THIS is the iPhone you've been waiting for

So I picked one of these up today, and needless to say Apple hit it out of the park for the first time in a few years. I've had a 4, a 4s, and a 5s, and this is easily better all of them.
The screen size is about as large as you can go while still 1-handing it, and even though stat junkies are going to be like "326 PPI is laughable", there's not much of a reason to have much more than around 250 PPI on your screen in my book; colors might pop a bit better but it's not like the human eye can really detect that much of an increase in sharpness, and Android handsets around the 5 inch mark with 720p screens are even "clear enough" for the majority of users.
What sets this phone off though, is how thin the rounded edges make it feel. It's not much thinner than the 5, but it feels it. It's like how an HTC One or a Moto X feels thinner than it is.
Just make sure you put it in a case.

A nice basic smartwatch

I had bought one of these to keep up with my day-to-day activity tracking and while it did work for that, it was limited in what you could actually see on the screen with the iPhone. The screen is very visible in sunlight, but it felt like it was something that belonged on an old-school gameboy and not connected to a smartphone.
Had the screen been higher res (256x256), I feel this wouldn't have been as limited as it was. Still, a good smartwatch for those that only need a basic smartwatch.

What's not so great: low-res screen is very limiting.

Great head unit for the money
on August 6, 2014
Posted by: BillFromKC
from KCMO
I bought this as an upgrade to the previous year model (CDE-133BT), mostly because I was able to sell my older model for what I paid for it and make a few bucks installing it for the friend that bought it. Just like the 133, the 143 has great audio quality and strong sound output. It also connects to iDevices over Bluetooth and USB, and connects to Android devices over USB. It also plays music files from burned CDs, flash drives, memory cards (with a reader), and externally-powered hard drives; I just wouldn't recommend doing this as file navigation is cumbersome.
On iOS connectivity - I've found that all phone and Siri functions work fine. I've also found that audio playback from media apps (Music, Videos, Podcasts, Pandora, VLC, etc), games, and other apps with sound and music works great, but you cannot pause or skip tracks from the head unit's controls (AVRCP controls). This isn't as big of problem if you don't have steering wheel controls since playback controls on the device itself are easier to use, but I can understand why some people would be upset about this not working if they did have steering wheel controls; I've also found this to be an issue with other bluetooth-enabled head units from Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, and even with factory audio systems in Chrysler, VW, Ford, GM, and Toyota manufactured vehicles. I believe this stems from how Bluetooth in iOS works, where all functions pass through the OS before being fed to the app (like with headphone controls).
On Android connectivity - I've found that phone functionality works fine with both VoiP and cellular dialers, for the most part - some dialers don't like bluetooth at times. I've also found that audio apps are really finicky at best and just don't work at worst, and it's not just this radio. Audio will only work from one app, and that app needs to be playing audio continuously as the bluetooth connects between the device and the radio. This happens with Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Kit Kat, and with different brands of devices (Samsung, LG, Motorola, Kyocera, Pantech). Unfortunately, the best fix is to disable A2DP between the device and the radio, and instead use an aux cable. Again though, that holds true for a host of car audio systems, both OEM and aftermarket.
All in all, this is a pretty good head unit. It's not too distracting at night, even with dimming disabled. It's loud. It's bass-heavy when it want it to be, even with factory speakers. It looks good. The Bluetooth connectivity works great for calls, and so-so for A2DP (better for iOS than Android).
My Best Buy number: 2181888255
What's great about it: Bluetooth, iOS connectivity (USB and Bluetooth)
What's not so great: Android connectivity (but that seems to be an Android OS problem...)

So I have this phone, but it got soaked. I miss it so much right now. The performance spoiled me, as did the quality. Out of all of the 5S models, however, I'd say that the 32GB hits the sweet spot - plenty of storage for apps, music, photos, and video.
Apple got this phone completely right.
The only thing that sucks about it is that water will kill it. However, water can kill even the most rugged of phones when given enough time (I'm looking at you, G'Zone handsets and Galaxy S5 Active).

