Love my Tone Infinim

I never leave the house without my LG Tones. I wear collared shirts for work and these tuck under the collar perfectly, keeping them hidden and descrete. The vibration feature is awesome so I can keep phone on mute and the vibration alerts to a call, text, or email.
I hate traditional Bluetooth headsets that sit in the ear as they either cause fatigue on my ear or get uncomfortable quickly. With the LG Tones sitting on the neck I literally forget they're on my neck. I primairly use these as a handsfree call headset and the call clairty is amazing. I pop one earbud in and take calls easily, even operating the buttons with the Tones under my shirt collar. People can hear me on the other end perfeclty as well, again with the device under the collar.
When it's time for music the LG Tone Infinims are a stellar wireless headset. Obviously being wireless they aren't perfect and the small earbuds/drivers lack a little low end bass. That being said these humble my wifes Beats wireless earbuds hands down...she doesn't even care for audio quality that much and she can tell the difference.
The hands down best part of the Tone Infinims is the battery life. I wear these 8+ hours a day, everyday, and I charge them Saturday night. That's it and I'm good for the rest of the week. And they recharge in roughly 30 minutes. My old Plantronics Voyageur headset got about 4 hours of talktime at best. I'm getting over 20 hours of talktime and I'd guess these things would go weeks on standby.
I find the earbud wire length to be plenty long enough and I'm not concerned anout durabilitly with the thin wires. They are plenty strong and the entire device feels solid and well built.
My only minor complains would be 1) The Tone Control app is only available for Android and not my ios devices (but the Tones still pair seamless to ios devices but lack the additional control and customization the Tone app brings). I do suspect this is more an Apple/ios flaw than LG Tone issue.
2) The headset doesn't announce a caller id/name when receiving a phone call. This is both on Android devices (Galaxy S6 work phone with Tone Control app) and ios (iPhone6 Plus personal device). My old Plantronics headset would do this and I wish the LG Tone Infinims so I wouldn't have to look at my phone screen to identify the caller.
3) Bluetooth range isn't impressive so plan on keeping your paired wireless device close by, such as in your pocket. The connection is stable and works great up to a maximum of about 7-9 feet where it starts to get choppy and past 10ft it will drop nearly completely. Typically I've seen around 15-20ft po range with most higher end Bluetooth devices.
Bottom line; if you're looking for a qualitly handsfree headset, wireless headphones, and are tired of on the ear style devices, these are for you.

Best Imaging Around
on June 10, 2013

When it came time for me pull the trigger on a new theater setup, I choose the MartinLogan EM-ESL towers easily. After auditioning a parade of speakers from Def Tech, Sonas Faber, Bowers and Wilkins and Energy, nothing could match the tonal highs and imaging of the EM-ESL's.
Clarity, especially vocals, are unreal. Movement, response, tonal imaging and pure rendering are everything I would want in an exceptional loudspeaker. The built-in woofers do a good job enhancing low frequency response, but these speakers are a tad bass shy. A good subwoofer (I went with two Dynamo 700s) will greatly enhance the listening experience.
I was worried these speakers would lend themselves to music more than my 7.2 surround sound theater system, but I was sorely wrong. When matched with their complementing set (EM-C2 center channel and FX2 surrounds (I also went with a pair of FX2 surrounds for front highs) the movement and clarity is unmatched.
As always, there is no perfect product, let alone speaker. The soundstage could be better, so the listening area is relatively small. If you don't sit dead center on the aligned towers, you will clearly miss audio from one tower and the other tower closer to you will overpower you. Imaging will be become quite distinct and directional. For a theater, this is a drawback because not every seat is going to be dead center.
Additionally, your room must be able to accommodate some demanding setup, these speakers are quite fickle about placement. They need to be about 2ft minimum off the wall and as far away from a side wall as possible. They still make great use of whatever space you put them in, but they will sound 10x better once setup correctly.
I also LOVE these speakers come with nice black nylon mesh covers embossed with the MartinLogan logo. While they aren't super durable, they will provide exceptional dust protection and is a nice feature.
The fact I love these speakers as much as I do, despite their setup and placement compromises, shows just how truly exceptional they are. Pull the trigger, you won't be disappointed.
What's great about it: Imaging, Sound clarity, apperance, build qualitly, setup
What's not so great: Finicky on room setup/size, soundstage could be better

Def Tech Doesn't Disappoint
on March 12, 2013

I was on the fence between a B&W CM9 system, Def Tech BiPolar Super Tower system, or the Mythos XTR range. After thorough demos of all systems, with my own sources of audio, I gave the edge to the Mythos system for mid and high level clarity over the power of the BiPolar's and the lack of high end range of the CM9's. I also opted for a SuperCube6000 as you really need a sub to handle the low frequencies with these XTR's.
Apprehensive I was trading sound quality for looks- these XTR's look simply fantastic- I got them home and hung them on the wall next to my 60" Samsung Plasma. I am mostly a movie watcher so I popped in a few "reference" Blurays. These speakers must be heard to be believed! In my own theater room they sounded more impressive than in the demo room. I cranked my Denon AVR up louder and these XTR's simply shrugged off the extra load and kept up, no distortion, no clipping. I knew I made the right decision when my wife- who though our old Klipsch system was "state of the art", even admitted she could tell a WORLD of difference with the new system.
The speaker connector on the rear speaker is supposedly designed to make connecting the wire easier- it's not. It also has diminutive terminals so Audiophile-grade speakers wire (read Gauges 12 and up) won't fit. The terminals are as small as some speaker selectors. Kind of odd, but given these XTR's can only handle 100watts max, I guess 16awg wire should be plenty.
My only grip is not even about the speakers themselves- I wish Best Buy carried the XTR-20 speakers for the rear surrounds. They don't even carry the Mythos Gems- another perfect match for surrounds. I had to order the XTR-20 surrounds online and I wasn't able to demo them locally, but, they still sounded terrific. Best Buy needs to expand the Mythos speakers they carry.
What's great about it: Sound clarity, build quallity, apperance
What's not so great: Speaker connection clip
