These guys are awesome. Electric Six has been one of my favorite bands for years, and this album is one of my favorites of all time. It has song after song of great writing and funny lyrics. Sometimes bands that are trying to be funny don't write good songs, but not here. Even if the lyrics weren't funny, these would be great songs. You have to listen carefully to the words, because they are packed with comedic gems. Some of the jokes can be kind of esoteric, which makes them even funnier. This band is not to be missed, either live or on CD. Do yourself a favor and pick up this album.
This is definitely one of the best live albums that I own or have ever heard. The sound quality is superb compared to other live shows. Each track is a mixture of multiple songs. They are mixed so well that you don't even notice the track changes. If you listen straight through the album, it sounds like just one long awesome song. The song choices flow together seamlessly. Daft Punk has revolutionized live albums for electronic music. No dull moments. Perfect scores all around.
What's great about it: Perfect song choices and mixing. Great sound quality.
This band is one of the most unique bands that I have ever come across. There are just two guys playing instruments, but it sounds like they have at least five people. The drummer is also the singer, which is very unusual to see. The other guy is the bassist, but he plays it with so many different pedals to distort the sound, you would think that there are a bunch of different guitars in there too. This is the most you have ever gotten out of a two piece ensemble and it is the most you will ever get. The guys have since broken up (tear), so owning this album and their others is like owning a piece of music history. You will not be disappointed.
What's great about it: Awesome music. Unique sound.
This is a good album for anyone who is a fan of this band. They have a dancy style and the singer has a very powerful voice. It has a quasi-disco sound mixed with r&b/soul vocals. A definite buy for fans and a "check it out and see if you like it" for people who haven't heard them yet.
Tom Waits has a very wide range of genres and numerous albums under his belt. This one is by far my favorite. It is such an interesting collection of songs. His son plays percussion for him. He has some collaboration with Les Claypool. He is originally from San Diego. This guy does it all. Any fan of any music should like this album. Fifteen tracks of perfection. Highly recommended. Two thumbs, five stars, and whatever else you can think of.
What's great about it: Great music. Interesting sound.

Lisa Lampanelli has to be the worst woman stand-up comic ever. I would put her on the same level as Sarah Silverman. They each try really hard, but just cannot land a joke to save her life. All she does is stand up on the stage and make fun of the audience. Her angle is to try to be so politically incorrect that people eventually laugh at something. The comedy is full of put-downs, but it's supposed to be okay because she makes fun of everyone, not just a single group. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of other comics that make a living by putting people down and making fun of the audience. It's just that Lisa Lampanelli tries so hard to be "edgy" that it ends up being just flat-out not funny. She is very repetitive and her stereotypes are way over-used and too obvious. Trust me and stay away from this one.
This performance video featuring comedian Dave Chappelle gets a bare-bones presentation on DVD. Dave Chappelle: Killing Them Softly has been given a full-frame transfer to disc, while the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. No bonus material or alternate language options have been included.

Easily the funniest thing that Dave Chappelle has ever done. My friends and I haven't stopped quoting these jokes for years. The only negative thing I can say is that it ends too soon. Every joke is right on target. If you like Dave Chappelle, this is a must own.
I really enjoy this band's music. They use all different kinds of instruments to create a very unique sound. The singer has a very sweet and soothing voice that is backed by mellow and melodic music. This is definitely worth a listen and if you like this album, the rest of Psapp's collection will soon follow.
Gogol Bordello is described as a "gypsy punk band", which is pretty accurate. They have a great sound that incorporates plenty of accordion and fiddle. One of the best songs is track number four, called "Supertheory Of Supereverything". The singer, Eugene Hütz, is from Ukraine and his heavy accent and imperfect English grammar lends a lot to the eastern European cultural sound of this album. Eugene also stars alongside Elijah Wood in the movie "Everything Is Illuminated". All in all, this album is very interesting and energetic. Give it a listen and you won't be disappointed.
What's great about it: Good music. Cultural sound.
I am a big Nine Inch Nails fan and I was disappointed in this CD. I knew it was an all-instrumental album before I bought it, but it still let me down. I would only recommend this album to people who absolutely NEED to own every CD of this band. This is definitely not for the casual listener. In this double-disc, 36-track album, I figured that there would be more to sink my teeth into. I would say that there are maybe five really good tracks here. It feels like there was a definite lack of effort put into the making of this album.