I have a 32GB and my wife has a 16GB model. Both are amazing phones; fast, responsive, and powerful. I can't say enough good things about them; from the clear screen to the quality of the headphone audio, from the lightning port (best connector on anything of all time if you ask me) to the capabilities of the phone, there's no reason to get any other iPhone (unless you want the plastic-bodied 5c instead).
The only downside to the 16GB model is that you're stuck to 16GB of storage, total. Spend a little more and get the 32GB model instead. It's worth it. Also, make sure that you get a case for it; while the phone isn't as delicate as the 4 and 4s, it's not going to be as durable as something like a Galaxy S5 Active or a G'Zone Ravine.

With a little work, this gets you unlimited voice
on July 23, 2014

I bought this with my Kyocera Event because I needed airtime with my prepaid phone. However, 300 minutes isn't very much talk time when you actually use your phone to call people (Virgin's $35 smartphone plan is unlimited text and data, but 300 minutes).
So what's a person to do when they use their phone more than 300 minutes? Google and an app have the answer.
Google offers a free service called Google Voice. You can get a phone number, voicemail, texting, and (as long as you call within Canada and the United States) it's free to use. Pair this with an app called MoPlus that you can buy through Google Play or the iTunes App Store (Android and iOS, respectively), and given the fact that Sprint doesn't block VoIP traffic on their network, you can use MoPlus to make voice calls over your data connection. The added bonus is that you'll be able to talk on the phone and still connect to apps that require data connections (such as navigation apps).

Great phone - once you root it.

Short review - with some work, a Micro SDHC card, and willingness to tinker, this can be a great phone. However, spend a little more and get a phone with better specs if you can afford it, as the small amount of RAM, single-core processor, and dated OS can limit what you can and can't do with this device. I'd recommend it to the basic smartphone user, but only after rooting and cleaning the bloatware off of the device.
-------------------------------------
The long review is going to be three parts - there part where I talk about the hardware itself, the part where the device was unrooted and bloatware-loaded, and the part where the phone was rooted and all of that lovely bloatware was removed.
Part one - the hardware:
The Kyocera Event is, without a doubt, a decent (albeit altered) copy of the iPhone 4 at a much lower price. The good stuff includes the backside of the case having a nice texture and good feel in the hand, the touch screen and camera/flash LED cover are plastic that isn't easily scratched, the proximity sensor, physical buttons, capacitive buttons, and touch screen are all fairly responsive, and both the Micro USB and headphone port are located on top of the device. It features both 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth (probably 2.1 or 3.0) connectivity and both connection types work quite well. It's extremely light, even compared to handsets like the iPhone 4/4s. 3G connectivity speed is decent, averaging somewhere between 1.0 and 1.9 mbits per second download and .8 to 1.2 mbits per second upload. The bad stuff would be that the touch screen freaks out over some multi-touch stuff, the processor is single core, the RAM is limited (maybe 384 MB tops?), and it's not going to be a great movie or game player; sound quality through wired headphones is middling at best and quite disappointing if you've used iPhone, iPod, or iPad in the past. Also, you can change batteries with this device; depending on your usage habits, this may be a good thing.
You'll also want to invest in a Micro SDHC memory card for this phone if you plan on loading any media on it. It supports up to 32GB, and I'd recommend that you get one with at least 16 GB of storage on it, especially if you plan on putting movies or lossless audio music files (FLAC, ALAC, etc) on the phone.
Also, this phone doesn't come with ear buds. It does come with the Micro USB cable and AC wall charger; I'd recommend a charger for your car as well, as this phone can blow through its battery.
Part two - stock software:
The problem with almost every Android phone is being pre-loaded with a bunch of software you'll either never use or doesn't work that well; the Virgin Event suffers from this problem. With the stock software, you'll be left with less than 60 MB to run your own apps (available storage in the device was a paltry 800MB). What this means is if you try to run Twitter AND Facebook at the same time, one (or both) will crash. The stock software at least has a couple of decent things installed, such as the full Google Play suite of media apps and the Google Chrome browser. Because of this, I can't recommend the phone if you don't plan on "rooting" it.
Also, the single most annoying thing about this phone is the Virgin animated boot logo. It's not so much the animation as it is the music that plays during the animation, and unless you root the phone, you're stuck with it.
Part three - post "rooting":
So since I did want to get more from my phone, I did root it. The great thing is that you don't need a computer to root this phone; an utility available on the internet called "Poot" does the rooting for you. Once rooted, I was able to uninstall all of the bloatware that comes with it, along with the stuff I didn't need. I was also able to replace that boot animation with something a little less annoying. With the bloatware I removed, I more than doubled my available RAM so the phone could run Twitter, Facebook, Chrome, and a non-stock music player at the same time. Rooting also helped with a battery life problem; without bloatware constantly trying to run in the background, even while the phone was sleeping, I managed to get another usable hour and a half out of the battery.
The major caveats with rooting are as follows - one, it's not for people that are novices with technology and are unwilling to read how to do it and what not to do after you do it; and two, anything bad that happens to the phone is on you, not Virgin, Best Buy, myself, or forums on the internet that you checked out looking for a how-to. ROOT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
-----------------------------------------------
All in all, it's not a bad phone. I like it, and for the price, it really can't be beat. However, I'd recommend spending a little more and getting a phone with better specs, as this device will feel dated to most users.
My Best Buy number: 2181888255

