True Nightmare!

The only bad thing about this game is that it is highly addictive and hard to put down.
This game holds true to it's promise of being a straight shooter with a lot of gore. It puts you directly in the old Doom type of a storyline with awesome picturesque scenery that sets the right mood.
The multiplayer is the likes of Quake and even better! Brings back memories of Quake 3 multiplayer maps and power-ups. Plus, there is an arsenal of multiplayer modes to choose from that will surely keep the entertainment going on.

A Giant
on November 4, 2015

What can I say, the box it comes in is giant. The screen is so big and perfect for reading e-books. There's a slight delay though using Wi-Fi when downloading at super-fast speeds that wasn't a problem with my previous Asus (other downloads and browsing are halted#. Flicking a few options here and there greatly increased the speed. I think it has to do with outdated drivers which Intel released 3 months ago. The keyboard lights up red which is hardcore and finally the brand stickers were placed on the left side for us right-handers. With a push of a button a hardcore gaming center by Asus opens up that gives you all the live system analytics and even allows for the tune-up of broadband.
I'm so happy with this laptop because there are two great shooters being released within a week. I haven't tested it with games yet as they are downloading but we all know the results. Especially as a portion of the bottom is transparent so you can take a look at it's vapor-chilled cooling system. The back looks like a jet which is totally gruesome!! To top it off, it is whisper-quiet too.
Overall, Asus did it again with the great price! I surely got the bang for my buck this year.
The only real con I have about this laptop is that it doesn't have a touch-screen. Although, to be honest I wouldn't of have used it for anything important either way (or at all).

Great Aesthetics...That's about it
By PaulNguyen
I would like to put a disclaimer that this review is regarding this specific item with the following specs:
i7-6700hq
12gb ram
1tb hdd
gtx 965m
for $1449
Appearance:
No compromise, looks sleek, sexy cool and worthy of an A-Grade gaming laptop. Touching it feels great! The bottom see-through tinted black panel gives it a fine touch . Top scores here.
Laptop Usage:
Main focus Keyboard area:
Keyboard feels absolutely great!! The Spacing between the trackpad and the WSAD keys is great! No more accidental pressing. The feel of each press is excellent. Macro keys a little bit too close to the record button. Trackpad has great feel to it. The button travels are also really good.
Heat:
Finally a Laptop that can be called a LAP TOP, the new cooling chamber does its magic keeping the hardware cool, without burning your knees. Fans are barely hearable, especially if you have sound coming from your games.
Screen
Excellent Matte display with gsync is just great, however!!! Asus cheapen out here on the edges of the screen. There is too much bending, creating a very cheap feel... the Plastic literally presses about 3mm into the screen. Not very great when you need to adjust your screen at all time. Especially if you just put a little pressure above the logo at the bottom of your screen
Storage:
It is 2015 you could have given us a 7k rpm instead of a 5k rpm hdd... also to state for an almost $1500 laptop, I expected some sort of SSD boot drive, not m.2x4 speeds but at least some SSD. This makes the laptop perform very bad. Loading times of games is ridiculously slow.
Graphics:
intergrated Graphics have always been meh... but the Skylake Processor has a decent one. However, the 965m is not great, entry level gpu, Stay away from it unless you are planning to play 1080p 60fps+ Dota2 or any Mobas. Triple A titles only on 1080p high or medium.
Thoughts:
Asus is charging you an Arm an A leg for "fancy" look, to me they did not justify the Appearance to be worth this much. You can get better hardware for $1500 but if Aesthetics are important, Asus G752 is the top tier choice amongst Gaming Laptops.
I will most likely be returning this product because it takes about 30s and more to boot. I don't even remember waiting soo long for something to start in 2015. Also that plastic bending into the screen is really bothering me... cant adjust the screen fast without worrying about putting a dent in there.

The LCD casing reminds me of an 2003 Inspiron for some reason, so I wouldn't be so harsh to Asus especially as the Inspirons were the first laptops to provide an interchangeable graphics card (I know because I owned an Inspiron and upgraded the video card in it.) But, you're right either way, no argument.
Two separate fans and heat sinks for the CPU and GPU is great because imbedded chips tend to burn out when they share the same heat sink and replacing the chips is a nightmare (requires thermal reflowing/re-balling.) There I don't understand why you mention the imbedded graphics in the i7 6700HQ instead of the GeForce GTX 965M which is the secondary graphics GPU of the system. The imbedded graphics takes care of the operation system's 2D while the NVidia GPU kicks in for 3D games.
I also totally agree with you about how a 5K RPM HDD is included when a 2003 Inspiron had a 7K HDD (that was 12 years ago!). No excuses but the system is worth it. That is why I ordered a 500GB MX200 Crucial SSD for it.

