Had to buy this to have a SONOS component connected to my router and enable surround sound via a SONOS AMP and non-SONOS speakers. If you want to do a similar arrangement, this little guy will save you from having to run CAT 5/6 from your SOUND BAR to your wireless router (my router is really far away in the house and cannot be moved).

Sonos Connect Amp: Part music streamer and part amplifier, this device lets you use your favorite speakers with Sonos multiroom audio components. Don't throw away old speakers; give them new life.

So, if you have a SONOS SOUND BAR or SOUND BAR and SUB, you CAN achieve 5.1 Surround with non-SONOS speakers using the AMP.

I did not want to use SONOS PLAY:X speakers because of the unsightly power cords and stands, so I went for Yamaha in-ceiling speakers connected with an AMP. The bad news, which I found out after installing the ceiling speakers, is the AMP doesn't have the same antennae as the PLAY:X speakers, so it does not know its connected speakers are surround speakers. This is stupid! And it's the big reason for the lower star rating. One must physically connect the AMP to the SOUND BAR with a CAT 5/6 cable AND connect one SONOS component to a wireless router. My AMP sits in a closet I wired the rear speakers to, so I had to run CAT 6 up the wall, thru the attic, and down the front wall to the SOUND BAR. Then, I had to buy a SONOS BOOST in order to connect to the router which is on the other side of the house. Then I had to set the system up in BOOST mode and change the IP of the AMP to point to the SOUND BAR.
BUT, now that it's complete, OMG! The sound is incredible. I ran the Trueplay Tuning with the APP, made some adjustments to the bass, and BOOM. It knocks your socks off. My home theater sounds as good as or better than any commercial theater. And I like that I can set up the App to have separate sound settings for television/movies and music. Metallica never sounded so good in my house!!!
Fix the AMP SONOS to not require CAT 5/6 connection, and this thing is a 5 Star product!

I love Dunkin' Donuts black coffee. I think it's the best coffee out there. This Keurig Donut Shop Medium Roast is the next best thing, and costs half as much. As long as I can get it around $9 to $10 a box, I'm going to keep consuming it...

I previously owned the Apple TV 2nd Generation. When my daughter left for college, I gave her one of them and upgraded to this one for a theater/music room I'm working on. The Siri feature works pretty good for what I've used it for so far, which is quickly going to specific songs in my library that I play along with. I went with the smaller one because I'm not much into playing games. HomeKit will be bigger in the future and Apple TV is positioning itself as the hub. I'd like to see Apple play nice with others and start including apps like Vudu, but my SMART TV has that built in already anyway. Between iTunes and Vudu, I've transitioned my BluRay library completely to streaming only, and Apple TV is the only way to access those iTunes movies. It also looks like 4K streaming is on the horizon, so this more powerful Apple TV version should be able to handle the bigger data processing associated with 4K. Only downside so far for me is the remote. I actually preferred the older version better. I have a difficult time fast forwarding and rewinding with the new remote.

After hearing this dude in the store, I brought it home and paired it with a Samsung 4K television. The sound is stellar. So stellar, that I have put off acquiring the accompanying sub-woofer for the time being. I like being able to use the speaker without the television via the SONOS app. I also have some cons though. First, the app needs some work. It is not as intuitive as one might expect, and finding certain functions, like adjusting the bass levels, is a chore. If you just use the app to turn the volume up and down, then it's easy peasy. This brings me to my second issue, the SONOS speaker, at the moment, can only be turned up or down with the app as it is not compatible with my television, at least not yet. Lastly, mine hangs on the wall, and I uses the SONOS wall bracket. The location of the power and optical wire are difficult to hide based on their location in the speaker and the location of the hole that's available in the back of the bracket. I wish there was a small plate available to cover them up. But the sound trumps everything!

