door fell off before I plugged it in

This was more than a little disappointing. The hinges on these seem very flimsy, which is a poor design as the doors are wired for the touch-screen. In my case the door was off, the wires were disconnected, and nothing in the instructions helped a bit. It's a chore to unpack, repack and return. My recommendation would be to save yourself the trouble.
What's great about it: hard to tell
What's not so great: didn't work
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

doesnt work with windows 8

I am very disapointed in that the NEW slingbox does not work with the NEW Windows operating system. I saw NOTHING in the specs that told me that it WOULDNT WORK. I am waiting for slingbox to tell me if it will work and WHEN. Until then, if you have windows 8 or are thinking about it, don't think about one of these!
This is a two star review until this serious issue is fixed.
What's great about it: good picture (with ipad)
What's not so great: doesnt work with laptop
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
