Good MMORPG

Final Fantasy XIV Online is a good MMORPG video game (please note that this game requires a paid subscription, although, you get a 30 day free trial with the purchase of this bundle). This bundle includes FF XIV: A Realm Reborn and the new DLC, Heavensward. This review will consist of my early impression of the video game and my overall thoughts so far. It is important to note that when you first boot up the video game, you will be prompt to download and install around 20 GB of data before you can start playing. During the download, you cannot do any other activities or download it in the background like you normally would on the PS4. FF XIV Online looks beautiful. The character models are detailed and world of Final Fantasy XIV looks spectacular. Although, sometimes during story clips the camera zooms in on the environment and it can appear bland. The character customization is great. There are different races to choose from (including an extra race from the Heavensward DLC). Although, you can't adjust key features of your character using a scale like in most games, the set options to choose from are all pretty good (finally a game with a great selection of hair)! There are many quests to do in the game (I personally skim or skip through the dialogue, as there is just too much to read after awhile....). The game does have voice over, but only during some parts of the story. Most of the time, you'll be reading texts from a bubble. A key aspect of why FF XIV Online is so great is because the game lets you train and use many different classes, which really adds a lot of replay value to the game as you try to level each one of them to the max. Some of the things that bothered me during my experience with the game are the targeting system and the navigation. Targeting one enemy is simple. However, when there are multiple enemies on the field, it can be tough to target your enemy. This is especially true during FATES, a random event where players gather together to battle waves of monsters. The targeting system becomes a problem because more than often, you will accidentally target other players instead of the monster during the battle. To avoid this problem, simply cancel your action and re-target. Another issue I have with the game is the navigation. The game does a good job letting know what you need to do to complete your quests, but it can be difficult to find the exact location of the objective sometimes because the game is so huge. There are many levels to towns and other areas. The map does not always do a good job of showing you the proper way to get to your desire location. Navigating will be very tedious until you get your mount. Getting your mount won't be easy either, and will not be available until many hours (expect at least 10-12 hours) into the game. Until then, you'll mostly be running around towns and the fields. This becomes very tiring when you're going back and forth for quests or exploring. There are some fast travel methods, such as using crystals in towns or renting a chocobo to return to certain areas (for a price)! I also want to warn you that if you want to play with your friends, you both have to be in the same server. Otherwise, you cannot play together (there is an option to switch server, but it may include a fee). Overall, FF XIV Online is a good game and I am still enjoying my time with it. There is so much content and replay value that you'll still have a lot to do even after putting 100 hours into the game (especially since you'll get the DLC too)! However, if you are still unsure if this a game you will enjoy, there is a free trial version on the PS network you can download and try for 14 days. Give the game a chance!

It's 1,000 years or more before the age of the Dragonborn, just before the rise of Tiber Septim, the first Emperor of Tamriel, and the world is in a state of turmoil. The Daedric prince, Molag Bal, has stolen your soul and his next move is to destroy Tamriel. Across the mysterious lands of Morrowind, over the sprawling metropolis of Daggerfall and beyond, there rests the fog of battle, and out of the three alliances, only one can become the masters of Tamriel. Only one can seize the throne and gain the spoils of war.Gather friends, guildmates and alliances in the MMORPG world of The Elder Scrolls as it moves online on your PlayStation 4 for the first time ever. Choose your own destiny, your own character, your own allies and, ultimately, your own fate as you try to stop the evil machinations of the Daedric prince, Molag Bal, and the first-ever necromancer, Mannimarco, from bringing about the end of days. A unique combat system enables you to engage in real-time strategic attacks and blocks, while purposefully targeting your opponents. With The Elder Scrolls' Megaserver technology, the entire world of Tamriel is connected, so you will already have the strength and security that comes from being surrounded by your friends and guild mates. Use the game's compass to navigate through areas of interest at your own pace. Weapons and armor are available any time, so play as you like, develop your own style, and explore your way across Tamriel. The world is waiting.

