The best 5.1 system from Bose, made for your music, movies and TV and designed to sound every bit as stunning as it looks. Small omnidirectional speakers, a wireless bass module and wireless rear surround speakers deliver an astonishing audio experience that melts luxuriously into your room. The glass-topped console has 4K pass-through and 6 HDMI inputs, plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology to wirelessly stream music any way you prefer.
I am a huge Bose fan and was very interested in this system! I currently have many Bose products and the sound is so incredible. The Bose 650 is no exception. I thoroughly enjoy this system and its sound capabilities.
Overall the product is very solid and not cheaply designed. The speakers are mostly metal except for the base which is very large and has a glass top to it. I believe the makeup of the components helps the sound immensely. Noting that the materials are very solid this does equate to a heavy weight. I needed help getting the box to the house as the base speaker alone was 30 lbs. and it all comes in one huge box.
Setup was a bit difficult mainly due to the fact that the directions are actually on the television and not in the box. The one in the box just shows you to connect to the TV which would have helped me with setup immensely if I understood that this was what I needed to do. As well the cabling is not labeled, color coded, or anything so you have to guess a bit at which cable goes to what.
The wireless capabilities were excellent. I used to have to worry about hiding my wiring or wiring through the walls which is a pain. So the while the front speakers (L, R, and Center Channel) are all wired, the back ones are each separately powered and wirelessly connected. The electric/wireless adaptor is a bit cumbersome as it is larger than you would expect with everything else being so sleek and compact. The remote was also very sleek however it doesn’t seem to do very much, although maybe I’m missing a bit and will discover more uses later.
Once setup the sound was excellent! I even upgraded my cable package because it worked so well. I love music and I love Bose speakers however I was a bit disappointed with the interface. I use Pandora on my smaller Bose box and can control it with my iPhone, which is cool, however for this system I would have expected a bit more built in functionality without using my iPhone. So any music I want to listen to on my network, online, or using an internet service had to be controlled with my iPhone.
Overall it’s a nice system, very slick, solid, and a beautiful sound. I am very impressed. It could use a few more updates by Bose which I am hoping they will consider in newer versions.
