a quirky british version of almost famous... kinda

this is just a great funny movie about some people who love music and want to share that love. the cast is wonderul, so many familiar faces and the characters they play are great. not only is the movie excellent, but this also has the best soundtrack to ever exist int he history of film.

got this during trade and save because there was nothing else i wanted.
i heard it was great, i love pitt and i love fincher, but this was just..... i dunno, not boring, but not interesting. i dont get why so many people love it, maybe i just need to watch it again...

i love time travel. i love mysteries. i love JGL and Bruce Willis.
This was really a no brainer for me. The movie was not only amazing, but it was completely original, which is very rare in this age. aside from the story itself, the make up and special effects to make levitt look more like willis is mind blowing.
and if you havent seen it, check out Brick, from the same director, also starring JGL. another brilliant movie.

you already know how amazing these movies are, so no need for a lengthy review.
the movies are great, the blu ray transfer is gorgeous, the audio is wonderful and there are so many extras you will probably never see them all.
why are you reading this? you should already own these.

2nd time buying it and now i love it

i saw this on tv for the first time about 6 years ago. i only saw the middle of it, but really enjoyed it, so i bought the blu ray, watched it and for some reason found it boring, and sold it.
been on a scorcese kick lately and decided to give it a second try and now i can't imagine not loving this movie.

after obsessing over the departed i decided to check out some other scorcese flicks and thanks to the trade and save sale i picked up this movie.
i have no clue how i never saw it earlier, but im so glad i finally did. such a great movie. really, everything about it was great. scorecese is a genius

dont get me wrong, i enjoyed the movie, but i dont see why people freak out over it so much as being such a masterpiece. the movie was far too long and had way too many slow parts in it. the ending really seems to just drag on at times.
the blu ray looks and sounds great, and the movie is good, worth a watch for sure, but i wouldnt put it on as high of a list as everyone else does

first off, long movies dont bother me, my fav movie is lord of the rings, and whenever i watch it, i watch all 3 back to back, i make an event out of it.
this movie though, was long and didnt have enough story to fill the time. i read the original cut was over 4 hours long. theatrical was cut to about 2:15 and the extended cut comes in at almost 3.
it was a good story though, the acting was great, the action was exciting and it kept you on your toes. the blu ray looks magnificent and the aduo sounnds wonderful with surround sound.
i most likely wont ever watch the extended cut again just because some of those scenes shouldve been left out, but i will gladly watch the theatrical version.

recently got on a mafia kick thanks to scorcese and decided to pick this up. it was surprisingly good despite being made in the 80s and me not being a fan of most of the actors in it.
there were some really cheesy parts and some AWFUL special effects, but it was the 80s, so it happens. i will sat the picture quality is amazing, the did a great job with the blu ray transfer. it doesnt look 30 years old, kudos to them

the first movie was ALMOST original, it was fun and gory and i really loved it. the second one was not nearly as good, but still entertaining. i think they tried to take the idea too far. worth buying , but nor for $20
