This is a great looking computer; however performance wide given the selection of computers in this price range this computer is a very low performer. The internet browsing speeds are slower compared to that of a Toshiba Satellite with Touch-Screen, and navigating through programs is also slowed down.
I purchased this to replace a Toshiba Satellite E45t-A4200 for work, which only costs in the low 600s and includes everything the Samsung has - plus more and 6g RAM plus 6g expandable - and this Samsung is just so bad in comparison.
The only thing better about this computer compared to others in the range is the Touch-Screen performance.
- The sound quality is poor; though expected.
- The storage is small; but expected.
- Browsing the internet is slow. Even such tasks as opening a new window or clicking an existing window causes much lag.
- NO BACK LIT KEYBOARD! Most computers at this price have back-lit keyboard.
- Touch-Pad (not screen) is less effective as other computers in this price range.
- 2 freakin' USB plugins... I get it - It's like a Macbook Air
- Weird computer outlets/inputs alike lightning bolt on Macs.. Meaning you need to purchase adapters and extenders to plug in VGA, etc.
- SideSync and HomeSync logos are permantly on this computer and are ugly. At first glance the SideSync logo looks like it has blemishes or like someone was midway from pulling the S from the word Sync off.

In conclusion I purchased this computer because I needed a disposable computer to include to my long list of work computers that I demolish every 4 - 5 months. It will under-perform the latest chain of purchased computers that I destroyed including Lenovos, Toshibas, Sonys, and even Dell desktops, but I am happy with it for the time we shall cherish together.
I also wanted a computer that looked nice... This does; however very plain.
I also want to mention that I do own a Macbook Air that has almost exact specs to this but costs 1200+ and the Macbook Air demolishes this computer in most ways, but does not include a touch-screen.
The 13.3 Macbook Air is also better looking in my opinion and much lighter.
What's great about it: Looks, Touch-Screen
What's not so great: Performance, Storage
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a very bad product due to flaw

If you plan to use this on carpet do not purchase this item. Even if you plan to stack it on something sturdy - do not purchase this item. This humidifier has a very bad flaw.
The bottom of the machine acts like a vent so this humidifier can not be used on carpet. If you stack the machine on something, or place it on a sturdy table it will still somehow error and not work; possibly due to the slightest angle or surface of the item... It won't even work on concrete in the garage.
When this machine errors it makes 10 very loud beeps - so you should not use this while you sleep unless you want a quick alarm. You can get these beeps to stop if you run for the remote and push a button.
You should also know you can not turn this on, turn it off, or change any speeds without it making very loud beeping noises. These noises can not be turned off and the the higher the level the more beeps it will make.
The only time this works properly is on the wood floor in my kitchen in an awkward location. When it works it works nice though and will sometimes make the area look like a smokey or foggy room. It's really cool and spooky.
In conclusion I bought a more functional humidifier and use this as decoration; however, note that it appears better in online images as its really just plastic that can warp and change color easily. I would never give this to anyone and wish I never purchased it.
What's great about it: Looks, Mist-Levels
What's not so great: Not for carpet or to be placed on anything, loud beeps, only works on wood floor

I have owned many Air Purifiers and this is the worst one; however it has a very nice appearance. I honestly feel that this Air Purifier gives other Air Purifiers a bad name... This purifier looks very nice, but performs very poorly which can lead to the common misconception that Air Purifiers do not work.
This Air Purifier is very loud. On the minimal settings the fan is louder than the lowest settings on a normal and quite air circulation fan. The loudest comes in the form of a deep hum, alike an overhead oven/stove fan, bathroom fan, or other.
This Air Purifier barely works as promoted. The purification system is very poor, it can take a week before you notice anything in a 140 sq ft room.
When we performed the "smoke" test this machine performed very poorly. It barely filtered any smoke. A normal fan was much better at destroying smoke by blowing it around the room. This machine simply spits it back out.
The UV C light is also very poor. Knowing this before I purchased the machine, it was not a surprise. But the "germ killing" UV light is essentially a novelty on this machine.
In conclusion this is a very nice looking machine. It fits nice on a night stand or table, but it just does not perform as promoted.
What's great about it: Looks
What's not so great: Air purification system, loud
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great performing computer at a good price

I have owned this well designed computer for several months. I also own Macbooks , Vaios, and others.... I work in the computer technology field and use this computer every day at work and primarily only for work.
This is my most reliable computer in every aspect (besides watching movies which for some reason I have yet to do on this machine so can not comment on).
When something fails on my Macbook or other computer I always come running back to this Toshiba Ultrabook.
This ultrabook puts up with a massive amount of abuse and handles it like your dog that hasn't seen you in days... It's always perfectly running and happy to see you.
The only issues with this computer would be the smudge spots on the touchscreen, the slightly loud fan that happens once in a while, and that I do not own another one. Also, the touch-pad works great but since I use Macbooks a lot it does feel a bit different...
In conclusion this is a premium computer at a lower cost... You can also build it up to 16g from 6g for about $150, which makes it immortal or add a SSD drive for around $200 to make it quiet. If you are looking to get a really nice computer for about $1,500 that looks the same in appearance check out the Kira book by Toshiba.
What's great about it: Performance, looks, customizability, battery life ain't too shabby, premium features
What's not so great: Touch-screen smudge, fan can be slightly louder than expected
I would recommend this to a friend!