Horrible Game
on June 21, 2015

Honestly, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is quite possibly one of the worst games I ever played. Despite being free to play (no subscription), the MMO does not have much going for it to keep me around. The graphics are outdated. The environment can be a little bland. The storyline is neither interesting or engaging. In fact, every quests I have done felt pointless to read or care about so I just skip over the texts and get straight to the point. Something I found that might set new players back is the compass introduced in the game. At first, it seems simple enough, but once you get out of the first dungeon and into the world, it is very important to use the normal map to search for the next desire location or objective of the quest instead before relying on the compass. Many players new to this MMO may not realize it at first, like me, which can leave them completed lost. ESO is an opened world game, which means your character will be traveling across the land a lot. Shrines are used to fast travel and are free to use if you're at one. If you're looking to fast travel while you're away from a shrine, it will cost you some coins. It will cost even more if you need to do it repeatedly while you're away from a shrine. Another option to roam around the world of ESO is to buy a horse. However, the horse cost a ridiculous amount of coins (10,000 coins). Earning money, especially in the beginning is difficult too, which will mean it will be awhile before you even have enough coins to buy a horse. I noticed many players just used real money and buy horses at the Crown Store, which can cost $9-$25 (real money). The horse can also be upgraded later in inventory space, stamina, and speed. However, you can only upgrade one of those skills once per day. Essentially, it would take you half a year to max out all those skills, which is ridiculous to me (but then again you can always use real money again to speed your way to the maximum....). I really felt like the developers made everything very difficult for you on purpose just so you would resort to buying things on the Crown Store to speed things up, but the prices are very overpriced. The gameplay is decent at best. At first, your attacks will feel generic but it does eventually get a little better once you unlock more unique moves. You can also play with your friends, but make sure to choose the same pact at the beginning of the game so you guys can do quests together. If you do not choose the same pact, you guys will not appear in the same village to play together and will have to wait until "Dungeons" is unlocked. Please note there is a minimum level requirement to play together for the dungeons. The server for ESO is also not very good at the moment. You may be kicked for no reason at times. There's only one thing I really liked about the game and that is the fact that you can trade pretty much anything among your friends and other online players. Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited failed to deliver, in my opinion. Compared to so many other games out there at the moment, putting in all this effort and time into ESO just isn't worth it.

"A Great Action-RPG for the PS4"
on April 5, 2015

First and foremost, Bloodborne is a great game and it's definitely worth buying if you own a PlayStation 4. Bloodborne is visually stunning. The environment is very detailed and reflects the grim and dark atmosphere the game is trying to convey. Bloodborne sounds and feels great! Bloodborne's gameplay is truly unforgiving, but in a good way. Bloodborne isn't a game where you can expect to just hack and slash to defeat your foes. Bloodborne requires you develop the necessary skills to defeat your foes and bosses by learning their movements, behaviors, and patterns. The controls are also great and very responsive. Bloodborne offers a unique selection of weapons and items as your disposal. Each weapons offer something different, which is worth trying and mastering during your adventure. Bloodborne definitely delivers with its challenging gameplay, however, there are a few things that unfortunately will make you feel frustrated, annoyed, or unsatisfied during your time with the game. I was a little disappointed in the co-op, story, and other little things. Co-op can be fun, but it is a bit frustrating to connect to begin with. Sometimes it can take awhile for you to connect with your friends, which leaves you there just waiting and waiting. Also, note there's a level range restriction when playing with friends. While it is understandable, if your friend decides to get the game later on, it may be awhile before you and your friend can even play together. I was also disappointed with the story, that is the game barely has one. This will leave you unclear with exactly why you're fighting all the monsters in the first place, besides the sole fact that you're a hunter meant to hunt. Other aspects that left me unsatisfied were the actual amount of outfits available to purchase (using insights) and eviscerating animations (could have been expanded to reflect the use of each weapon). Despite some minor flaws and drawbacks here and there, Bloodborne is a fantastic addition to the Action-RPG genre, and worth considering for your next purchase for the PS4.
I would recommend this to a friend!
