Explore an infinitely expandable universe with No Man's Sky. Catalog new planets, explore surfaces that no one has seen before and find ancient artifacts as you wander through the galaxy of stars. First-person combat and dogfighting in space are just a few of the challenges your face as you explore the universe in No Man's Sky.
Right off the bat, this game is not for everybody.
- If you like information drip-fed to you, it's not for you. - If you like to be guided through a structured narrative, it's not for you. - If you are only interested in shooting things, it's not for you. - If you are expecting a universe full of marauding multiplayer pirate clans, it's not for you.
This game really has me thinking about how games have changed over the years - they are much more complex, but somehow less fun, and certainly less of a challenge. There's an element of wonder to this game that I hadn't even realized I was missing until now.
With No Man's Sky, the narrative is pretty much up to you. There are certain tasks you need to learn, and pathways you can take (or not take), but overall it's more about the experience of exploring the great unknown.
There is a peacefulness to this game that really appeals to me, and playing it for a few hours in the evening has an almost therapeutic quality. The musical score by 65 Days of Static is perfect for the "sci-fi book cover" aesthetic of the game.
I have not experienced the bugs that others have, and I understand that these are being fixed in the next patch. In any event, to some the game may feel unfinished, but to me, I feel as though it's a starting point for something that will evolve over time, and I'm excited to see what it will become.
As I said, it may not be for you, and that's fine. That's what the gaming community is about, a diversity of opinions, tastes, and experiences. But if you are looking for a little peace, give this a try.
Relax with your favorite books wherever life takes you with this Amazon Kindle Paperwhite B00OQVZDJM, which features a 6" 300 ppi Carta ePaper antiglare touch screen with optimized fonts. The built-in backlight makes it simple to read at night.
I upgraded from a Nook Glowlight which I had dropped and cracked (the shaft of light emanating through the tiny crack was beginning to burn into my retina, so I figured it was time to upgrade).
I really like the ease of this device - purchases download to it directly, and if you have existing files, you can email them directly to the kindle and it will format them accordingly.
The definition on the paperwhite is really nice, and the backlight is gentle on your eyes (crucial if you are a late night reader like me). I have the "special offers" version, and it is not intrusive at all, just appears on your lock screen. Battery has been great so far.
If you are an Amazon Prime member, they even throw you a free ebook each month.
And yes, I bought a protective cover for it this time!
