Great extender for range & speed
on January 30, 2016

I purchased the EX7000 WiFi Range Extender to go with my ASUS AC-2400 WiFi Router. Before upgrading to this extender, I had the Netgear Dual Band WN2500RP WiFi Extender.
I ran a speed test before and after using both extenders. The extenders were placed in the same exact place in the room.
-- Results --
Netgear WN2500RP - Download was 14.36Mbps. Upload was 6.90Mbps with a ping of 18.
Netgear EX7000 - Download was 37.16Mbps. Upload was 6.85Mbps with a ping of 17.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone that wants to extend their WiFi network. The setup was very simple and all around a great product.

Excellent Product

So after a lot of research and reading reviews back and forth between routers, I ended up buying this router today. I am using this router from over 800ft away. All the reviews said it is not possible, but it is.
The reason it is possible is I set all the settings to max power, 40 for 2.4GHz and 80 for 5GHz. I pair this device with my Dual Band extender. I am using it literally over 800ft away from the router. I use the 5GHz setting and the download speed was 2mbps. It serves the purpose of what I needed it for without having to get an outdoor antenna, blah blah. For those who want to purchase this router, this is an amazing router with more than enough consumer power available in this machine!

Nighthawk AC1900 for gaming????

Hey guys. I need an answer for my question. Hopefully you guys can help. I wanted to know if the Nighthawk can handle 2 PS4's simultaneously. Time Warner is our provider and currently have 50mbps down and 10 up. The console will be connected directly not WiFi as well. Also, maybe you all can tell me if it'll improve my connection and so on. Thanks in advance!
This will depend on the router that you are connecting it to. I have an ASUS AC-2400 Router paired with this AC1900 Nighthawk and I have no problem. This most certainly should be able to handle 2 PS4's simultaneously if you are provided 50Mbps down and 10Mbps up from Time Warner. I am currently provided 30Mbps from Time Warner and my speed test was 37.16Mbps with a ping of 17. That's using my Extender. I also did a speed test using a desktop wired directly to the router and it is the same speed give or take a few MBps, but nearly no loss in connection speed for a long travel distance.

will this extend my signal from my house to my shed 350 away

I'm guessing you mean 350ft away. This will depend on a few factors, one including your router capability. I myself have the ASUS AC-2400 paired with this AC1900 Nighthawk Extender and between the 2 is well more than 350ft. I also have trees and it shoots up a hill to the extender. I see no problem with this not working for you!

Does the ASUS Router AC2400 RT-AC87U peform reliably with 2.4 and 5G devices?

Some reviews indicate that it crashes and needs to be rebooted on 2.4 and 5. Does the ASUS Router AC2400 RT-AC87U perform reliably with 2.4 and 5G frequencies? Specifically, will it work with Apple TV and if so, which frequency would work best?
I just bought this product today. Right out of the box it needed updated. After that, I setup my 2.4 and 5G settings. I can connect to both frequencies from 2 different devices without any interference. This router is also beside another wireless router and works perfect. I set the 2.4GHz channel of this router separate from the other router so there is no interference. I would highly recommend getting this router.

It may seem like a lot for a wireless router, but it packs everything you will ever need in a wireless router for years to come.