I'll preface this review by stating I've owned LG product in the past with not much success. In fact, I bought this television to replace an LG 32" LCD that started to have some problems after a half dozen years or so of ownership. I read the reviews on this one because it was on sale that particular week, went down to the store to check it out, and decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did. I've had the set now for about three months and have had no issues with it. Setup was actually a hoot with all of the funny cartoons that perform on the screen as you make each selection. And the television looks great with its thin design and stainless steel band type frame. One issue with other sets I've owned is the refresh rate causes blurring of fast moving sports objects such as a golf ball through the air. Not so with this set due to this Motion Clarity Index 600 thing. The remote is different, yet cool. I liken it to a Nintendo Wii style remote where you navigate a dot on the screen to make selections. The voice commands of the remote work quite well, but like SIRI, I find it gimmicky as I can usually accomplish things faster by pointing and shooting. Several reviews ding the set for the sound. I have not experienced this issue as there are several settings to adjust the sound including wall mount vs. table mount. Mine is wall mounted and it sounds great in our Master Bedroom. I love the SMART TV functionality and use Netflix and VUDU often. The only two quibbles I have with the set are not enough HDMI input ports and inadequate access to the ports when the television is wall mounted. We have an LG blu ray, Apple TV, and Cable Box piped into the set, but if I wanted to add a gaming system, there's not enough HDMI's to do so. The remote is a learning remote, sort of. You do not need to program individual functions, just tell it what components you have and voila! I can control by set top box and blu ray with the remote. Apple TV cannot be controlled with the remote. If you have an iPhone, you can also control the television with an app available from the app store.

I was on the golf course and picked up the phone to enter a score in a golf app. When I turned to stand up from the golf cart, I bumped the steering wheel with the phone and dropped it. It bounced a couple of times and landed face down on the concrete! But the phone case worked most excellently and prevented an iPhone 6 catastrophe! Not even a scratch on the glass and not even a dent or ding on the body. This case has now been officially dummy tested and approved! Buy this case!

Great for Airplay/Airtunes

Bought two sets for my kids' rooms. Hooked them both up to individual Apple Airport Express', and voila! The kids can play their ipods wirelessly to their individual Logitech speakers or we can stream directly from ituens to all the speakers.
And, for the money, the speakers sound great. They will fill the room with sound. One kid is into Taylor Swift and the other likes 80's Rock, and it all sounds great. I have one installation with the subwoofer on a carpeted floor and the other with the subwoofer on top of a bookcase. The carpeted floor installation sounds better. There's also a port in the back of the subwoofer to hardwire an ipod or other audio device directly.
What's great about it: Perfect for Airplay/Airtunes, sound quality, versatility
What's not so great: A little crunchy at max. volume, but you don't need max. volume
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this game because it looked fun, was inexpensive, and would give the kids another title to choose from. They've each played it once and have not played it since. The graphics are poor and all you do is shoot the same darn chickens over and over again. BORING!

Hard to believe that they put this software out that isn't compatible with older Macs. This is the first and only time that my Mac has been incompatible with a piece of software, it downloads and runs everything else I throw at it. But not this year's edition of Turbo Tax. And now I can't return it, because I opened it. I never read the "compatibility" fine print, because it only ever applies to older PC's, not Mac. Guess what? Turbo tax IS compatible with Windows XP service pack 2. That's right, its compatible with the 2001 edition of Windows, but not the 2009 version of OSX.

The sound isn't the best- I bought the sound bar which helps
Biggest complain the voice isn't on sync with the lips of people. We have to turn off and on often. Most of the time that fixes the problem but not always.
We had the Geek Squad here to check it out. They said they had no answers and told us to turn off and on to reset.
That's not what you should have to do with a new TV!!
How annoying we have to turn off and on the TV while in the middle of watching a show or movie.
It begins to go out of sync once the TV warms up and then happens more and more frequently.
I'll call the Geek Squad one more time,and hopefully they have a better answer.

I do not own the TV, but another option is you can run the TV sound through a stereo receiver. Many receivers have an option to sync up the picture with the sound...

