JTMMJM's Reviews

Keep your phone on the side, and let this Sony Cyber-shot digital camera do the work. It enjoys a 18.2-megapixel sensor and an 30x zoom so that you can focus on the action and get highly detailed shots. Powerful flash modes and solid low-light performance means this Sony Cyber-shot digital camera gets the results you want. ..

As Expected From Sony; Powerful Zoom

This is my third Sony Cyber-shot in the last 7 years. I loved the last one, but I got something on the sensor and decided to upgrade instead of cleaning the old one.
This camera has excellent zoom for a point and shoot. A good zoom is part of the reason I picked this one.
The photo quality is very good, although it's definitely worth taking the time to read through the owner's manual and become familiar with the various modes and settings.
I was initially so upset with the low-light, indoor shots (with flash) that I considered returning the camera. Some setting adjustments took care of most of that. Of course, a small pop-up flash can only go so far. Par for the course with point and shoots in general. Still, I find myself having to really adjust settings/flash to get good indoor shots in lower lighting. That's about the only reason that I rated the camera 4 instead of a 5.
I also initially thought that having to manually pop up the flash would drive me nuts. Now, after a couple weeks of owning it, it's just habit to pop it up as soon as I turn the camera on.
I've been impressed with the various night-time modes. Good results with those. The pool picture I added here was taken on sunset mode.
I like the flip screen. It's helpful for selfies, especially if you're cramming several people into the shot.
The macro photos I've gotten out of this camera are fabulous. Good focusing ability from the camera.
Basically, so far so good. There are a few user things that aren't especially intuitive, but since I'm already accustomed to Sonys, it works for me.
If you're after a point and shoot with awesome zoom and the ability to manually adjust settings, this is a pretty great option. It obviously doesn't have the bigger sensor that you'd get on a DSLR, but for what it is, it's great.
My Best Buy number: 2349417303
I would recommend this to a friend!