Excellent Produce

I do enjoy the computer. It has a lot to offer including liquid cooling and a very good processor. I was upset to find that it does not have the slot for a SSD like the older model. That aside I would recommend this.

Does have a slot.
November 20, 2015
Are you referring to "The M.2 slot does not support M.2 SATA SSD" part of the manual (In Search of Incredible, Pg. 20)? That's because there are two type of SSDs. Make sure you don't buy the SATA SSD card if you plan on installing it on the secondary slot. You have to buy the PCIe SSD. PCIe and SATA cards are not inter-changeable. Note: We are talking about cards here, as there is a slot for cards that can be used for hard-drive space.
Of course, you can just buy a SATA SSD 2.5" SSD and install it in the primary SATA bay by replacing it with the default 5K HDD. That's what I did and it's pretty much like loading Windows and video games from the memory itself, THAT FAST. In the future, I might even buy a M.2 PCIe SSD to install it in the secondary slot. Also, the laptop comes with 2 free slots of memory easily accessible through the hard-drive bay.
I do love this laptop. You can play Fallout 4 on ULTRA (with AA on ULTRA too) for a whole week and the laptop will never overheat one single bit. Best bang for the buck! Plus, you never hear a fan spin. I have to admit, I got better things to do than just play games all day. That is why this laptop was right for the price because you get it all plus games on the side (and, wow... how well it does games.)

My last computer kicked the bucket and I need to get a new one at Best Buy was going to get another computer, but when we went to pull it out they had this one not yet out on display and I went with this one instead and I'm very happy with I'm currently playing Fallout 4 on high with no problems what so ever and it never get too hot.

Fallout Madness!

Non-stop ULTRA with AA ULTRA, nuff said. A 3K computer packed into a 1 1/2K, that's how I see it (and trust me, I've bought several 2K laptops in the past.)

Excellent laptop but needs immediate SSD
By Khyber
First off. There is absolutely nothing to complain about except for the old 5400rpm hard drive! seriously? not even 7200?
Anyways since m.2 pcie ssd's are still pretty high in price for low amount of storage. I bought a 500g samsung 850 evo for $148 on another famous site(take a guess). It makes the laptop SOAR! The 5400rpm hard drive is almost an insult! DO NOT JUDGE it on a 5400rpm hd! I went from an almost 2min boot time to maybe a 15sec boot time. I really haven't calculated the boot time with ssd but it's a mind blowing difference on boot. You need to put an ssd in this thing. You can always get an m.2 pcie 3 ssd down the road for it when prices come down...but AT LEAST putting an sata 3 ssd in it like the 850 evo is a MUST. I use that 5400rpm hd as extended hard drive for my xbox one now. ha.
Gaming wise the 2gb ram on the gpu does kind of suck(i have a desktop so this isn't main gaming machine) but all I'm really playing game wise is wow, some battlefront, some rainbow six seige, and dabble in fallout 4. Wow is maxed and other games it plays them all just fine. Will even max if you are ok with 30fps but if you want to get at least 60- 75fps to get the full benefit of gsync just turn some options down. However lower fps with gsync doesn't feel as low as it would on a screen without gsync. LOVE GSYNC. Thank god for gsync though! I have 3x asus 1440p 144hz gsync monitors on my main rig and having gsync on a laptop is GREAT!!!
I got no complaints with the screen as other reviews have said. The exterior of the laptop is simply gorgeous. It lights up, it's miles ahead of previous rog laptops in both looks and construction.
the battery life is not bad. putting it on power saver and turning brightness down you can get about 2hrs of battery life with combination of gaming, internet browsing. This isn't meant to have awesome battery life...there is a 965 gpu and a powerful almost desktop like i7 processor inside...gotta compromise on that.
Buy it, but dump the 5400 rpm hard drive immediately and clone it to an ssd.

I'm loving mine too with a Crucial 500GB HD. Plainly put, in online games I'm always the first finished loading up.
Also for games like Fallout 4 that require a lot of in-game loading when entering different zones, the SSD does a world of a difference.
What's cool about this laptop is that the manufacturer ASUS has an overclocker utility available for download that allows you to tweak the GPU. I haven't found it on the download page for this laptop but try searching for a similar laptop through the Asus website and you will find the utility that's compatible.
I'm not finding M.2 SSDs that much overpriced. It brings peace of mind knowing that whenever I do need more space, that I can go that route.
