Surprisingly good little monster flick from the early 80's. The big reveal at the end may roll a few eyes but everything up until that point is well-paced. The actor is a notch above what you typically find in this sort of fare, plus the restoration on this transfer is quite nice.

What's great about it: Very slow-burn approach with a nice payoff and solid, likeable characters

Great sequel finally getting the deluxe treatment
on April 17, 2013

A great slasher sequel that gets its 2nd release in less than a year. Virtually the same transfer as Universal's release, however this edition from Scream Factory comes packed to the brim with bonus content. Even cooler, it has a bonus DVD that features the television cut of Halloween II! A must-have for Halloween fans!

Criterion titles may be pricey but this one is certainly worth. DePalma is at the top of his game with a tight thriller that has a fantastic cast including Travolta, Allen, and Lithgow. The transfer retains a layer of grain and could've probably been a bit sharper but the bonus content more than makes up for it. Definitely worth checking out!

If you're into bizarre horror films then it doesn't get much campier or stranger than TerrorVision. Definitely a flick that needs to be seen to be believed, and Scream Factory does a great job presenting it. Video Dead is also far better than I ever imagined for a shot-on-video, uber-low budgeted flick. Great zombie makeups and atmosphere. You really can't go wrong with this affordable double-feature!

What's not so great: Not the greatest flicks, but fun nonetheless

They Live isn't a perfect film, but it's certainly a beloved one. And Scream Factory certainly shows it with this release. More bonus features than you could ever ask for and we'll worth the high price tag. The reversible cover art is also fantastic!

This set is only a must-have for the completists out there like myself. Part 3 is absolutely ridiculous but it is fun to see Bill Mosely and a few of the Twin Peaks alumni bobbing around. Part 4 is atrocious and has virtually nothing to do with the holiday. Part 5 is definitely the highlight with a fun story featuring Mickey Rooney as a toy store owner, however being the best of this bunch isn't really all that much to be proud of. Stick with the original entry if you're curious about this franchise!

What's not so great: Poor storylines with little to do with the 1st 2 films

Ticks is a movie I avoided for a long time, but now that I've finally given this release from Olive a chance I'm more than glad I did. A fun, campy early '90s horror flick with some exceptional practical effects and a great performance by Seth Green. The transfer didn't look half bad either, although the lack of bonus content on the disc is disheartening (but standard) for Olive releases. The MSRP is kinda hefty on this title, but it's definitely worthy of repeat viewings.

It's almost as if this album was lost and should've been released 10 years ago. With Chad back on vocals for this outing a certain sense of passion is back within their ranks. The overall production is superb compared to their last record and the mixing of the album is also a vast improvement. Glad to see Shai Hulud still has it! Post-hardcore at its finest!

This is clearly the definitive version of Phantasm II ever released. The blu-ray is definitely an upgrade over the last DVD released, however the picture quality could have been a little bit sharper. I'm sure Shout Factory did the best with whatever source material they had. The film is a favorite among many fans of the franchise and is so bizarre and different than most horror films. Some say that Phantasm is an acquired taste, but those who acquire it absolutely adore it. The list of bonus content is where this release truly shines....it is jam-packed with hours to occupy the die-hards. Also, much kudos on the reversible cover with original key art! A must-own for HorrorHounds out there!
