Bargain box set!
on January 14, 2014
Posted by: holnugget
I picked this up for $35 on sale and it was a bargain for 4 movies on blu ray. I did not own any of these on blu ray so it was a good deal. A couple of nit picky complaints...only the 3 major motion pictures have download codes. The codes are both UV and iTunes. The animated straight to disc has no code. But, all 4 movies have their own Blu-ray Disc and all the extras from the DVDs. There are no DVDs in this set. For the completist or blu ray fanatic, this is the set to get. I gave it 4 out of 5 because of the lack of the 4th download code and DVDs.

Originally released in 2007 and winner of multiple Game of the Year awards, BioShock is a "genetically enhanced" first-person shooter set in Rapture, a decaying art deco underwater utopia torn apart by civil war. Caught between powerful forces and hunted down by genetically modified "splicers" and deadly security systems, players have to come to grips with a deadly, mysterious world filled with powerful technology, fascinating characters and morality defining choices. To make it to the end, players can turn everything they encounter into a weapon, biologically modify their body with Plasmids, hack devices and security systems, upgrade weapons, craft new ammo variants, and experiment with different battle techniques. No encounter ever plays out the same and no two gamers will play BioShock the same way.Originally released in 2010, BioShock 2 features an unsettling storyline, dazzling visual design and the evolution of the genetically enhanced shooter gameplay. Set almost a decade after a grueling civil war consumed the once magnificent city of Rapture, evil reverberates through the halls and a wickedness once thought gone forever returns along the Atlantic seaboard. An unspeakable series of kidnappings from local seaside communities by an unseen monster leads to the repopulation of Little Sisters in Rapture's failed utopia under the ocean. Players must step into the boots of one of gaming's most iconic characters, the Big Daddy, as they traverse the fallen city, fending off attacks from an army of genetically modified Splicers, while searching for escape and the key to their survival.

Awesome games and value!

This is a review of the product and not the game. The games are great and a must have for anyone that enjoys a good FPS as well as story. What makes this package set worth 5 stars is that it is complete with all DLC. For Xbox 360, it all comes on two discs per game. No download codes. Plus the package is a limited edition collector's glossy package. Really top notch and fantastic. I was lucky and got this for $19.99 on sale. At $29.99 it is still a steal. Buy this one over the PS3 version because of the slip case and the DLC on disc. Highly recommended for anyone that has other copies on other systems or first timers who are contemplating jumping into either the 1st or 2nd game.
What's great about it: Two blockbuster games and DLC in one package!
What's not so great: Nothing.

Review for Cinemanow copy!
on October 13, 2012

I pre-ordered Prometheus and got this Cinemanow copy free. The setup of Cinemanow is very complicated and then download code came 4 hours after ordering it. Ultimately I was able to play the movie on my PC and my xBox 360 (after installing the Cinemanow app) but not my LG Smart TV that had Cinemanow built in app. So, after an hour of reseting everything and getting the xBox up and running right, I finally played the movie. Even though the xBox only streams in 720p, it was gorgeous. No studdering or buffering. Hats off to Microsoft for making an app that actually works like it should. A week later, my 3D copy came in the mail and it was awesome as well. This is the difinitive version for 3D TV owners and the extras on the 3D version are worth a $25 purchase alone. Thus, if you missed the pre-order bonus, just buy the blu-ray or 3D version, skip Cinemanow. Although, Cinemanow works WAY better than Vudu.com.
What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: Complexity to use.

Quality and budget concious.

Type of Listener:Avid listener
Most Important to Purchase:Price
How Often Used:1-2 times a week
I bought these headphones for my 8 year old to use with our portable DVD player in our truck. The reality is that I use them often myself too. The headphone cushion is soft and supple like bose and the build quality of the cable and headphones are fantastic. I had a coupon and got these for $17 and it was one of my best purchases all year. If you need headphones to use in your house or on the go especially if its with an ipod or ipad then these are perfect. There are no noise canceling qualities so if you need that for a train or plane ride then you have to spend ten times as much for bose or beats. Overall, you won't be dissapointed. I got these in black but they make them in pink and white as well which makes it nice for girls and boys.
What's great about it: Quality & price.
What's not so great: Minimal noise cancelling abilities.

Great game for a value/steal!

I bought this game over Xmas for $10...which is a steal! This game is easily worth $30 and well worth the time to play through. There may be little replay value but its cheaper than going to the movies and a good sequel to the first which was a lot a fun as well.

What's not so great: Replay value.

Review by a 35 year old movie fan.

I bought this movie on bluray because my wife loves this movie and so does her grandma. She had it on VHS and I thought this was a nice upgrade. Let me start by saying I have never sat through this movie in its entirety once. This is the most gorgeous restoration of a movie from this time period I have ever seen. Both my wife and I were blown away at how good it looks on 1080p HD TV. On that alone this is a buy because of the music and astounding picture. Past that this is a classic that my 3, 5, & 7 year old loved. I can't recommend this purchase enough. I paid $17 over the holiday but I would recommend paying double that price if you had too.
What's great about it: The astounding HD picture restoration!
What's not so great: Nothing.

I have all the previous Resident Evil movies on blu-ray and this one does not dissappoint. I paid $21.99 for the movie and cannot recommend it at this price. Anything $19.99 and below is where I would recommend it. This is only because there is no DVD copy or iTunes digital copy. There is a Cinema Now digital copy but that sucks because you can't play in iTunes or on your iPod. I do not have a 3D TV but this was created for 3D and you can kind of tell with the gimicky 3D tricks that have things jump out at you. When you watch the making of the movie you can tell the director revolved the movie around 3D and this makes the gimicky and not as good as it could have been. Overall it is nice to have and I will still watch it a few more times. The blu-ray looks good but too much green screen takes away from the experience.
What's great about it: Its Resident Evil and Resident Evil rocks!
What's not so great: Its very mediocre! Three out of 5 for the movie rating.

For my 3 year old...

I bought this for my 3 year old and he loves it! My 5 and 7 year old love watching it too. My only complaint is the length which is 40 minutes. I paid $17 for this and that is the max I can recommend. For any kid that is a Cars fan than this is a must but they watch it twice in a row everytime we put it into the DVD/Blu-Ray player. Not too many extras though.
What's great about it: Its Cars!
What's not so great: The length...too short!