Excellent controller
on July 8, 2014

I've bought several of these controllers over the years, as I use a Windows box and a Mac for gaming (I have four in all).
The good is that the controller is durable, ergonomic, and has a longer USB cord than many other PC controllers; while not a huge deal at a desk, my Windows box is in the living room and I do multiplayer games on the couch with friends; the longer cords don't get in the way.
Of course, the controllers are also responsive.
The biggest advantage with these controllers is with emulation, specifically Nintendo 64. I use the D-pad as the C buttons in some games, as you're able to push down left and right on the D pad at the same time. This is handy with games that treat your right analog stick as buttons instead of directional controls.
The only negative is there is no vibration.

Great for those not attached to Apple
on January 9, 2014

I no longer own this, but I did have one for a month and it was a nice little set-top box.
First, I'll go over the negatives - It's harder to configure than Chromecast or AppleTV and the remote app for iOS devices doesn't work as well as it should. Also, the built-in SD card media player isn't as easy to use as it could be and it's not as network-friendly as the average smart TV when it comes to playing back ripped DVDs/Blu-Rays and other mpeg4/h.264 media you have stored on a computer. Finally, the smartphone/tablet games ported to the platform don't work as well as they should.
As for the positives, Roku is the definitive internet streaming box. If a company has a live streaming service, chances are that the Roku supports it. If a company has a stream-on-demand service, chances are the Roku supports it. It also supports it well. The new remote, in particular, is awesome - headphone support via remote should be a standard feature anymore. Also, the added 5GHz A/N wireless connectivity (on top of the standard 2.4 GHz B/G/N) is a welcome addition to this device (the previous model known as the Roku 2XS only supported 2.4 GHz B/G/N networking).
If you use Mac computers, iOS devices, or you have an iTunes account with a lot of media (movies, TV, music, and audiobooks) purchased through iTunes, you're better off to get an AppleTV (which lacks a lot of the built-in streaming capability but plays great with Macs, iOS devices, and is the only STB that supports iTunes). If you're attached to Google at the hip and don't mind an STB being dependent on your Android Phone or Tablet, get a ChromeCast. If you don't have a smart TV or Apple stuff and want the definitive box to stream media, this is the way to go.

Great protection, but that screen protector.

