One of the top female blues singers

Beth Hart is one of the "best kept secrets" in the world of music in general, but more specifically in the "Blues" genre. Her latest offering kicks off with a comfortable traditional type, "Baddest Blues", which lures you in, gets you happily curious and interested. That follows immediately with the title track which is so "catchy" and "hook-filled" that you are, well, HOOKED! If you are into a more traditional upbeat jazzy/blues hybrid then "Swing My Thing Back Around" is right up your alley. Blues with a hint of "Gospel"? Then "Spirit of God" is most likely for you. She channels Janis, Billie, Etta among others. There are also gentle rockers, soulful heart-ache, and enough bounce mixed in with the melancholy to balance the whole music listening experience just right! Lastly there is a bonus cut of Buddy Guys "I'd Rather Go blind" that Beth performed along side Jeff Beck and others for last Falls 2012 Kennedy Center Honors TV special that brought the house down! That alone is worth the price of this disc.

What's great about it: Every track is enjoyable. No filler cuts.
What's not so great: Released in a jewel box. Should have been a digi-pak, more environmentally friendly package.
