nice computer with black line drifting down screen

I want to love this computer, but I have the black bar issue many others are reporting (a black bar that runs the length of the screen is slowly drifting down the screen). It seems to be an actual physical defect with the screen, NOT a driver issue, as Lenovo keeps replying in these comments. Updating my drivers did nothing. Shame -- it's a nice computer otherwise.