So for a birthday present, I got my wife an iPad Air. Because I'm awesome like that and she wanted an iPad for a while. I did determine that it would need a pretty extensive case to protect it, however; we have a two year old, and we all know what two year olds do to expensive stuff, right?
Being that the OtterBox and the LifeProof were both unavailable and this was the only available case the salesperson could recommend for my situation. (He also told me I could trade my Air for his 4. He had a terrific sense of humor.)
Being that we've used it on a pair of road trips and my toddler uses the iPad in this case on an almost daily basis, we've had zero issues with it. We do have to clean the screen off after every use, and we pop it open once a week to clean dust off of the iPad itself (BTW, ZERO scratches on the iPad in this case, unlike another reviewer's experience), but that's par with the course when it comes to armored cases apparently (people I know with OtterBox or LifeProof on their iPads do the same thing).
I also play a few games on the iPad with this case on - Infinity Blade series, Sonic CD, Castle of Illusion, and Cut the Rope among others - and the case doesn't interfere with touch response or give me that "it's in a case" feeling.
The only negative is the screen protector itself is delicate. My wife scratched it on a stone table. It's not like it'll be destroyed by tapping on it, but it isn't scratch-proof.
All in all, I'd recommend this one if you can't get a LifeProof.
My Best Buy number: 2181888255
What's great about it: Sturdy, toddler proof, weatherproof, real-world proof, doesn't affect touch sensitivity easily
What's not so great: Screen protector scratches easily.

There's no guarantee that ATSC tuners will work with ClearQAM cable channels, and even so, the greater majority of cable providers now scramble all cable channels. Including OTA channels. Because the FCC changed the rules and they're allowed to do this now.

Big Time 3-D problems
By Mike
I am writing to review the “XBR-55X850C”. HOWEVER, I have read multiple web pages that state this problem is happening with all Sony 3-D televisions, in the United States AND Europe, and that customers are not receiving ANY customer service, or any help from Sony whatsoever.
I have called 3 times and have been hung up on each time.
So, if you are looking for a great 3-D experience and excellent SONY customer service, LOOK ELSEWHERE. Sony rolled out an update for this television at the end of November of 2015. After the update, when viewing 3-D content, the display mode function of the current screen is continuously showing the current screen mode of the television. ALL THE TIME. Coming in and out up to 7 times a minute.
So, while watching a 3-D movie, every 5 to 60 seconds, the words “Wide Mode Full” flashes on the screen in the lower left hand corner. It NEVER stops. Sony is aware of this problem, unfortunately, Sony customer service is rude & unhelpful with this issue. They claim that “Sony is aware of this and is working on an update”. When I asked when the update would be released, Sony representatives claim they do not know when this update will be available.
Every Sony representative has hung up on me after not being able to satisfactorily answer the simplest of questions.
Anyone looking for a great 3-D experience, look elsewhere. Sony does not care about this problem. After all, they already have our money.
If you think this is the same old Sony with great products, high standards, and great customer service, THINK AGAIN! This is not your father’s Sony. This is the new, corporate Sony that just wants your money.
Everyone out there looking for a good 3-D T.V. should stick with Samsung. I wish I did. I thought I was “upgrading” from Samsung to Sony.

Hard To Program
By FortFun2 from Illinois
Found it is difficult, not intuitive, to program. Others have said if you loose power all your programming is lost, but we haven't lost power yet so can't confirm. I just wanted it to run when I left the house without a set program and contacting Bissell just led to more confusion. But, once I got it working I was impressed with the amount of pet hair it removed.

Sometimes, I have to plug mine directly into the charger to get it to charge because the battery is overly drained. Because of this, I don't even bother programming it anymore.

Terrible

I purchased this one month ago and it has a faulty display. Best Buy takes no responsibility and will not exchange it for a good one. I have left voicemails for a district manager to call me and no one has called. I will never shop at Best Buy again.

Bootleg Copy of Secret Life of Pets
By Disappointed
About 15 minutes into the movie the volume became muted and a message came on the TV that this was a bootleg movie. An unauthorized copy. Be very careful purchasing DVD's or Blu Ray movies from Best Buy. They just may leave you and your grand children very disappointed as it did our family.

This could very well be your DVD or Blu-Ray player
January 20, 2017
causing your issues. The Film Industry (MPAA and associated groups) are known for their draconian DRM systems, first with DVD and now with Blu-Ray and 4k Blu-Ray.
if your Blu-Ray player isn't connected to the internet, connect it to the internet and update its firmware. That should fix all your issues.