The picture quality and the thin bezel design are great. The Smart TV WebOS software is also very nice. You can easily play YouTube videos from your mobile device. It would be nice to have a larger selection of apps than what is currently available. The only con of this TV is the sound output. While watching some content, it can be difficult to hear if you have a large room even with the volume at 100.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet as best as I can. I bought the soundbar, sub, boost, wall-mount bracket, and a 4 year protection plan for both the sound bar and sub (peace of mind). I spent just under $2000, and left Best Buy feeling nauseous because I hate spending that much money in one shot. Initially, after setting it up, I was ecstatic, this is my first sound bar, and in my opinion, the sound was amazing. After watching movies, netflix, and fios tv, I kept hearing this static/popping sound, while it was barely noticeable, it was quite distracting because I would focus on hearing that to see if it was a consistent issue rather than focusing on what I was watching. Then the next thing that happened was the sound completely cut out, twice, while watching The Godfather. I searched the sonos forums which has conversations with customers with similar problems, speaking with sonos support, and tried everything possible to troubleshoot the issue. It didn't work, so I packed up my sound bar and brought it back to best buy to exchange it for another of the same.
Rushed home with the new/replacement sound bar , set it up, fired it up, and I immediately noticed that it didn't sound as loud as the previous one, but I just thought to myself, I'm paranoid. At 11 pm that same night, I decided to call it quits, I shut the tv off, and when the sound bar was "off" (technically it's always on) there was this high pitched squeal constantly emitting from the left side of the sound bar... best way I can describe it is almost like interference that sounds like a dog whistle (you can barely hear it, but it's super annoying). I was pretty aggravated to say the least. First thing in the morning the next day, I brought the sound bar back to Best Buy and felt like an idiot walking in there for the second time in 2 days to return their "top of the line, best sound bar." The staff was very nice and understanding, and I joked with them that hopefully the third time is the charm.
Brought the 3rd sound bar home, set it up, fired it up, and it sounded amazing, easily the best of the 3, no static popping, and it was LOUD! I let it play for an hour, then shut it off and closed my eyes hoping there wouldn't be a high pitched squeal... and there wasn't! The rest of the day, I was so happy that I gave it a 3rd shot because I loved the convenience and sound of this system. I watched Netflix and a Blu-Ray that night, and had zero issues. Well here I am tonight watching some Mixed Martial Arts fights on Spike TV, and you know what's happening NOW?! The sound cuts out in between every single commercial. Now I understand that, to some, this may not sound like the biggest deal, but it drives me insane.
I'll be back at Best Buy tomorrow with all of the Sonos products I purchased, and looking for a full refund. All in all, if this system worked the way it should, it would be hands down, a 5 star rating all day. But to think that I spent almost $2000, went through 3 sound bars and all of them had issues, is just completely unacceptable. I hope that anyone that is on the fence about dropping $700 on this sound bar, reads this review, and can make an informed decision based on it. Maybe I just had terrible luck, but I tried so hard to make this system work.

I was looking for a pair of ceiling speakers for our new kitchen addition to be used with a SONOS system. The powered SONOS cube has 55 watts / per channel and it is more than enough power to make these speakers sound good.
I was afraid that if I only went with a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 inch woofer, I'd be disappointed with the fullness and bass output. So I knew I had to buy a pair of 8 inch woofers to satisfy my high standard for sound quality. I was also slightly afraid that for under $200, these speakers wouldn't sound as good as some higher priced models.
I am happy to report that these speakers ROCK!! They have good full sound and good bass output (for 8 inch speakers). They sound awesome and I have no complaints at all. The sound they produce is equal to, if not better, than many more expensive models.

I also have a SONOS system and want to add the rear channel speakers that are not SONOS because I don't want to put them on stands and mounting PLAY 1's is not an option based on the location because of the power cords that go with them. So, these guys with the SONOS amp will likely be the ticket to finish my home theater.

I'm New to SONOS, how does your TV connect to the SONOS system?
You need a SOUND BAR and your TV has to have an Optical Out port. Then you can add a SUB to the SOUND BAR by wifi. Also, make sure your TV is compatible with SONOS. My TV remote will not control my SONOS speakers (so I have to use the APP on my iPhone), but many others do. But, this is the best sounding system out there IMO.

will this fix the timing delay with the 3 sonos products i have?
Possibly. It creates a dedicated network for your SONOS speakers. Did you try the app first? There are options in there to adjust the timing of voice to matching the lips moving on your television screen.

I have a pair of old Pioneer speakers I want to use with the connect:amp they are 6-ohm 150W will the amp power these?
