels videos are divided into circuits. To elaborate, this is where a few exercises completed and then repeated and then you move on to another circuit with new exercises that are completed and then repeated. There are 4 circuits in each of the 3 levels which increase in intensity. The first level is pretty beginner but the exercises are still great and you can always increase the weight if you need a greater challenge. I have been doing this for a week and can already see results, looking forward to moving on to levels 2 & 3!
This collector's box set serves up every episode from the eight seasons of the Showtime crime drama Dexter, which starred Michael C. Hall as a serial killer who attempts to stay out of jail by only hunting and killing other murderers.

Only 3 of 8 chapters into the game so far and I question why so many people give this game such high reviews. Maybe I just need to finish the game first but am a little disappointed to know its going to be over in less than 2 hours...I'd probably recommend just renting this.
This set contains every episode from the entire run of Rescue Me, Denis Leary's series about the trials and triumphs of hard-drinking firemen who often find regular life as challenging as their occupation.
This series had been recommended to me by a friend but I'd never gotten around to watching it. After the loss of a pet, I needed something to take my mind off my pain. I began watching this series on Netflix and would watch episode after episode for hours. I was completely absorbed in the characters stories, their pain, and the humor. After finishing the series, I had to own it. I also had never thought much of Denis Leary before, but am now a huge fan. Can't beat this price for an entire series. Highly recommend Rescue Me to everyone.
I know some people just don't understand why others love this movie so much. I don't watch too many movies repeatedly since there are so many movies on my list that I haven't seen, but this is one I can watch over and over. Also couldn't beat the price of $5.99 for a blu ray. I actually used a reward certificate and almost got this classic for free!