This is the future of WiFi
By neio11
I threw (recycled) away my wifi extenders plus I am now able connect a device with an ethernet cable without having to run cables through the walls because each node has 2 ethernet ports. So for instance, I have one node connected to my modem and an ethernet switch. My 2nd node in another room is connected to an NVR for my security cameras. The speed through the nodes is surprisingly fast. The NVR is capturing HD videos from 3 cameras and it seems to capture fine. The 3rd node is in my living room area. The whole house is covered! Please put a password on your wifi otherwise you'll be supplying FREE wifi for your neighbors. I can have full internet access from 3-4 houses away from my house. I thought installation would be a pain considering you have to setup each node. Well, I shouldn't say "have to" because you don't have to use all 3 nodes. You can use only 1 or 2 and give the 3rd to me. haha. No but setup is a breeze! The only thing is that you have to use a smart device such as a tablet or phone, to do the setup. Velop currently doesn't support PC-based setup but I hope Linksys changes that especially for us "techies"!!! It works with Alexa. You can ask #Alexa what the wifi password is... so they say. I haven't had much success with it yet. It looks clean and neat. It doesn't all those antennas sticking out of it which makes it aesthetically pleasing.
I'm loving so far!

The setup process basically forces you to put a...

...password on your WiFi network. In fact, it's one of three things it asks when you set up the parent node, the other two being "Do you connect directly to the internet or through a modem/router device provided by your ISP?" and what to call your wireless network.

Blazing Speed, Best In Class Performance!
By gadgetguy11
The Linksys - Velop Tri-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System (3-pack) is packaged in a beautiful & functional box with magnetic closure - it exudes quality! Each Node is protected individually. Just looking at the box, you expect a premium, esoteric product... & Linksys delivers that & more in spades! The shapely Nodes are beautiful & blend with any decorating style.
Simple set-up via the Linksys iOS or Android App. Within minutes, you are ready to go online.
As shown in attached photo, I have 90 wireless devices utilized over 5,000 sq feet / 3 floors: this is a challenging application for high speed Wi-Fi that includes: connected major appliances; BAS ceiling fans & Haiku Wi-Fi connected lights; Wi-Fi Thermostats; Netatmo Wi-Fi Weather Station; 65 Hue Lights; Connected exterior door locks; Wink Wi-Fi connected devices; connected iDevices, Nest & Arlo cameras; iPads; iPhones & computers. Finally, Streaming from 4) Apple TV's; Nixplay Wi-Fi Photo Frames.
And now the Results:
Velop delivers the fastest Wi-Fi speed I have ever experienced and does so consistently! The attached screen capture shows 349 Mbps Download / 23 Mbps Upload. These are WIRELESS speeds!! I pay for 300 Mbps Download / 30 Mbps Upload & our internet service provider generally delivers 300 - 360 Download & 22 - 32 Upload.
Velop is the only Wi-Fi System I have found to date that actually delivers this sustainable speed and does not randomly disconnect the many devices.
High power Wi-Fi requires a high current source. Each of the 3) square white power supplies produce 12 Volt, 2 Amp output! 24VA (Volt Amps) is the highest output of any router I have tested. Better yet, the cable that plugs into each Velop is perfectly angled at the plug so the wire routs neatly through the cable management feature at the base. Brilliant design!
PRO's:
1- Fastest Wi-Fi Speed
2- Easy approximate 10 minute Set-up per hub
3- Velop Nodes are very attractive & blend with any architecture
4- Robust infrastructure yields dependable performance
5- 24/7 Support
6- 3-Year Warranty
7- Easy to use App with great diagnostics
8- Wire Management at the base is excellent & offers a wire free appearance.
9- Three Velop Nodes establish fast Wi-Fi speed across the house on any floor.
10- Expandable: Add an additional Node any time you prefer.
CON's:
1- IP Address range cannot be changed from: 192.***. My 2) existing Apple Time Capsule / Routers had IP addresses of 10.***, but they can be set to different ranges. A different IP Address range requires individually resetting a few devices that previously connected to the other range. For example, each Nixplay connected frame had to manually "Forget" the old Wi-Fi name of the previous SSID, then set up the same name with Velop, even though the Wi-Fi name and password are the same. On 13) Apple Airport Express devices, I had to power down each device to reset it from 10.*** to 192.***
2- IPv6 is not supported as of product release. This is surprising, as my three year old Apple Time Capsule / Router supported IPv6.
3- The first unit set up in under 10 minutes; however the remaining two hubs froze at the same exact place midway every time during set-up. After 6 failed attempts, I held each Node horizontally and kept my hand around it. Surprisingly, this procedure resulted in a virtually immediate set-up! Then I set each Node vertically & it continued to work great.
4- Only one Node can connect to the internet via ethernet. The other Nodes connect to the first Node via wireless mesh connection. I would prefer the option of connecting each Node to a wired ethernet connection. Linksys Technical Support indicated this may be added later as a software update. This would prove beneficial because the Nodes must be located fairly close together (my tests showed less than 40 feet apart at most).
CONCLUSION: My search for the "Ideal" Whole Home Wi-Fi System that consistently delivers 300 Mbps over 5,000 square feet with 90 devices ends here!! I am THRILLED with Velop & give it my highest recommendation!! It has proven to be the BEST ROUTER available for 2017!

