Dollar for Dollar a Monitor that Can't be Beat

I did a lot of research before purchasing two of these monitors. I initially was going to buy two Apple Thunderbolt displays to go with my Macbook Pro Retina but my research revealed the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM was cheaper and better in several ways then I stumbled upon this gem. I use my monitors for work, photography and the occasional movie. I couldn't be happier. I picked up two of these on sale $269 at Best Buy for price of one Dell UltraSharp U2713HM. Unless you are a graphics artist this monitor will work for you. It looks elegant and performs way above average. Operating the adjustment controls will take some getting used to but not a deal breaker. You may experience ghosting when streaming video but that will be due to your signal strength not the monitor. I use them to edit my photographs and I was pleasantly surprised the printed versions of my shots were dead on. If you have cash to burn go for the Thunderbolt or UltraSharp but if you enjoy a bargain as I do, trust me, you're do no better.
My Best Buy number: 237769420
What's great about it: IPS Monitor technology 2 yrs ago this monitor would have cost $750 or more
What's not so great: Plastic Chasis and 2,560-by-1,440 resolution
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sure. You may need to purchase a hdmi to vga connector if the monitor isn't HDMI ready.

Daylight Viewing Monitor

Do you carry any 15/16" computer monitors designed for use in full sunlight? I prefer not to have widescreen.
Try the AOC i2757fh its currently on sale for $269 but its a great IPS 27 inch monitor at a budget monitor price.

I have a HP Envy SmartTouch and a 27' LG Monitor. what connectors do i need to hook them up?

the connectors that came with the laptop will not connect to the HP Envy as it only has USB ports what connector can I buy to connect the two
Several options you can use a VGA cable or HDMI. HDMI will provide a better picture IMO. If you're interested in a simple multi monitor configuration check out Toshiba's dynadock tower it's about $125 and it'll will allow you to run four monitors from a single laptop.

dvr and smart tv

What dvr should I use with a smart tv
Most cable service providers have a decent svc but you can go with a Tivo or try Homerun which allows you to use your own harddrives.
