Convert your display port with this Tripp Lite mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. The 6-inch length ensures it's always at exactly the right angle, and its plug and play so that you don't need any drivers or extra software. The Tripp Lite mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter is compatible with Apple Thunderbolt ports for convenience.

Doesn't detect display on Mac

For most use cases, I am sure the adapter works fine.
However, the adapter lacks the functionality of passing EDID information to the computer (information sent from the external display back to the computer), which also includes native and other allowed resolutions of the screen. My screen needs a different resolution from the default ones (it only shows two options), and I am not able to change this. This is in combination with a MacBook Air and the newest macOS.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