Mine gave me IPv6 OOB

and even so, there was a firmware update it applied immediate after setup. I agree that the IP address range thing is annoying though, especially when you're moving from an existing network with static IP devices (NAS, printers, etc.)

Polished, professional Full HD video calls. The C920S HD Webcam delivers remarkably crisp, clear and detailed images in vibrant colors. HD autofocus and light correction adjust to provide consistently high definition, and the dual mics on either side of the lens capture natural sound. The privacy shutter puts you in control of what you show.

I need a web cam for a presentation for a a showing on Facebook. The web cam will be on a screen from a projector going to Facebook live. Would this be the web cam to get or should I get a different one?

You should actually look at getting a video capture card if you're wanting to put the contents of your computer display (from a projector or monitor) to any streaming platform. There are also different software packages you could obtain that would bypass the need for video capture devices (camera or direct input) for this purpose, but you'd need a discrete video chip for this sort of software to work well.

This phone iis refurbished from the description. Does it come with a new battery as part of this process?

It depends on the refurbisher. You can always check by opening the settings app and viewing Battery Health under the Battery selection.

what kind of digital receiver do i need for a Sony Weather.TV.FM.AM.48 band ICE-36

You might be able to use a digital TV converter to get tv audio on your radio, but you'd also have to deal with a 300 ohm matching transformer and possibly soldering.

Our installers will quickly and professionally mount and secure your TV to drywall and connect your TV to your video components. We'll also add an internet-capable TV and video components to an existing wireless network, perform any needed software or firmware updates and configure up to 2 smart streaming services. We’ll program the remotes that came with your equipment and ensure that all wires and cables are neatly dressed. Plus, we’ll clean our workspace when we’re done and make sure you are comfortable with how to use and enjoy your new system.

Need to have 43 " tv mounted on the wall 5 ft above electrical outlet. Xfinity cable 25 ft away from where tv needs installation. Any additional charges for this? I understand I need to purchase wall mount. Do I need to purchase cable?

Unless Best Buy installers do new power outlets, you'll need an electrician to install a power outlet up by the TV mount. A Comcast tech can run a new cable outlet if you don't want cable TV wires exposed on the wall. Also, don't bother with buying coax from anyone; technicians from pretty much every cable company will throw it out and replace it with their own, which is generally higher-quality than what you'd get from a retail store.

Should I have Xfinity installed before TV installation?

If you already have a TV set or computer monitor with HDMI you can test with, you'd be fine with getting Xfinity pre-installed. But if you do not, then wait until after TV installation.

Also, get yourself a nice antenna you can hide behind your TV so for those moments cable goes out and you need local TV, you can still watch local TV.

Apple TV 4K lets you watch movies and shows in amazing 4K HDR - and now it completes the picture with immersive sound from Dolby Atmos¹. It streams your favorite sports, news, and TV channels live. Has great content from apps like Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and ESPN². And thanks to Siri, you can control it all with just your voice.

I just purchased the Apple TV 4K. I don’t have a 4K tv but I do have a smart tv. Will any HDMI cable work? Or do I need a 4K? Can I get 4K on a regular smart tv with the Apple TV?

The Apple TV 4k will detect your TV properly and output the correct signal for it. It also will stream the correct content for your TV from its various sources so you don't needlessly run up your data usage with content your TV can't display properly. The Apple TV 4k works with TVs all the way down to 480p video resolution.

This also applies to people that have 4k TVs without HDR capability - the Apple TV will stream the SDR 4k content instead of the higher-bandwidth HDR 4k content.

Enjoy wireless audio with these Sony Bluetooth headphones. The rechargeable battery lets you listen for up to 8 hours, and these headphones also have a built-in microphone so you can issue voice commands. These Sony Bluetooth headphones can be paired with your tablet or smartphone, letting you control volume and navigate playlists from your device.

I am interested in a set of headphones to plug into our JVC TV so that we can watch and listen to programs with out bothering the rest of the house. Do you have something that would work with our 8-9 year old JVC 36" TV? Thanks, Bev

You can go a few different directions with this.

If your TV has fixed audio output, your best option is to buy a pair of RF wireless headphones. Several manufacturers make headphones like this, but my favorites of this kind are Sennheiser and Sony.

If your TV has variable audio output and you're able to turn the built-in speakers on and off, you can get a Bluetooth transmitter (or two, depending on the device capabilities) and any Bluetooth headphones of your choosing - earbuds, on-ear, and over-ear. You'll have lots of options for headphones themselves, but few companies actually make the transmitters. This is also the most expensive option.

Finally, if you don't want to go with a wireless solution and your TV has fixed audio output, you can get a headphone amp (or two) and either long RCA audio cables or long 3.5mm extension cables. Several options for cheap headphone amps are available, as are options for the extension cables.

I currently have an WRT1900ACS Router, would the VELOP AC6600 system be able to connect with that or do I did to replace in order to use the mesh system?

The Velop replaces the WRT as your router.

If you're using the NAS functionality of your WRT router, you'll need to put it into bridge mode (which should automatically disable its DHCP server) and set a static IP address for it that isn't 192.168.1.1; I'd probably go 192.168.1.2. If you're also using an aftermarket firmware on the WRT for functionality including being a web server, VPN server, or anything else of that nature, you'll also need to configure port forwarding on the Velop system to support that functionality.

Unfortunately, Velop doesn't support running as an access point at this time. Also, if you're more concerned about speed than coverage, the WRT1900 is technically faster since each Velop node will only offer a 400mbps 2.4GHz connection and a single 867mbps 5GHz connection in wireless mesh mode for your WiFi devices; in wired mesh mode, you gain a second 867mbps 5GHz connection and each Velop node will load balance your 5GHz devices automatically. Meanwhile your WRT offers a 600mbps 2.4GHz connection and a 1300mbps 5GHz connection.

Can the Velop be easily integrated into a AT&T U-verse setup either to act as the router or be placed into bridge mode? I'm primarily interested if the Velop can be placed into bridge mode which would make the Velop an access point.

Yes and no. You can put your Uverse Gateway into bridge mode and use the Velop that way, or you can leave the router in the Uverse gateway active and the Velop runs a second-layer network on top of it.

Keep in mind that anything plugged into the Uverse Gateway will not be seen by your WiFi network, so if you have any hardwired devices plugged into your Uverse Gateway, you'll need to also purchase a network switch (preferably a gigabit model). If your Uverse Gateway also functions as a print server or network-attached storage server, you'll need to find a solution to put those devices inside of your Velop network so they continue to function normally.
